  I just finished my first stay at Casa Muy Grande and I am already counting the days until I can go back! The house is incredible from the rotunda driveway with HUGE Palms, to a full on tiki bar with fun ball court and foosball table. The grounds keeper and his wife were pleasant, attentive and engaging despite our language barrier. From cooking amazing seafood dinners for our party, to shinning bright spotlights in the dark to guide us to the local bar, they were phenomenal! The house itself is incredible with full AC, pool, and plenty of space for everyone (we were a group of 10 guys). What's more is that the beach is picture perfect and never crowded. We surfed during the day and played beach soccer at dusk as the sunset! Pura Vita! If you are looking for a vacation rental, Casa Muy Grande is the spot to be hands down.

  When we pulled up to the entrance rotunda, the only thing I could think about was the movie Scarface. This place was amazing and the inside didn't disappoint either. Great pool area to relax in, great recreational facilitates, right on the amazing beach that is not too crowded, really a perfect spot. The staff was great, they prepared us a fresh seafood dinner that could rival big time restaurants back in the states. They were very friendly and helpful and even came out to play beach soccer with us. It's a little bit of a trek to Tamarindo but I think you would be hard pressed to find a better vacation rental in the area.

  Just spent my second stay at Casa Muy Grande. Was here for 10 days with a bunch of friends. I usually don't write reviews but I was very impressed with how they managed to make a very nice place even nicer. The house and the grounds are in impeccable order, and several upgrades to the appliances (such as the AC) were made since I was there last. The tiki bar has been repaired and the property is wonderfully kept. Can't get a better location, and now you can't get better maintenance either. The groundsman, Jose and his wife Catalina, were absolutely amazing. They took care of our every need and kept the place spotless despite our best efforts to do the opposite. They really made us feel welcome, and were able to solve every problem/request that we has. Five stars all around.

  I spent a full week at this slice of paradise and would do it again and again and again. I need to break away from the rat race to purge the minutia that we all have a tendance to get caught up with and this was the perfect place to do it! The residence was in terrific shape and location cant be beat. It had all of the ammentiies that you would get in the nicest hotel in the area without the crowds. Total privacy and security, just steps to the sand, and only minutes from great bars and restaurants; that is what CMG had to offer. I gladly accepted and will do so again. This is the perfect location for a romantic getaway or for the family. Bravo to the owners for finding this gem and making sure that it was the best that it could be. I recommend it highly. Pura Vida!

  I recently got back from a trip to Casa Muy Grande and have just booked a trip for the same week next year. We went down with five couples and had an amazing time. Not everybody knew each other before the trip, but the private rooms with the private entrances made for a really comfortable feel. I would not miss taking the kayaks out into the waves or a boat tour of the estuary....we saw a family of 20 monkeys!!! My favorite part of this house was staying in the jungle on the beach without sacrificing any of the luxuries of a top hotel. If you are looking for a place in the area I would not miss it......just dont tell too many people about it.

  I have stayed at CMG several times in recent years, and cannot wait to return this Labor Day! The location is flawless: a secluded beach that is a leatherback turtle sanctuary as well as having several surf breaks, while only a short drive/water taxi/estuary swim away from Tamarindo and the night life it offers. There are great beach walks and hiking from the estate's private rear beach access, if you can pull yourself away from the private pool and sun deck. Cantarana across the street is amazing for dinners, Bula Bula for "Siberian" frozen drinks after a hot day, and the best pizza in Costa is right down the road. we played foose in our own personal bar, surfed with the boards and kayaks provided, and the caretakers were amazing. catering in a dinner with the seafood caught day-of is a must, as well as a massage or yoga lesson on the property to get as luxurious as possible. the location is also perfect for day trips to golf, surf breaks like Playa Havanas or Nosara, as well as Monte Verde (zip lining through the rain forest) and Arenal (to see the active volcano). a perfect blend of rustic and regal!

  We stayed at Casa Muy Grande for a week. It was fairly comfortable and the security was high, but the fact that all the bedrooms but the master had there entrances outside and had to be locked each time you went in and out of them, was a little inconvenient. We were always misplacing the keys and forgetting that they were locked and having to search for the keys. Itwoudl help tremendously to put locks on the doors that had codes, not keys. The hot tub did not work at all and the tiki bar was dingy, the foosball table was totally rusted out and unusable. The ball court was peeling and not very usable also. We had some issues with one of the airconditioners and the ice makers, but the housekeeper was very attentive in getting these things looked at and repaired. It was clean and the pool and grounds were nice. There was no snorkeling equipment as stated, and the surf boards were unwaxed and had some damage on them. Just a little more maintenance on this property and it would be a great place to stay. Not worth the full price we paid for the week.

  Owner response: I have to admit that I was very surprised to read this review! We never receive negative feedback even by personal email, not to mention on one of our listing websites! Regardless, we have made many upgrades to the house over the past year. The funball court was powerwashed and repaired, the fooseball table was replaced, the hot tub has all new equipment and works wonderfully. The surf boards have been repaired and many new boards added. We created an outdoor dining area with a new BBQ, covered with its own tiki hut and teak outdoor dining table. All of the pool furniture has been upgraded. We added wireless internet. The tiki bar area has been completely redone top to bottom. And to top it off, we've hired new management that have been doing a great job at keeping us apprised of the house's condition. We love our beautiful house and take the happinness of our guests very seriously. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and we continue to make many upgrades every year. I encourage everyone to read the many reviews of Casa Muy Grande posted on the testimonial section of our website.
