We had a wonderful experience during our stay at your cabin. It was very clean & beautifully decorated. There was plenty of room for 2 adults & 3 teenage boys. I have rented many times through VRBO and your cabin,by far, has the most comfortable beds. There were plenty of deer that came through on a daily basis. Ski Beech slopes were approx 10 minutes away (with slow driving) and was easily accessible,. We do have a 4 wheel drive, but was not needed. Thank you for sharing your family's home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend with another couple and were blown away! The pictures truly don't do it justice and we were thrilled at how close it was to Beech Mountain Resort yet still in it's own private part of the mountain. It had all the amenities one needs to cook, relax, and enjoy the mountains. We spent most of our time on the comfy couch in front of the fireplace or in the peaceful back porch. There was only one other home next door and it didn't appear that anyone was staying there. We loved the spacious floorplan, tall ceilings, and cozy beds. We will definately make it a yearly vacation home!Owner response: dear Amber: wow, everything we agree makes Time at Beech Mountain Special and memorable. Of all the places we can think of visiting, this special Cabin holds a special place for our Family. Thanks for Sharing your wonderful Holiday at our cabin. Jeff Arditti

I spent two weeks in the 28604 zip code with the first week at this secluded cabin. As others noted, there is a house nearby, yet no one was ever home. I enjoyed reading on the deck with nature noises in the background, such as tree leaves ruffling, crickets chirping and birds calling. The wireless Internet worked without a hitch. I even watched some shows on DirecTV. There are plenty of hiking opportunities within a hour radius, which is why I chose the area and the cabin. The local restaurants in Banner Elk are great. Jeff was responsive and accommodating. The experience certainly gets a "thumbs up" from me.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

My family and I had an amazing time at this cabin. We will definitely be going back again next year! The place was spotlessly clean and the comfort of the beds and furniture were uncomparable. The wildlife at the cabin is incredible as well. Every day we were greeted by deer, which my daughter thought was so cool. The location is great for any season you wish to visit. You are right next to the slopes to go skiing or just a few minutes to Buckeye Lake, where you can fish. There are a ton of hiking trails also, and these are all just seconds from the cabin! We would have stayed there all summer if we could have. Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with us and helping us to create memories that will last a lifetime!Did you find this review helpful? My family and I stayed a long weekend and we had a blast!! The property is even nicer than what is portrayed on the pictures. Only superlatives for the owner. A lot to see and do in the vicinity of the cabin and even more to do at a mere 30 minutes drive away from Beech Mountain. We are hooked and we will try to go back in Fall and Winter.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for that great Review! I'd say you'll find each season to be perfectly beautiful at Beech Mountain in its own way. We are so very happy you've enjoyed what seems to be a really GREAT RETREAT to the North Carolina mountains! Looking forward to your soonest return.

We've been back to the daily grind for 2 weeks now, but our heads are still back in the mountains. The cabin was spotless and very beautifully furnished and decorated. We fed birds from the back deck and admired the deer that paused outside the front door. We skied, bicycled, and hiked, and even fit in a workout at the Buckeye Recreation Center. Jeff was easy to work with, and the cabin exceeded our expectations. A perfect week!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a very nice cabin in one of the more secluded locations on Beech Mountain. There is only one cabin next to it, and no one was there during our stay. We were greeted by deer upon our arrival and on a daily basis, which was definitely a high point for the kids. Brought a bird feeder and the birds came immediately - always a joy to watch. The cabin is spotless and the beds are good, although the master bed was one of those super high versions that requires a stool if you're not at least 5'7" tall. Slept very well, but a real pain if you just want to sit on it to do something. That's just my personal feeling - not necessarily everyone else's. Three minor issues: Could not get the wifi to work on either my laptop or my android phone. The laptop did not see the wifi at all. The phone did, but wouldn't correct. Would have called owner, but since you can't use the cell phone at the cabin, there was no sense in it. The other issue is that the kitchen is not "outfitted for a gourmet". It's a standard rental setup, with only one small frying pan and a few pots. No steak knives at all, no small plates and only a 3 or 4 small bowls; no large bowls. So be aware if you have a large crew. Looks like perhaps things have "disappeared" with past rentals and they haven't been restocked yet. The final is that there are no instructions for the TV/DVD setup. We figured out the DVD, but not the TV. It was probably easy, but we don't have a newer version flat screen TV ourselves, so we just didn't know how to get it to actually display the TV only and didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. We did enjoy the large supply of DVD's at the cabin, though. The owner was great to work with and I would definitely rent again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We were impressed the moment we walked in the door!! EVERYTHING was perfect! My favorite part was the furniture -- especially the bed! :) Log-cabin charm with luxurious comfort!! The furnishings really make this cabin special!! I promise you will not be disappointed! The place was spotless! What girl doesn't love feeling pampered while "roughing" it in the woods? I also loved the WIDE open floor plan! I was able to cook meals for my family while we enjoyed eachother's company in the same room!! After dinner we enjoyed board games or a selection from the video library. I LOVED that we could all pile on that gigantic sofa and cuddle together while watching movies. There really isn't anything better. We saw deer off the back deck and enjoyed all the hiking trails too. The slopes were very convenient. I didn't want to leave....seriously. Thank you Jeff!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.
Owner response: you are too kind! but this is exactly how we hoped you would feel when booking our cabin. Our family misses our time up at Beech Mountain and will have to take a trip soon! we again thank you for your booking and hope you can return soon.

