Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible Bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
The apartment is the lower level of our Victorian home in the heart of Riverdale. We completely renovated our home in 2010 - gutted right back to the exterior brick wall! Everything is new and gorgeous. The apartment has cherry floors, pot lights, good natural light and heated floors.
With a separate and private entrance at the side, access is easy with your own code, no keys required. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with IKEA cabinets, butcher block countertops, stainless steel appliances, as well as a coffee maker & grinder, microwave, toaster oven, pots, pans, dishes...
The sitting room has a flat screen television with cable and a built-in DVD player. The comfortable pull- out sofa has a queen size mattress.
The bedroom has a queen size bed, with quality linens, and a full wall of closets. With a nice deep soaker tub and a rain shower the bathroom is sumptuous with a heated, porcelain floor. We also provide a hair dryer, an iron and a small table top ironing board.
For extra convenience you also have your own stackable washer and dryer. There is a small outdoor sitting area but we are a one minute walk to one of the largest parks in the city, complete with swimming pool, tennis courts, skating rink, hiking trails and an awesome tobogganing hill!

Why the Owner Chose TorontoThis home is close to everything and yet we're out of the hustle and bustle and noise. We can walk up to the Danforth in 10 mins where you'll find the subway, tons of shops, restaurants and pubs. A 5 minute walk south of us will take you to East Chinatown where you can dine in some of the best Cantonese, Szechuan and Vietnamese restaurants. If you keep walking south, within 15 minutes you'll find yourself on Queen Street East, also known as South Riverdale, Riverside or Leslieville. Here too, there is an amazing array of shops, cafes and pubs. We are also 15 - 20 minutes by transit to Yonge & Bloor, Yorkville, Church/Wellesley Village, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery, University of Toronto, the Beach, the Science Centre, Ontario Place, Toronto Islands, Harbourfront, the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, the Air Canada Centre, the Hockey Hall of Fame... We can get to the island airport in 15 minutes or Pearson Airport in 30 minutes as we are conveniently located near the Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway allowing us to travel easily in any direction.
The Unique Benefits at this ApartmentThis suite was completely renovated in 2008. It has it's own independent heating system (lovely and warm in-floor heating), new windows with good light, a very nice bathroom with a deep soaker tub and rain shower, gorgeous cherry flooring, a spacious kitchen with good cooking space and new stainless steel appliances, private laundry, a very comfortable queen bed and pull-out couch with queen mattress, excellent closet space, pot lights and complete privacy to come and go as you please. Although it is the lower level of our home, you'll be impressed by how comfortable it is.
This extra large park has a large outdoor swimming pool, free tennis courts, a playground, running track, skating rink and it connects with the extensive ravine system in our city. The ravines have wonderful bicycle and hiking trails that will take you for miles. It also connects to Cabbagetown by a pedestrian bridge where you'll find a lovely petting farm, a weekly farmer's market and a bird sanctuary.
Also known as 'Greek town", this shopping strip has an exceptional selection of restaurants representing many different cultures - Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French... The clothing and shoe shopping is also great!
We are just 4 short blocks from a small Asian shopping and restaurant strip where you'll find great food from China, Vietnam, Cambodia and the best French restaurant in the area!
We are just 5 subway stops to the wonderful "ROM", a must visit when you come to the city.
If you like Indian food you should have a visit to this wonderful slice of India.
The Queen East strip is an exceptional area with many interesting shops and a terrific selection of great restaurants.
Owner's Map of Toronto
We have lived on this street for 15 years and absolutely love it. It is a nicely treed street and a quiet area and yet we are 10 minutes to Yonge & Bloor. It is beyond convenient to a million facilities. We are 10 doors from 2 streetcar routes to go downtown - the Eaton Centre (10 mins), U of T (20 mins), Royal Ontario Museum (15 mins), The Art Gallery (20 mins), the Financial District (15 mins)... An 8 minute walk will take you to the Danforth where you'll find tons of lovely shops, excellent restaurants and pubs and the subway. Every August we have "The Taste of the Danforth" where over a million people come to sample the varied cuisine of the neighbourhood. A 5 minute walk south and you'll find yourself in the heart of Chinatown east, with excellent grocery stores and restaurants with food from China, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. A 15 minute walk south will take you to all of the trendy haunts of Queen East comprising Riverside, South Riverdale and Leslieville. There you'll also find a 24 hour streetcar to take you east to the Beach or west to downtown and Queen West. We are also 2 minutes to the main north-south highway - the Don Valley Parkway, which takes you to the 401 or TransCanada as well as the major east-west route along the Gardiner Expressway leading to the Airport, Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. We also live right beside one of the largest parks and ravine systems in the city, where you can walk or cycle for miles enjoying the Don Valley and the river. It's hard to find a more convenient location yet still be in a peaceful location. You'll love it!

We recently spent 9 nights in Sandra's fabulous apartment. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. It would be difficult to think of a single ammenity that she did not provide. Sandra was incredibly helpful while affording us complete privacy. I cannot think of a more perfect place to stay in Toronto. Public transportation is close by and runs frequently throughtout the day and night. Sandra provided us with the names of some wonderful restaurants both in walking distance and near the Toronto Film Festival, which we were attending. Sandra's place is a gem! Art and Judy
Owner response:Thank you for your wonderful review. I'm so glad that your stay was comfortable and that I could be helpful with restaurant suggestions as well. See you again sometime. Sandra

from the hubbub of city center and tourist sites. Within walking distance of Greek Town and a delightful French restaurant on Gerrard amongst Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. Here during workmen upgrading the entryway from the street to the well equipped home away from home. We can tell Sandra is constantly making improvements in an already confortable vacation getaway."

What an enjoyable stay we had at this apartment. It is as clean as it looks in the pictures, and the bathroom is lovely. We were given codes for the doorways which made it nice not to worry about keys. The neighborhood that it is in was very nice, and we utilized the trolley cars that stopped nearby as well as the park. The owner answered all of my emails quickly. It is just so nice to have a full kitchen and extra space when traveling with kids!
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay Beth! We look forward to seeing you again.

I was in Toronto on business and I get tired of eating in restaurants. This was a perfect compromise for me. I was able to cook meals in a well stocked kitchen and if I wanted to eat out I was close to a lot of great restaurants. The apartment is well appointed and comfortable and the location was good. Nice quiet neighborhood with a park close by for walking or running. This will be a must stay place on my next visit to Toronto.
Owner response:Thanks very much for your great review! We love our neighbourhood, it's incredibly convenient to public transit, the park is amazing with the city skyline and all of the facilities in it and the shops & restaurants on the Danforth, East Chinatown and Leslieville/Queen St. East are some of the many reasons why we have lived here for 15 years. See you on your next business trip!

Thank you very much for letting us make your apartment our home! We loved everything about our stay including the place and the neighborhood and its offerings & opportunities for food, fun, relaxation, exercise and exploration! I don't think we left many streets/neighbourhoods untraveled...and may have to invest in a pair of new shoes upon returning to our real home. Some of our favorite moments were visiting the University of Toronto, enjoying a great meal in Greektown, exploring the beaches and bluffs as the only people on a blustery day, stopping some pucks at the Hockey Hall of Fame and quenching our thirst at the Mill Street Brewery by trying a local brew. Thank you again, Jenni & Kellie
