Welcome Home! Grab a quilt and a book, the hammock and rocking chairs on the porch have your name on it!!
Lorelai’s Lair sits at the end of the road and is a private hideaway!! As you pull up the drive, the front porch complete with rocking chairs and hammock, greets you as soon as you step out of the car. The hot tub on the back porch is the cleanest you will find so watch the sunrise soaking with a cup of coffee and a friend!!
The home's open floor plan allows the cook to watch the ballgame on the 37" flat panel HD TV while making dinner for the crowd. Our 2 bedroom, 1½ bath has an open well stocked kitchen, family room with wood burning fireplace, and 32” HD flat screen television complete with DVR. There’s a cozy corner chair for reading, ceiling fan, table for four and TV trays to use while watching the football games or your favorite movie.
After dinner relax by the fireplace or enjoy the watching the sunset behind the mountains. The sounds of the cicadas at nightfall can be deafening.
The Master bedroom downstairs has a King bed, ceiling fan, flat screen TV, DVR, and Wii with computer games for all ages. The bathroom has a tub and shower with hotel style shower heads. Upstairs is the Queen Bed and Futon, a great place for a nap!!
Wake up to the roosters, whippoorwills or busy woodpeckers, and watch for the wild turkeys that occasionally come by to visit. Sometimes you even hear the cows mooing from the pastures in Warne. Have you heard a whippoorwill lately or watch bunnies play in the drive?
Lorelai's Lair is named after our first granddaughter, who has graciously decided to share her pack-n-play and high chair with our renters, if needed and even some toys!
Come home and relax at Lorelai's Lair.

The cabin was just as described. The first time I opened the door I felt like I was at home. Everything we needed was in the cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable to be in. We had one question when we arrived and Lisa and Rod were very helpful in answering it. The BBQ's in the area were excellent. The pulled pork is the most popular, but our favorite were the smoked ribs. The butcher shop in Hayesville is another must stop for some fresh meat. People in the area are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. I would stay here again, and also recommend this cabin to friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Darryl, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. It is quite the compliment that you felt at home, considering how far you traveled. Our back porch is the perfect place to grill those steaks from the Hayesville Butcher shop and sip on a glass of wine from a trip to Crane Creek Vineyards. We love to hear from our guests and are so glad you would like to come back to visit our beautiful area. I am glad you guys were able to hang out at the house and relax. Thanks for staying with us, we hope to see you again real soon. Lisa and Rodney Burch

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. We got to see the fall foliage right there all around us. The cabin was beautifully decorated and contained everything you needed. If we had forgotten anything, we wouldn't have needed to worry because it had everything possible to the last detail. Dixie, our Great Dane, enjoyed the fenced yard and even got to see four deer in the woods. We would definitely consider staying there again and would recommend it to our friends. Thank you Rod and Lisa for providing us with a home away from home.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Rob, Dixie the Great Dane must bring us luck. So far we have only seen 3 deer in the yard. They are awesome aren't they and so graceful. We are very glad you guys had a great time. The greatest news is that you felt at home, that is a wonderful compliment. We look forward to hearing from Dixie about wanting to visit the Lair again. If you got a picture with her there, please share it with us, I am trying to get an album together of all the pups that have stayed with us. Thanks again for you kind words, see ya soon we hope. Lisa and Rod, Lorelai's Lair

Owner response: So glad Steven and Denise you had a great time. Glad the pups did too!! We want our home to feel like yours, and it sounds like we succeeded. Sometimes it is hard deciding if you want to rock on the front porch or chill out in the hot tub. Nice to get to do both too. Please come back to stay with us, and don't forget the pups. If you have pictures of the pups at Lorelai's Lair, I'd love to put one in my new photo album Pups that Visited Lorelai's Lair!! Thanks again for staying with us, Lisa and Rodney, Lorelai's Lair

Owner response: Thanks Mike and Kaye, Lorelai's Lair is a great place to unwind. Nothing beats the hot tub at night while listening to the sounds of the woods surrounding the house. So glad the pooch enjoyed it also. The fact that you guys came back is such a great compliment, I am so glad you found our home as relaxing as we do. This trip was planned with my mother to visit her beloved Georgia mountains and nearby friends. From the very beginning of the process we were impressed with the owners and this property. It was important that mother feel comfortable navigating the house with her cane, and it turned out that was a breeze for her! She felt right at home and was able to enjoy the entire downstairs and both porches with ease. The owners, Lisa and Rod, left a bottle of wine for mother, along with a note to enjoy the roses in their flower garden. We felt like old friends! Bottom Line: I highly recommend this property!Owner response: Thanks so much for staying with us. We like to make sure everyone that stays with us is family!! We are so glad your Mom got use of the Porches!! Those rocking chairs are addictive, we rock our cares away. Please bring your Mom back soon, the Crane Creek Vineyard is only a stone's throw away!! We are honored to have had you guys stay.

My wife and I had stayed in the area last year and we came back to this part of North Carolina again. There is something about the area that makes you feel welcome. The house that Lisa and Rod have just makes you feel like you were coming home. The open front porch, with the hammock, the openness of the main room when you walk in and the master bedroom is just perfect. The welcome wine is a nice touch and was just right after driving all that way from New York. The nights are quiet with stars as far as you can see. I recommend going into the hot tub at night and look up to see them. Although we did not see any deer we saw plenty of birds in the bird feeder. I would advise you to stop into the local Ingles to get some food to cook on the grill (Rod I am jealous of that grill!!). There are also plenty of local farms to get fresh picked vegetables. For desert I highly advise you to go to the RIB Country restaurant for the fried apple pie! It is that good. For those of you that like to see scenery. I would make a trip to all the local national parks in the area. After the second day we started to called the place home. My wife and I would stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Bob and Linda, we are so thankful that you guys came and stayed with us are glad you felt at home at Lorelai's Lair. I've tried to make the house a cozy as possible and still functional. Nothing is so peaceful as watching the stars in the hot tub with a glass of wine!! Our country is beautiful and sometimes we forget to take time to enjoy it. New York is very far from Warne in many ways, but we sure are glad you came!!! By the way, next year I hope to have screens on the windows so on cool nights we can hear the birds chirping and maybe the occasional owl. Come on back soon, the grill will be ready for you!! Lisa and Rodney Burch

About the owner: We are Rod and Lisa Burch from Prosperity SC. Rod was born in Hayesville, attended school there and went to Young Harris and Limestone College, he also is a Navy veteran. Lisa was born in Columbia, SC, attended Chapin High School and Limestone College. We rescue Shih Tzus and currently have 4. We are both employed by a utility and are looking very forward to retiring to Lorelai's Lair!! Lisa and Rod are members of Prosperity Rescue Squad and Lisa's an EMT-I. We also rescue Shih Tzu dogs, the four of them love the front and back porches and walking the quiet drive to the house.
Why the Owner Chose Warne:
We frequently visit Hayesville where Rod grew up and his parents still live. Having rented homes there for the last couple years, we decided to buy our own and rent it when we can't be there. The area is beautiful and the people are very friendly. There is so much to do in the area, there just isn't enough time!!
I wish I were a painter to show the beauty of the area, or maybe even just a photographer. America the beautiful is the best way to describe the area.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Time seems to fly by when we are in the mountains, the wildlife is beautiful, and the farms in the area are gorgeous. Fly fishing is great and the peacefulness is so therapeutic it greatly reduces the stresses of our work week. The lake is close by with plenty of parking for your boat or jet skis. Parking for an self contained RV is available if you need more sleeping space. Our home is very convenient to the Georgia Mountain Fair.
