The good: Fourteenth Street in Logan Circle has a great deal to offer: restaurants galore, a Fresh Fields, good public transportation and interesting retail within a block or so, so this property has much to offer from that score. Additionally, the owner, Dave, could not be more helpful and accommodating. The unit is accurately described and depicted in the pictures accompanying the listing. The queen-size bed is very comfortable and the walk-in closet was spacious and wonderfully supplied with more than enough wooden hangars. And except for the closet with the washer and dryer, the unit appeared to be immaculate. The not-so-good: Although parking is available, it is located off an alley that runs behind the building. The space is behind a metal garage door opened and closed with a single key which the owner provides. With resident parking on both sides, P Street is only wide enough for one car to get through which makes it impossible to park near the front door and to get to one’s car is time-consuming and complicated. I would strongly advise against having an automobile. Since this is a basement unit, there are only two windows at ground level behind some fairly dense foliage; therefore it is dark at all times. The bathroom is miniscule and access to the tiny shower stall is ridiculously tight. Finally, when we took occupancy, we noticed a very strong, unpleasant odor that did not dissipate until we turned off the AC and turned on the heat. That being said, on a 1 to 5 scale, I would rate this property a 3.5.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.

I stayed here for a month on business and received a great rate. I had my own private apartment with everything you need, including kitchen, washing room, closet space, bathroom, tvs with cable, comfortable bed, and small living room. It was very clean and decorated very nice with a homey feel. I like the private access and parking was not often hard to find even if you did not choose to use the $20/day parking in the back. It is in a very convenient area only 3 blocks from closest metro and walking distance to many restaurants, entertainment, parks, and stores. The owner was extremely helpful and the main living space of the B&B upstairs was beautiful. The only downside was sometimes the wifi was not as strong and would go out in certain parts of the room, but otherwise I would highly recommend this place.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I very much enjoyed my stay. I was there for a conference and couple of extra personal days. It was close to the metro and I was able to walk easily. I felt safe in the neighborhood and got to see areas that I might have otherwise missed if I was in a hotel. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, and well maintained. It was easy to relax and plan for the next day in a home like setting. The gate gave an extra sense of security. The owner left a message that included recommendations for restaurants and grocery stores with the basic directions. I would recommend it for a single or couple.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were two adults and a teenager here for 7 nights. This was a cozy home base for us to unwind every night after lots of sightseeing. We felt very safe in the neighbourhood and along the way to the U-Station metro. We took the metro everywhere, and really liked being able to leave our car in the private parking space as opposed to on the street. Agree with another review that the photos don't do justice to the apt. The apt was clean and well-maintained, the appliances worked well, the WiFi signal was good, and we rarely heard any noise from the B&B upstairs. The owner (Dave) is attentive, on-site, and reachable although we didn't end up needing anything since he's pretty well got it covered already.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I stayed here for a week while attending a conference in town and it was great. I walked everywhere including a lovely sighseeing trip to the White House and memorials. It's right around the corner from some very nice bars and restaurants, a short walk to Dupont Circle, and Whole Foods is three blocks away (an amazing fresh supermarket for anyone unfamiliar with it). The apartment itself was perfect for me - well equipped for working, relaxing and making breakfast and lunch each day. The wifi was invaluable. The bathroom is small, but pefectly functional. I loved having the walk-in wardrobe so I could properly unpack and get rid of my suitcase. As a woman on my own, I felt perfectly safe in the apartment and neighbourhood. It's a basement apartment, so not much natural light, but very clean and you get far more space than a hotel room and it's economical too. I very much recommend it.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My husband and I stayed at the apartment 6 nights as we toured DC and Virginia. The photos don't do it justice as it is very modern and tastefully updated. It is a delightful apartment with all the comforts of home. It is close to the Metro and many good restaurants. I highly recommend this place for 2 or maybe 3 people at the most. There are some close quarters in the bathroom, so I would not recommend for tall or larger people. Our host was very helpful, kind and friendly. He also bakes great bread and muffins.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I stayed here three nights with my college-age son. We attended some meetings and visited the museums. The apartment was nice and quite livable. The front door was secured by an iron gate. It was a little creepy when it clanged shut, but the place was definitely secure. By the way, the neighborhood itself also seemed okay from a security perspective. We walked to restaurants and to the bus line (which was right at the corner and VERY convenient). We never felt threatened walking to or from the apartment. Of course, my son is BIG, so your mileage may vary :). The Whole Foods store is about 3 blocks away. We'd stop there each night and buy breakfast stuff for the following morning. That worked out great. The apartment was well stocked with amenities (e.g. dishes, linens, etc.) The host even provided a city map and umbrellas. That was great because it poured the day we arrived. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've slept in, but it was okay. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was nice and hot. All in all, I was quite satisfied. Staying here was much more pleasant than staying in a hotel. It was more economical, too.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
