Beautiful, spacious, eclectic, light-filled, private studio adjacent to local designer's house in the heart of Soco. Off street parking for 2 cars, styley metal fence and separate entrance. Spa bath with tique jetted tub, walk through shower and clean lined fixtures. The open bathroom has long windows that are covered in translucent film and surrounded by bamboo outside. An open/private look and feel. The concrete floors have impressions of leaves, as it was poured during the fall and the choice to not buff them out was a good one. There's a washer and dryer with a sliding barn door that can cover the toilette area if desired. The furnishings are a combo of retro book shelf, old farm table and funky comfy couch.
Sweet clear story windows offer a view of a full moon or sometimes stars from the bed. There is a a lot of light in the mornings, but you'll be glad that you're awake to enjoy the organic French press and cream. There is a frig too (no kitchen), but you can walk to the nearby restaurant of your choice, shop in the wide range of retail and stroll through the neighborhood, which is really fun to explore.
Lay down on the shag rug, get swanky in the over sized metallic bean bag or play the keyboard. If you're good, we'd love to hear you. We are quiet but you don't have to be. The studio is separated from the main house by a wall with a transluscent film covered glass door, which is connected to a beautiful hallway/dining room, which can be used by tenants. Shared courtyard calls tenants to open sliding glass door and hang out around the fire pit or enjoy waiting for birds and squirrels during their snack time.
The bed nook has a Moroccan style screen with an Indian throw. There's a partial wall between this area and another nook that has a suspended dowel, hangers and space for the additional blow up queen size bed. Some art is hung, some leaning against walls and you never know what installation will be passing through.
There's a hammock outside and when the weather allows, a great place to swing and read amongst whatever happens to be growing that time of year.
2 dogs live on the property but you don't have to see them if you don't want to. Pets are welcome under certain conditions. We are all really nice and love to have people who are as well.
It's a little slice of heaven, here at 607!

The most magical joint in an already magical city. I'm just a tiny bit sad for all the people that don't discover what there is to fall for at 607 Soco Heaven.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

The 607 SOCO Heaven house exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful, quiet, and relaxing property in an amazing area with plenty of entertainment and excitement just down the street. The home itself has many unique features both inside and out that make it a great place to stay and the immediate neighborhood contains some of Austin's best restaurants, shops, and music... plus downtown is just a long walk down hill or short cab ride away! And Jennifer couldnt possibly be nicer and more accommodating with whatever may be needed. We are very much looking forward to our next stay in Austin at 607!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I found/booked this on very short notice and Jennifer was very easy to work with. You will not find a more friendly and accomodating host. The whole place has a very relaxing atmosphere. The location is close to lots of places that are within walking distance. This was my first time in Austin, but hopefully not the last!... My husband and I loved our weekend stay at Jennifer's "heaven" in SOCO. I have rented through VRBO for years and Jennifer was the first owner I have ever met. She was so welcoming and nice from the minute we pulled up. We felt very comfortable during our stay and the bunglow was amazing, to say the least! The decor, furnishings, and the best spa tub -all the little touches you don't get staying in a hotel. We loved it! We have definitely found our new Austin home away from home!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Jennifer is the most kind, thoughtful, and wonderful host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is genuine and sweet, very refreshing in this crazy world. I am in love with her house. I have never stayed in such an amazing place that was so simple and beautiful at the same time. We really enjoyed out night away and will be back. 607 SOCO is a haven, indeed. I am so thankful we have found this place. Thank you so much and looking forward to out next stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I arrived on short notice and found more space than i was expecting. The studio is very open and with the yard and fire pit it felt like i was living in my own home in Austin. The amenities were basic (i wasn't looking for a hotel), but jen greeted me with organic coffee grounds, apple juice, wine, and some snacks plus some local recommendations. Best part was meeting friends and discovering that they were friends with Jen ... It really made the week perfect. If you're good on your own, laid back, and looking to explore austin and get some insights from someone who has lived there for over a decade and put her own place together, this is a great option. Cheers, RakeshRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed at Jennifer's fabulous cottage for the weekend, following a week-long vacation, and loved everything about it. It is much larger than the photos would lead you to believe, with a quiet dining area, refrigerator and coffee maker and several other amenities. Jennifer filled the refrigerator with lots of snacks and wine, which was a very nice surprise, and she offered thoughtful tips on where to eat and visit. The upscale washer and dryer were a bonus, as were the giant whirlpool and walk-through shower. Best of all, Jennifer provides free off-street parking on a quiet street in great neighborhood. Can't wait to return!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Where do I begin? First of all, I NEVER write reviews, but what Jennifer has created is just exceptional! She has an artist's eye and her home reinforces that. Everything, from the fantastic soak tub, to the beautiful courtyard, to the wonderful little goodies in the room was just wonderful. So warm and personal! The locale is perfect -- walking distance to the best part of town -- but so private and peaceful when we were "home." It's really a special, special place and her dogs are SWEET!! I cannot say enough great things about this property! The minute you walk in the door you feel right at home. The atmosphere and décor are extremely relaxing and modern. The natural light and open space provide the perfect place to hang out or rest after a long day. Jennifer made sure every detail was taken care of right down to providing sleep masks, homemade goodies, and a wide assortment of snacks. The location is within walking distance to a lot of great shops and restaurants. There is plenty of space to spread out, including two secluded outdoor areas. This retreat is a mini-vacation in the midst of your vacation. I will come back to Austin just to stay here. Thanks for an awesome vacation, Jennifer!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

About the owner: I'm originally from Pennsylvania, lived in Palos Verdes (LA) and San Francisco and I have a mixed bag aesthetic to match. I live for design and art and loving sharing my finds with cool people. This home is my treasure and is ever evolving. I love being in the middle of everything that South Austin has to over and then retire to this quiet inspirational abode. I'm an avid tennis player and there's a great public court about a mile away. I love animals and plants, which is obvious on the lively property that has been my canvas for 10 years. Fun stuff!!
Why the Owner Chose Soco:
It's in the heart of it all. And always interesting to see the transformation...what new architecture is going up or new groovy people just blocks away.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The beautiful aesthetic abound, from the local artwork and cool furniture to plants and little outdoor areas to explore. The jetted tub...push the button and immediately relax.
