Any Londoner will tell you that Chelsea is undoubtedly one of the best and most sought after neighborhoods for you to stay in when you come to London. The trendy shops, landmarks, interior design showrooms, department stores, café’s and restaurants --all within walking distance -- make it one of the most sought after areas in London, whether you are visiting London for a week or a lifetime.

Our Chelsea flat is located on Oakley Street, just off King’s Road and is located in a beautiful row of white Victorian houses.

This maisonette is located on the second floor of a Victorian home. There is no elevator as this is a conversion of a Victorian home, but the stairs are not overwhelming.

Step into the front door and walk up to the second floor. Find the sunny kitchen on your immediate left and living room next door.

The living room is classic Victorian London: two beautiful large windows overlook the sunny street where sunlight streams in during the afternoon. Find a large corner sofa covered in white fabric, cream carpet and curtains. It faces the original marble fireplace with bookshelves on either side. Two brown leather armchairs are on either side of the fireplace. This room is extremely comfortable to relax in on lazy days. There is a free high speed internet line so you can bring your laptop computer and stay in touch with home.

Next to the living room is the large, newly remodeled kitchen. The rectangular table seats up to 8 for meals and the kitchen itself has loads of counters for preparing large meals. There is a large refrigerator/freezer, oven, microwave, coffee pot, tea boiler and everything you need for family cooking. A large window overlooks the neighboring streets of white Victorian row houses, a charming view of London.

The apartment has a very warm and welcoming feel, something we find important when traveling to a new City. You will enjoy meeting here at the end of the day, enjoying the company of family and friends.
The powder room is on the half landing and features a toilet, sink and full sized washer and dryer. This apartment is especially comfortable, because it features so many bathrooms, a rarity in London – and great for groups of 4.

Walk upstairs to the bedrooms/bathrooms. Straight ahead is the large master bedroom with queen-sized bed and pale cream colored furnishings. There is plenty of closet space and beautiful views from the windows.

The en suite bathroom has been remodeled with gray marble walls and features a full-sized, glass enclosed shower, toilet and sink.

The second bedroom is on your left off the landing, a large room with comfortable twin beds and more closets. We love the views from the large window over the rooftops of Chelsea; you know you are in the land of Peter Pan and Wendy.

Bathroom two is next to the bedroom with bathtub/shower combination, sink and toilet – beautifully finished in white marble. This is a beautiful sunny room, and although bathrooms are not the main feature when deciding on an apartment rental, these are exceptionally nice.

We love the fact that the Chelsea apartment is located in such an excellent neighborhood. You walk out the door and on the corner is the King’s Road, one of the busiest and most popular streets of London. You can walk to the tube at South Kensington, walk to many destinations you might wish to visit, or take one of many buses to all destinations in London.

You are a few minutes walk to South Kensington and the famous Museum Row, where you find 3 great Museums. You are close to Kensginton Gardens,

Sorry, but smoking and pets are not allowed.

We think this is one of the prettiest and most comfortable apartments you could rent in London and you will have a delightful stay here!

Owner's Map of Kensington & Chelsea

I'm American and have lived in London for many years. We started to rent the one bedroom apartment that we call the Cornwall and it was so popular that friends asked us if we would be interested in marketing their apartment. The Chelsea apartment belongs to friends; wonderful central location off the King's Road. comfortable apartment for a family of two couples

    • This is a great place for 2 couples to share. We were a bit concerned about the lack of an elevator, but found it was not a problem at all. In fact it was good for all of us!! We appreciated your recommendation of Vicki Wood as a tour guide. Her descripitions were so good and the timing for our day at Windsor and Eaton was perfect. Our neighborhood was fantastic with shops and restaurants. A three minute walk to buses and a twelve minute walk to the Chelsea Flower Show. Thank you Madelyn and Philippe for a perfect London stay. Sue and friends.
