The listing description and photos are accurate, actually the photos just can't capture the serenity and beauty of this place you have to experience it to see what I mean! My family stayed here for 8 wonderful days and we didn't want to leave! The house is perfectly situated with amazing views from every room. Decor is awesome loved every little detail especially the dining room table and bass theme, the kids had fun discovering the hidden fly fishing tackle on the wall paper! Beds were very comfy we slept well; ranks right up there with my select comfort bed at home so thats saying something :) Loved the showers in the 3 bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our catch of blue crab and fish we dined on. The town people are super friendly. The fishing was great, the wildlife even better. Even though we saw gators we still swam when none were around...at least I don't think they were around, if they were they didnt bother us. The hammock was perfect for lounging in all day reading the great books provided while the boys fished. We had one rainy day which we took full advantage of the antique shops in town and in nearby Palatka. We visited the nearby Ormond beach and St. Augustine on 2 of our days here so you aren't far from things when the kids get restless. We have so many wonderful memories and the most beautiful pictures to treasure for the rest of our lives.Thank you so much for sharing your perfect lakehouse with us!!! We would definitely come here again, I highly recommend this property.

I chose this place based on the pictures as it looked like the perfect place for a friend and I to retreat from the cares of the world and reconnect with the Lord and each other. It was. The house was equipped with everything we needed and was in ship shape! The windows and porches gave us beautiful views of God's creation. There were mosquitoes, but the screens kept them at bay for the most part. Some came through the decking, but they stayed at the screens and did not seek us out as food! We were not there for fishing, but we saw fishermen every day ~ the ones we saw were mostly heading north, so the fishing must be better in that direction (for you fishermen). I am looking forward to a return visit. I am only sorry I didn't find this get away years ago. A lot of the Florida I grew up in is covered over by asphalt and condos., but this is a piece that has not been spoiled. Shhhh, don't tell too many people about it though!

Owner response: We are so glad these guest picked Lake House Blue for there retreat. We are really glad we have this piece of old Florida that hasn't changed like the rest of Florida has over the years. Crescent City is a true example of a town that time has rewarded not disregarded. These old towns have a lot of charm and they do a good job of holding on to their heritage. A bed and breakfast that dates back to the turn of the 20th century, a old Masonic Lodge that is now the very famous Three Bananas, and historic houses all around. Time has been good to this area and some things are better unchanged. Even the mosquitoes are unusual because they don't bite, they only live about 24 hours because they are blind and don't have mouths. They can be annoying alright but that's better than having them bite. But being able to be in the middle of nature with all its glory and magnificent wonders makes everything worth it.

We had a wonderful experience at Lake House Blue. The owner has thought of everything and then some. The only thing you need to take is your food, spices and condiments as the Owner has thought of everything else. This home is my vision of the perfect lake house. We fished, (owner supplies rod & reels also), and sun bathed, layed on the hammock, brought our canoe and kayack and enjoyed the lake. It was peaceful and relaxing. The home is clean and well maintained. Great kitchen and appliances, wonderful fire place and a rocking outdoor grill that cooks to perfection. We stayed 4 days and 3 nights and we did not want to leave. We spent a few hours enjoying the Antique Stores in Crescent City and had a wonderful lunch at a place which I believe is called Bananas (?). Beds are very comfortable and the his and her robes supplied by the owner were cozy. Truly a great place and we can't wait to go back. The owner is super nice and very accomodating. Highly recommended.

I love the water and there is something about the waves that relaxes me. This place was like staying on a boat but no rocking. Even during a thunder storm the house never moved. I loved the fact every window had a million dollar view. The house sits back enough that it is very quit and you feel like you are the only ones around. It is a charming house and had everything we needed. OMG...I could stay here forever!!! We spent the first couple day being lazy, fished alittle and check out the town. The neighbors are friendly, waving at us as we drove around town. Next, we went to St Augustine, Daytona and Jacksonville. A place I fell in love with was "The Catty Shack Ranch", cattyshack.org, 1860 Starratt Road in Jacksonville. They are a big cat sanctuary and for $10 we seen Lions, Tigers, Cougers and Pathers up close; even got to hear the Lions roar which rattle our chest...so cool. The best part of the whole vacation was on New Year's Day. We got to see Bald Eagles. All day long we watch them...Amazing. So bring a good camera, because they like the tree line to the right of the front door. I took a few pictures but my cheap camera could not do them justice. I want to tell you we found ourselves lazing around all morning the king size bed. It is very comfortable. We did fish but not once in the morning...and we love fishing. Dean (the owner) is very polite. He answered all our question and made sure we were happy with everything. Thank you, Dean... You have to stay here....don't go the that boring hotel...

