  WOW! This property exceeded our highest expectations. We spent a week with 11 family members and had the most memorable experience imaginable. The residence was pristine when we arrived -- an absolute must for the ladies in our family. The entire property was beautifully maintained. All the rooms were bright and spacious. We could all gather together or have times alone on the property. We all felt comfortable and at home from the moment we entered. The Hawaiian architecture was extraordinary! The kitchen was a wonderful gathering place at meal time. The master suite (bedroom, lanai and bath) was a sanctuary. The views of the water, islands in the distance, surfers and the sound of the waves were heavenly. The property manager, concierge and housekeeper were delightful and immediately responsive to any question or concern. The property was close to Nepali beach, shopping, dining and golf. The entire family was unanimous in wanting to return again and again.

• Paradise with a soul

  We just spent a blissful 10 nights at this property, and cannot say enough good things about it. It is paradise! We have stayed at several top resorts on Maui, including the Grand Wailea and Kapalua, but we all agreed that this home is the best! It has all the luxuries of fine resorts, with additional space, privacy, stunning views, and a unique Hawaiian flavor. We brought our 3 grown children and spouses, plus our 6 week-old grandchild, to celebrate our 40th anniversary. The house offered plenty of space to gather as a group, as well as lots of places for peace and quiet. We enjoyed the large master suite on the main floor, and the 2nd master downstairs was perfect for the couple with the baby. The other 2 couples occupied the 2 queen bedrooms toward the back of the house. It is true that the wall dividing these 2 bedrooms did not extend entirely up to the high ceiling, but our grown children claimed it did not bother them, and they really loved the bathroom with outdoor shower. We all enjoyed the natural outdoor spa, with a sandy bottom and beautiful views of the ocean. Probably the most impressive aspect to this property is the awesome location. The waves break immediately in front of the house, and there is always something entertaining to watch from the deck - surfers and sea turtles in the foreground, and whales breaching in the distance. The beach is easily accessible, with beautiful tide pools everywhere. For swimming, the water is fairly rough in front of the house, but it is easy to walk a few yards to the north, to enter the calmer waters of the bay. It is such a thrill to swim next to giant sea turtles, and also to watch them resting on the sand in a tiny cove just south of the house. Although is is difficult to convey the spirit of this home in pictures, the photos and descriptions on the listing are accurate. The manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. She greeted us with fresh fruit and Hawaiian treats, and took extra time to show us how to work the lights, ceiling fans, and spa. There are plenty of toiletries, towels, beach toys, and a fully stocked kitchen. You can easily walk to nearby restaurants, markets, and beaches, but we rarely wanted to leave this beautiful place. It is truly paradise - and we can't wait to return. Mahalo for a fabulous time!

  My wife and I have visited Maui on 5 previous vacations staying in resort high rises, cottages, and regular rooms. This time we brought the entire family, 11 total ranging in age from 8 months to 60+, and figured a large home would best serve our needs. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. This is an exceptional property that easily handled our sprawling group. The listing photos are a quite accurate depiction of all the home and surrounding area have to offer. The manager worked with us to accommodate a very special family-only event, that was the highlight of the trip. The home has direct access to 2 coves where the kids and grand kids snorkeled and saw giant sea turtles up close. The constant sound of the ocean lulled all to sleep and was the perfect background for meals and quiet time out on the covered decks. Slept with the doors and windows open as the temperature was consistent throughout our stay. The Sea House restaurant, which is just a short distance away, was absolutely fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the dining experience. The home is an architectural experience to behold. Koa wood abounds, volcanic rock is the perfect compliment, 3 sets of bifold doors, 8 1/2' tall, all Koa with glass,are a highlight of this post & beam styled home. The open beam ceilings throughout the home allow for great circulation and compliment the enterior perfectly. There are 2 guest bedrooms that share a common 3/4 high wall, so whomever occupies these rooms should not expect much, if any, privacy.

The comment regarding the 3/4 high wall has been misleading to a few guests who called me (and consequently reserved). The wall is a normal height, it's the ceiling that is 20ft! Such is the character of a "traditional" Hawaiian Pole Home, taking advantage of our abundant tradewinds. Aloha and Mahalo!

• Extraordinary Property

  We wanted a property that: 1. Was very private and serene. 2. Had soul 3. Was large enough to give each of the guests solitude 4. Had a large gathering area for all of us to be together. 5. Featured a large well-equipped kitchen where we could share our meals. This property was all that we wanted and more. The location on a point of land at the end of a very private, gated street provided the seclusion and privacy that we wanted. Molokai and Lanai are both visible from the decks and master suites. The waves come up to and past the property, allowing the surfers to glide past the living room before they exit or wipe out. Sea Turtles abound on the reef just a few feet from the decks and whales are spouting and breeching all day long. The natural lava rock spa (with waterfall) is situated off a library on the lanai and all the action and sunsets can be viewed while soaking away your troubles at the end of the day. There are two master suites (one with a private deck and the other with its own lanai and garden) and it is difficult to choose between them. The architecture is totally unique, spectacular and definitely adds to the experience. Massive doors (which we left open) create an old Hawaiian feeling to this amazing property, creating the feeling that one is literally sleeping on the beach. The rare woods used in this home make it almost impossible to re-produce today. The art work and amenities are all first rate but I must confess that with that view--- one really doesn't care to watch HD TV! Previously we have stayed in very nice hotels (5 star) and have always been disappointed with the value for the expenditure. I can say truthfully that this was worth it.
