The location of this cabin is the best on Payette Lake, with world class views, a great dock, grassy yard, pretty deck with big dining table, and even a little sandy beach. There are so many things that were great about the house. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked - the best of any rental we've ever stayed in. The rate was reasonable, considering we were able to sleep 6 of us, and the first class location. There were a couple of things that weren't great. The first was that the owner came every day - he watered the grass. That wasn't so bad, but he came up onto the deck each morning between 8-9 am, when we were having our breakfast, coffee and admiring the beautiful sunrise. It was unnecessary and very, very intrusive to our holiday. Also, there were mice scampering about the house. We found one in the bar-sink one morning, and two others in the downstairs bathroom. Yuck!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The magazine-like pictures do not do this gorgeous lakefront house justice! We were two families who stayed here for our vacation and were extremely comfortable. The views are incredible and we loved everything about the house. Phil, the owner, was very accomodating and made our vacation so easy. We rented a ski boat and docked it right in front on the private dock which was fantastic. We ate every meal on the beautiful deck. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus. The layout of the house is great for two families because one bedroom/bathroom is upstairs and the other two bedrooms are on the bottom floor so there's plenty of privacy. Every bedroom has a view of the lake. I hate to write such a great review because then everyone else will want to stay here and we might have a hard time getting future reservations! Haha! You will absolutely not be disapointed in this house.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Maggie.....Thank you...for leaving everything so nice and your review....Phil

We had a wonderful 5 days, which was not enough. The design and amenities were outstanding and more impressive than the photos could show. Phil was an excellent host and always available via cell phone for questions. We brought our 4 kayaks and paddled right from the beach every day. Pilgrim Cove is the best part of the lake. Well protected from any wind and beautiful sunrises every morning. We also paddled the N. Fork of the Payette River at both the north (3 miles) and south (10 miles) ends of the lake, visited Burgdorf hot springs, and rented waverunners for a half day. The lake was a cool 48 degrees this early in June, but it didn't stop us from doing everything we had planned. Breakfast on the deck, steaks on the grill, s'mores over the fire pit, and kayaks on the beach. I don't think it could be any better, but we'll be back again for another try.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Lovely custom home. Enjoyed 2 nights of gorgeous fall weather. What a view - loved watching the waterfowl out on the lake. We also enjoyed tramping around Ponderosa Park. Great place, would stay again. A nice, practical kitchen. We had everything we needed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

What can I say...perfect place, perfect host... The other reviews say the pictures can't do it justice. True. Sitting in the hot tub looking over the moon rising over the reflecting water... World class mountain biking. Water Skiing. Walking off the porch, onto the deck, into the ski boat. (Dock once for the whole week!) Really nice neighbors. Sandy beach, Kayaking.... We felt right at home. Phil was an amazing host; available yet unobtrusive. We didn't get to do half of what we planned because the things we did were so perfect we kept doing them over and over. You won't get bored in McCall, ID!!! Already booked for next year. (Wish it was next week!!)Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Caron.....Thank you so much....Phil

This was our first visit to Idaho. How lucky we were to pick the perfect place to have a small family reunion. We have traveled all over the world, and this home is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. I actually got up early ever morning to see the spectacular sunrise across the pristine lake. We loved our master bedroom and bath upstairs, eating al fresco on the deck overlooking the lake, and sitting on the dock watching the water skiers. This home is meticulously cared for including the beautiful potted plants and flowers. Well equipped kitchen. Phil even suggest a sushi restaurant which was fabulous. We loved it so much we have reserved for the same time next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family (6 year old twins, parents and 76 year old grandmother) spent a week at this wonderful cabin in June. Amazing views and location. House was perfect, plenty of room, well equipped, comfortable. The kids loved the yard, beach, and dock. Phil was a great host. The only negative was that one week wasn't nearly long enough. Can't wait to come back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Kristen, Thank you so much for the VRBO comments......Take care, Phil