Owner response: This is such a GREAT review. This time of year the house does a great job of showing off it's colors and can put on quite a display for our guest. I need to put the Bald Eagles on our pay role and have them come when I call. Everyone loves there antics and they seem to sense that people are watching and enjoying them. I wish I could grantee this act of nature for everyone to see. The ducks sometime steals the show when there little ones arrive. But my personal favorite is the majestic Blue Heron who seems to have invented the art of flying and wants there take off to be noticed by everyone with there loud squawk. The main point is if you are a nature lover you will love Lake House Blue.....Thank you Jessica and family and friends. We loved having you here....

Normally we enjoy Crescent Lake and Crescent City from shore looking out. After just taking a few steps past the gate to Lake House Blue we knew were going to be allowed to enjoy Lake Crescent and Crescent City from a very private place on the lake. We are not strangers to Crescent City since after years of searching we decided to purchase a strip of wilderness and build a camp on the lake just out of town. Each winter when we return from our home in Alaska we spend a few days getting our place ready after a summer of neglect and spend a few nights in comfort at a local hotel. Lake House Blue was everything we had ever wanted to create ourselves in this wonderful old Florida setting and the Deans made it very easy. As you walk from shore to the lake house you become aware that you are surrounded by Florida, and birds, and water and quiet. Then you open the door to a creation of relaxed comfort combined with casual elegance. We were immediately at home in the best equipped place we have ever experienced. Afterward Mary Ann remarked that she would not change a thing if it were our own - and we wish it were. Imagine using the free WiFi from the hammock on the screened in porch watching an eagle flare and scoop a fish as the water birds complain of the intrusion and water lapping on the pilings gives cadence to the relaxed life on the lake. My strongest advice is not to miss this experience in your life. Just leave an opening for us again next year. Gary and Mary Ann Reeves Lake Clark National Park, Alaska and North Palm Beach, Florida

Owner response: WOW what a review. What is there to say after that. We have traveled to Alaska several times ourselves and few places on earth can compare to that quality of scenery. Having a review from a couple from Alaska saying such nice things about our scenery really makes me stop and catch my breath. My wife and I have traveled through out Europe and the United States and have only missed 4 states out of 50. Every state has beautiful places to see and natural wonders that can't be missed when you travel there. Like the natural wonders of Yellow Stone, the unbelievable Grand Cannon, the rocky shores of Maine, the breath taking views of Hawaii, and our own Florida Keys. So having a couple from Alaska saying nice things about our home and our natural surroundings is high praise in deed. We are so grateful that they choose our Lake House Blue to find rest and relaxation. Come back again soon Gary and Mary Ann we loved having you as guest.....

Lake House Blue is the perfect getaway, whether for a weekend or a few weeks. We've rented a lot of homes from Stonington, Connecticut to San Blas, Florida and many more in between. Lake House Blue is, without question, the nicest rental we've experienced. The house is unique to begin with, built on pilings 200 feet from shore. There is an unobstructed view from every room in the house. You'd think that should be enough to satisfy anyone, but the owner's have not missed one detail for a rental. The kitchen has all the amenities you need, The TV satellite connection is great, and the wi-fi signal is strong. The rooms themselves are furnished tastefully, and the decor, of course, is a fishing theme with flyrods, canoe shelves, and on and on. There is a screened porch where the grill is located, and the deck around the house is great for fishing. The beds are also very comfortable. Crescent City offers a great selection of antique stores, and a guitar shop that has a great selection of vintage and new instruments. The surrounding towns also boast plenty of shopping. The restaurants in the area are plentiful, but we spent both our free evenings at the Three Bananas. The food and cocktails were terrific, and the servers and local clientele were genuinely friendly. Shopping at the two large grocery stores is right up the block from the lake and can be accessed by either car or golf cart. On a scale of 1-5, I rate Lake House Blue a solid "10"!

