We had a wonderful experience during our stay at your cabin. It was very clean & beautifully decorated. There was plenty of room for 2 adults & 3 teenage boys. I have rented many times through VRBO and your cabin,by far, has the most comfortable beds. There were plenty of deer that came through on a daily basis. Ski Beech slopes were approx 10 minutes away (with slow driving) and was easily accessible,. We do have a 4 wheel drive, but was not needed. Thank you for sharing your family's home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend with another couple and were blown away! The pictures truly don't do it justice and we were thrilled at how close it was to Beech Mountain Resort yet still in it's own private part of the mountain. It had all the amenities one needs to cook, relax, and enjoy the mountains. We spent most of our time on the comfy couch in front of the fireplace or in the peaceful back porch. There was only one other home next door and it didn't appear that anyone was staying there. We loved the spacious floorplan, tall ceilings, and cozy beds. We will definately make it a yearly vacation home!Owner response: dear Amber: wow, everything we agree makes Time at Beech Mountain Special and memorable. Of all the places we can think of visiting, this special Cabin holds a special place for our Family. Thanks for Sharing your wonderful Holiday at our cabin. Jeff Arditti

It was nice to unplug our teens and take them to this beautiful and peaceful part of our State. Jeff & Elizabeth's cabin is well-laid-out and nicely furnished. We were able to slow down and enjoy nice conversation with our teens.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My family and I had an amazing time at this cabin. We will definitely be going back again next year! The place was spotlessly clean and the comfort of the beds and furniture were uncomparable. The wildlife at the cabin is incredible as well. Every day we were greeted by deer, which my daughter thought was so cool. The location is great for any season you wish to visit. You are right next to the slopes to go skiing or just a few minutes to Buckeye Lake, where you can fish. There are a ton of hiking trails also, and these are all just seconds from the cabin! We would have stayed there all summer if we could have. Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with us and helping us to create memories that will last a lifetime!Did you find this review helpful? I spent two weeks in the 28604 zip code with the first week at this secluded cabin. As others noted, there is a house nearby, yet no one was ever home. I enjoyed reading on the deck with nature noises in the background, such as tree leaves ruffling, crickets chirping and birds calling. The wireless Internet worked without a hitch. I even watched some shows on DirecTV. There are plenty of hiking opportunities within a hour radius, which is why I chose the area and the cabin. The local restaurants in Banner Elk are great. Jeff was responsive and accommodating. The experience certainly gets a "thumbs up" from me.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

My family and I stayed a long weekend and we had a blast!! The property is even nicer than what is portrayed on the pictures. Only superlatives for the owner. A lot to see and do in the vicinity of the cabin and even more to do at a mere 30 minutes drive away from Beech Mountain. We are hooked and we will try to go back in Fall and Winter.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for that great Review! I'd say you'll find each season to be perfectly beautiful at Beech Mountain in its own way. We are so very happy you've enjoyed what seems to be a really GREAT RETREAT to the North Carolina mountains! Looking forward to your soonest return.

