Thanksgiving Family Reunion November 23 thru 27, 2011

We had a tremendous time at this location! It looks exactly like the photos. The houses and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. We had 27 people in our group ranging in age from 10 months to 65 years and we all had plenty of room and plenty to do. We kayaked, used our jet ski, hot tubbed, bbq'd and fished. We also enjoyed just visiting on the deck with it's spectacular river view. We had room for dice games and canasta tournaments. It was stocked well enough that we were able to prepare a complete Thanksgiving dinner (especially made easier by having four ovens and 3 refrigerators). Also our group traditionally splits into teams and we have our own family "olympics". The upstairs great room was big enough for us to accomplish all the challenges and still have plenty of room for everyone else to watch. We literally laughed until we cried. Darius, the owner, is such a pleasure to work with. He responds quickly to questions. He leaves no detail to chance. He and his team keep the place beautifully maintained. We loved this location. It was the perfect backdrop for our family to make some memories that are truly priceless! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This place is amazing! We had a family retreat at this property and it was the greatest weekend. The owner has thought of every detail, there's nothing you could want for. He's so easy and friendly to work with, is truly passionate about making sure you have a great experience. And we absolutely did. If you're searching for a place, do not hesitate to book this one. We had a great experience!! Guests from out of state and locally for a wedding in Landa park. The houses were well maintained and furnished, it was very well stocked with everything from kitchen eqpt & supplies to bath tissue, soap and towels. We all had a blast and look forward to renting again during the summer. The kids had a blast kayaking the river and fishing, the "old people" enjoyed sitting on the deck or pier and visiting. Thanks Darius and David for a great weekend. Thank goodness the storm moved west and didn't do any damage.

09/09/11 - 09/11/11...If you are looking for a place to have your family reunion, birthday party or just a weekend getaway and you have a big group, this is the place for you. We had 20 adults and 7 children (3 months - 10 yrs old) and slept comfortably. Every couple had their own room which is hard to find in the area. There is plenty of room for everyone and the river view is awesome. We were a little worried about the deck with little ones (2 - 4 yr olds), but there is a gate by the stairs which keeps them in or out, which ever you prefer. Swimming in the river was awesome as there was very little river traffic. Darius was very nice and accommodating and the house has been maintained VERY WELL. We have already booked next year's reunion here. We highly recommend this place!

We had a group of 22 people the house was awesome. We B.B.Q. on the deck went swimming in the lake rented jet ski's for the weekend it was very beautiful surroundings. Our group ranged from 1-55 years of age and EVERYONE had a great time. Darius was awesome he has put allot of TLC in this house and it shows. I hope to make it back for a longer weekend...

We are a group of women, sisters and friends, ranging in age from 50 - 70, and we have been taking a getaway from it all for 27 years. We wish to express our profound gratitude to you for the rental of your house in McQueeny (10/24 - 10/28). The house was very accommodating for all of our needs. In fact, several of the ladies in our group made inquiries about rental specifics so that they could take information back as a recommendation for their church's women's groups to use. We have taken cruises, trips to New York, Las Vegas, Washington D. C., Atlantic City, the Caribbean and many resorts, but this was the first time we had the freedom to fish and everyone loved it. Again, thank you for helping make this year's getaway such a memorable.

Just a beautiful and peaceful spot! The owner is wonderful in helping you get oriented to not only the home but the area as well. You won't be disappointed in this rental. Very clean and well maintained. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Owner response:Once guests get settled in I ask that they contact me so that I can stop by the house. This allows guests to become familiar with the many features of the house, how to operate indoor / outdoor stereo system, TVs, hot tub etc. This also allows guests to get directions to anywhere they plan on going and to become more familiar with the area. Plus an opportunity to get answers to any other questions they may have. I live in the neighborhood and can usually get to the house within a few minutes should any questions or issues arise.

12 of my girlfriends and I rented this property in April of last year and were blown away by it! The house was beautiful, the trees were amazing and you can't beat its view of the river. The house was spotless, with plenty of room and things to do for everyone. I will no doubt try and make my stay here a yearly tradition.

Amazing! This house is spectacular in every way! It has all the amenities you can imagine and then some! You really can have a large group, from babies to teens and still have peace and quiet. It has so much room inside and out. It is up to date and wonderfully decorated. We have been going to New Braunfels for 40 years and this is the best yet! Thank you, Darius!

WOW, yet another WONDERful stay at River Haven!! Darius has thought of EVERYTHING you might need in his house RIGHT ON the river. Everything is just where you think it would be. All the new touches added to what we found when we stayed last year were icing on the cake. I can't imagine a better place to spend our Family Holiday Celebration. We plan on coming back every year. Just wanted to make sure to let folks know about this REALLY NICE home and guest cottage. Actually it is more like two homes! We stayed at the end of last summer and had a super time. we ended up being a family of 12 and then add the pooch portion too. We all just came and went, plenty of parking, lots of local activities in town, nice mornings on the water- and family bbq dinners! Darius and his nephew where there a few times to take care of a some last minute changes, anything we needed- they pretty much had. If the ad says it, it's there! Excellent return of deposit, no delays- they automatically sent it without our contacting them. How great is that!?! This really is a good place to come and know you don't have to go supplying stuff that the ad said they had. That made such a big difference for us. Book it, and have fun! (We are looking to book, New Braunfels area again- but only have 4 folks going, so we'll leave our week for you this time!)

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful! Darius was helpful, friendly and accomodating in every way. He's made the house safe and comfortable for kids of all ages. VRBO #31941 - The Riverfront House. First of all I want to acknowledge the wonderful personality and assitance of Mr. Darius Kuehne! Our family (too may to count) gathered during the weekend of Sept. 13 - 16, 2007, and thoroughly enjoyed our time in this magnificent house. The kids really enjoyed "exploring" the many hallways, stairways, nooks & crannies (sort of like camping). I would recommend this "river haven"(very appropriately named, I might add)for any family wanting some valuable bonding time. The Guesthouse is a very nice addition(for the in-laws...just kidding, folks), for additional family members. The planned upgrades (Darius will let you know)will only make this a much more enjoyable "getaway". Thanks again, Darius, from my whole family!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday reunion at River Haven. We range in age from 3 years to 89 years. The house was suitable and lovely for all of us.