ideal cozy cabin for our week long getaway to the mountains...arrived just before a winter storm with the coldest temps of the year ( wind chills around -10 )...hearing our two boys excitement as they woke up the following morning to 5 inches of snow was priceless!! (first timers) cabin had plenty of heat to keep us floridians warm...in fact, cabin had anything and everything you could possibly need....sleds, games, movies, directv. staying in a cabin with all the comforts of home made for such an enjoyable experience...kitchen has everything you could possibly need...bbq on the deck was functional and clean. arrrived home at dusk to several large deer literally right next to the cabin... would highly recommend jeff's cabin...great value ( we stayed for a week ), clean, comfortable, and well maintained. thanks again...and thanks for making it SNOW!!!Did you find this review helpful? My wife and I just returned from a very restful week in the cabin. It is as advertised. The setting overlooks the woods where deer are abundant. It is very private and the Buckeye Rec center is very convenient. We are not new to Beech Mountain but had never stayed on this side of the mountain. Short drive to Fred's General Store and all areas. You can stay in lot's of rental cottages on the mountain but I have not seen any other that has the absolute feel of a mountain vacation. We had guests in who live on the mountain for 6 months each year and all loved our place. Great week.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Wow ! Makes us want to return soon ourselves! Thank you So much for your rental and this review, it was indeed our pleasure to have you enjoy our cabin.

Jeff was very easy to work with and we so much appreciate the special accommodations he allowed. The house is beautifully decorated in true log cabin style. If you are using both upper and lower for sleeping, nearly every foot step can be heard downstairs, but of course it is a true log cabin! We loved the back deck- so peaceful and plenty of birds and deer to see. The glider was the perfect spot for napping, which we used quite a bit! Jeff was easily accessible, and very gracious to suggestions made. Just a note: drive 25, yes 25 on those winding roads....cost me $220; and the cops hide in the hidden roads and just wait for the speeders....just a warning!!! Otherwise a very pleasure trip!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our time at Beech Mountain and the cabin! It was extremely nice! The couch was wonderful to lounge on and watch the variety of movies (right up our alley!). We have left this cabin only a little over 24 hours ago, and we are already looking at the calendar to plan another trip. This cabin is definitely everything that Jeff says it is. CLEAN, comfy, and charming! I absolutely fell in love with the beautiful wooden furnishings. I tried to think of a way to "trade out" the furnishings, but could not think of a way that would go unnoticed. LOL :) Thank you Jeff and family for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! We look forward to staying there again. Jeff is also very prompt with any questions you have and very friendly. Which is one of the reasons that we chose his cabin over the others. And we are happy we did!!!!! :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi ! Wow, we really appreciate that review. Our goal has been to create a great space suits our rental guests and welcomes them just as if you had picked everything out yourselves.... only LOTS easier ! We thank you for being a great renter and look forward to many more times sharing the Cabin with your family - Jeff