This is a very nice cabin in one of the more secluded locations on Beech Mountain. There is only one cabin next to it, and no one was there during our stay. We were greeted by deer upon our arrival and on a daily basis, which was definitely a high point for the kids. Brought a bird feeder and the birds came immediately - always a joy to watch. The cabin is spotless and the beds are good, although the master bed was one of those super high versions that requires a stool if you're not at least 5'7" tall. Slept very well, but a real pain if you just want to sit on it to do something. That's just my personal feeling - not necessarily everyone else's. Three minor issues: Could not get the wifi to work on either my laptop or my android phone. The laptop did not see the wifi at all. The phone did, but wouldn't correct. Would have called owner, but since you can't use the cell phone at the cabin, there was no sense in it. The other issue is that the kitchen is not "outfitted for a gourmet". It's a standard rental setup, with only one small frying pan and a few pots. No steak knives at all, no small plates and only a 3 or 4 small bowls; no large bowls. So be aware if you have a large crew. Looks like perhaps things have "disappeared" with past rentals and they haven't been restocked yet. The final is that there are no instructions for the TV/DVD setup. We figured out the DVD, but not the TV. It was probably easy, but we don't have a newer version flat screen TV ourselves, so we just didn't know how to get it to actually display the TV only and didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. We did enjoy the large supply of DVD's at the cabin, though. The owner was great to work with and I would definitely rent again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We've been back to the daily grind for 2 weeks now, but our heads are still back in the mountains. The cabin was spotless and very beautifully furnished and decorated. We fed birds from the back deck and admired the deer that paused outside the front door. We skied, bicycled, and hiked, and even fit in a workout at the Buckeye Recreation Center. Jeff was easy to work with, and the cabin exceeded our expectations. A perfect week!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We were impressed the moment we walked in the door!! EVERYTHING was perfect! My favorite part was the furniture -- especially the bed! :) Log-cabin charm with luxurious comfort!! The furnishings really make this cabin special!! I promise you will not be disappointed! The place was spotless! What girl doesn't love feeling pampered while "roughing" it in the woods? I also loved the WIDE open floor plan! I was able to cook meals for my family while we enjoyed eachother's company in the same room!! After dinner we enjoyed board games or a selection from the video library. I LOVED that we could all pile on that gigantic sofa and cuddle together while watching movies. There really isn't anything better. We saw deer off the back deck and enjoyed all the hiking trails too. The slopes were very convenient. I didn't want to leave....seriously. Thank you Jeff!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.
Owner response: you are too kind! but this is exactly how we hoped you would feel when booking our cabin. Our family misses our time up at Beech Mountain and will have to take a trip soon! we again thank you for your booking and hope you can return soon.

Our family of 5 spent lovely winter holiday week at Jeff's cabin. Long story short, you will be happy you picked that cabin. It is about 10 min. from the slopes or 5 min. opposite direction to the big Recreation Center with plenty of activities if weather is so so. You will find an excellent one hour hike to waterfalls behind it. When you plan your trip, give yourself plenty of time to arrive before dark- driving is not easy there, roads names hard to see, GPS rather spotty. Finding huckleberry Lane first time is not very easy at night first time. Once you there, you will find very well appointed cabin with master bedroom and sooo comfy king-size bed and master bathroom on the first level connecting to good size living room and kitchen. Stairs lead to second bedroom and another full bathroom with a large bed plus bank bed ( perfect for kids ). All the furniture is perfectly matching the cabin decor, must be done locally from solid wood. What can I tell you- just imagine yourself on a cold dark night in from of the fire place with your family, sipping hot coco and playing board games ( Jeff provides plenty of them, plus DVDs collection and even snow tube and 2 sledges so you don't have to buy yourself). Kitchen is fully equipped with anything possibly one can need. We cooked few meals in the cabin, and steaks came out just perfect on the BBQ sitting on the patio. Kids put some corn outside of the cabin and we saw few elks walking in the woods below. We had 4 cold snowy days perfect for skiing. Slopes are covered with man made snow, Xmas brake brings lots of visitors and lines are pretty long. But once you there, it feels like Colorado :-) If snow conditions are not so good, there are other great attractions: you MUST see Grandfather Mountain state park ( with Forrest Gump run) 45 min from Beech Mtn, Mystery Hill with gravitation vortex fun, Sugar Mtn. with snow tubing. Good place to eat: Brick Oven Pizza, Bullwinkles Restaurant on top and in Banner Elk below is the restaurant "The Frog & The Monkey" ( little street on the right before gas station on the corner) with best food in this area. I can't say enough about the Beech Mountain and Jeff's cabin- just a perfect stay. Jeff was a pleasure to work with, all questions and emails have been answered immediately, deposit returned upon our arrival home sooner then I expected. We all hope to return next season.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