Owner response: Experenced travelers are Lake House Blue's best friends. People who rent a lot of houses know the difference between a properly furnished house and one that is just trying to get by. We are so grateful to have guest of this calliber stay in our home. We love knowing that all our little details are appreciated. With nature doing all the real work on the outside the lease we can do is make a comfortable setting on the inside. Thanks guys for visiting Lake House Blue, we were so glad to have you.....

What an unforgettable time we had in this very charming Lake house. Each morning we would get up and say I think this an incredibly house. While cooking breakfast and looking out window, the view of the lake was spectacular . It has all the amenities that you could ask for spacious , comfortable and a well equipped home. The beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed the taste of decorating in Lake house. The living area had the perfect atmosphere to sit back and relax. The very large screen TV was a big plus. We enjoyed the passing boats which was viewable from all the room in the house. For all the fishing people of the world, you couldn't ask for a nicer, serene , place to fish! We did enjoy catching fish and throwing them back in! The town is absolutely charming , the ladies enjoyed the antique shops. Shopping for food was only minutes away. Frank and I, along with are friends of 42 years, had a very memorable vacation! Would highly recommend this very different perfect getaway destination. It is now # 1 on our list and we hope to be back soon! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! Cathy & Frank (Dunedin , FL)

Owner response: Thanks Cathy and Frank, It is always so nice to have guess enjoy our vacation home and love the things that we love. We have worked thirty years on our vacation home to make it comfortable and charming for our guess. Our favorite guess are people who have traveled a lot and share with us their experiences with other rentals so we know what we are doing right or wrong. These guest gave us a lot of feedback, and we appreciate that very much and we are very flattered by their comments. Frank also had some suggestions that are worth careful consideration. We hope these two busy couples will find the time to come back and visit us again in the future, because you can never get tired with this quality of guest......Thanks guys we loved having you at Lake House Blue......

We needed some quality family-time and this house provided that and more. We were awestruck upon arrival and the good times and memory making moments continued until work forced us to return home. Your house is even better than the pictures portray it to be. Every window is a perfect frame of God's beauty. Our teenagers wanted to be outside enjoying nature instead of tied to their electronic devices- Thank You. We saw manatees, alligators and birds; caught fish & crab, enjoyed the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, enjoyed several of the area springs that are a short drive away, shopped the local antique stores (but left some for next visit) and visited the great family local restaurants, The portions at Spanky's Italian are great and the fish sandwich at 3 Bananas was awesome. We didn't even mind the evening rain shower because of the amazing views thru all of the living room windows we had to watch it thru. We will definitely be back to visit...... this home had it all for a very reasonable rate. Mr. Dean is so accomodating and they have really created a little piece of heaven on earth in the small town of Crescent City.

Owner response: What a great family with two teenage kids. It is not always easy to fine a place that the kids can have a good time while the parents get some much needed rest. I am glad we were able to provide both at Lake House Blue...Lori and Rodd we loved having your family vacation with us....Thank you...

This place is one in a million for sure! My family of four had a wonderful time at lake house blue. Relaxing is not a problem at this home and you have everything you need right around you! Fishing, crabbing and seeing wildlife all at once and a 360° view ...cant be beat! To top the vacation off we saw a manatee on our stay, came right up the side of the pier. We will definitely be back to this home in the future. Thanks to Dean and Amy for a very memorable vacation.

Owner response: This family was a delight to have at our lake house. Seeing a manatee!! We wish we could guarantee a sighting for every guest, they are such beautiful creatures. Having a lake that is connected to the ocean sometimes presents some unusual features. The occasional Bald Eagle and the Ospreys are usually what everyone sees the most of. We are looking forward to a return visit from this great family. They are always welcome.....