My wife and I stayed at this cabin for a ski get-a-away with her cousin and fiancee, and the 4 of us could not have been more pleased with the cabin. The interior was immaculate, the furniture incredibly comfortable, and the views were great. We did see deer each morning as we had our coffee on the back deck and enjoyed the quiet, beautiful sceneary around us. It was also only a 10 minute ride (with some ice on the roads) to Ski Beech, so the location was perfect for our needs. After grilling out each night, we played some of the many board games provided in front of the fire, and enjoyed some adult beverages. I'd definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend, even if skiing isn't your plans. Jeff was very prompt and helpful as well, and made the whole renting experience incredibly easy. We're already discussing taking a trip up again next ski season, and we would stay here again in a hearbeat.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family of 5 spent lovely winter holiday week at Jeff's cabin. Long story short, you will be happy you picked that cabin. It is about 10 min. from the slopes or 5 min. opposite direction to the big Recreation Center with plenty of activities if weather is so so. You will find an excellent one hour hike to waterfalls behind it. When you plan your trip, give yourself plenty of time to arrive before dark- driving is not easy there, roads names hard to see, GPS rather spotty. Finding huckleberry Lane first time is not very easy at night first time. Once you there, you will find very well appointed cabin with master bedroom and sooo comfy king-size bed and master bathroom on the first level connecting to good size living room and kitchen. Stairs lead to second bedroom and another full bathroom with a large bed plus bank bed ( perfect for kids ). All the furniture is perfectly matching the cabin decor, must be done locally from solid wood. What can I tell you- just imagine yourself on a cold dark night in from of the fire place with your family, sipping hot coco and playing board games ( Jeff provides plenty of them, plus DVDs collection and even snow tube and 2 sledges so you don't have to buy yourself). Kitchen is fully equipped with anything possibly one can need. We cooked few meals in the cabin, and steaks came out just perfect on the BBQ sitting on the patio. Kids put some corn outside of the cabin and we saw few elks walking in the woods below. We had 4 cold snowy days perfect for skiing. Slopes are covered with man made snow, Xmas brake brings lots of visitors and lines are pretty long. But once you there, it feels like Colorado :-) If snow conditions are not so good, there are other great attractions: you MUST see Grandfather Mountain state park ( with Forrest Gump run) 45 min from Beech Mtn, Mystery Hill with gravitation vortex fun, Sugar Mtn. with snow tubing. Good place to eat: Brick Oven Pizza, Bullwinkles Restaurant on top and in Banner Elk below is the restaurant "The Frog & The Monkey" ( little street on the right before gas station on the corner) with best food in this area. I can't say enough about the Beech Mountain and Jeff's cabin- just a perfect stay. Jeff was a pleasure to work with, all questions and emails have been answered immediately, deposit returned upon our arrival home sooner then I expected. We all hope to return next season.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from 3 nights stay at Jeff's cabin. This was a Beech Mt. ski trip for our family of 3. The cabin is new, fresh and clean. We were very comfortable in this tastefully decorated mountain get away. It has all the amenities of home and very comfortable beds with high quality linens. We enjoyed a warm fire and movies (provided by owner) on the big screen each night after a great day on the slopes. I really enjoyed the quiet of the early mornings and evenings and the serene views of the surrounding woods. We will surely consider a return trip and would like to explore this beautiful area in all seasons. We recommend this property! PS: Jeff is on top of things and was very helpful with orienting us to the area and the cabin via phone and emails. Thank you Jeff and Family for sharing you Mt. This cabin was perfect for a long getaway weekend, even though the leaves had already turned and it was too warm to take advantage of cold-weather sports. The house, tucked in thick woods, is beautiful and airy, with really nice furnishings, including quality linens and towels. Everything worked as it should, and the owner was very responsive to our last-minute booking and our follow-up questions. We had hoped to see some wildlife as we hiked some of Beech Mountain's many trails, and the owner accurately forecast a "100% chance to see lots" of deer. In fact, we saw more deer (including some bucks and young deer), than people, and we spotted rabbits, grouse and other critters on our hikes. Grandfather Mountain was a perfect day trip. Our only complaint was that Beech Mountain's road system is confusing -- even for people who aren't directionally challenged and even without snow. Stick with the directions the owner emails you and ignore MapQuest's directions once you're on Beech Mountain; they're more confusing than helpful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: You've certainly had the jackpot on wildlife! I'll be paying more attention next visit to Beech Mountain and hope to see all that you have listed. very best regards for the Holidays to you. - Jeff
