Contemporary Loft Apartment in Historic Downtown Quincy

Stay in a contemporary attic loft apartment in historic downtown Quincy. The home was built in 1906 and completely remodeled into 3 apartments in 2010. New kitchens, bathrooms, floors, lighting and fans. Inside the traditonal exterior you will find a large contemporary, high-ceilinged, attic space with lots of nooks and interesting dormers. It is furnished with mid-century furniture and art collected by the owner.
This location is ideal because it is steps away from Main Street where most of the restaurants, galleries, theatres, banks, book store and many other interesting businesses are located. You will find a binder in the apartment describing the many businesses in Quincy and the surrounding area. In addition, Quincy is in the center of a myriad of outdoor recreation areas. Fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, mountain biking, road cycling and hiking are just a few of the opportunities you'll have in this beautiful place.
Also check out the many local events, Farmer's Market (held on Thursdays from June through mid-September) and live music.

Absolutely the BEST place to stay in Quincy!! Elegantly modern, yet furnished with some stunning antiques, impeccably clean, amazing art collection, large flat screen perfect for movies, sports or news and did I mention the luxurious bed!!! From the sheets to the pillows and comforter, your slumber will be deep and refreshing!! My husband and I have stayed here many days and nights while visiting our son who is a student on the Feather River College Baseball Team and have been meaning to write a review as this loft is definitely the "only" place to ever stay when in Quincy! Spacious, light and bright with everything you could possibly need to just relax or if you feel like cooking the kitchen is fully equipped (especially with a stop at the great health food store just down the street for your groceries!). Stop clicking if you have been lucky enough to find this posting and just book it! You will love every minute of your stay in the "The Loft!"Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you, Janet and Mark. I will include, in the welcome binder, a section about the artwork found at the Loft. All of the artists are personal friends or pieces that I have collected on travels. This is an artful town which includes musicians, fine artists, craftspersons and others of fine sensibility. I encourage anyone visiting Quincy and the other areas of Plumas County to seek out the talented artists found here.

This loft was recently updated, very clean and quiet and located within walking distance of downtown which is very convenient. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of books and magazines to read, and we appreciated the fact that it was dog friendly. My only suggestion is if visiting in the summer months, you may want to bring an oscillating fan as it did tend to heat up during the day. The stairs leading up to the loft (3rd floor) are also quite steep. We would certainly stay here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway.
Owner response: An oscillating fan is now available at the Loft, thanks for the suggestion. Also, instructions for keeping the space cool in the summer months by using the opening skylights, have been added to the welcome book.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: I found Quincy and beautiful Plumas County in 2004 and have been happy here ever since. I like to cycle, hike, kayak, raft, back country ski and swim in the nearby streams and rivers. Reilly and I travel and many times stay in VRBO rentals.
Why the Owner Chose Quincy:
I live outside of Quincy and wanted a place in town. So I created an attic loft in an historic (1906) home I own. It then occurred to me that others may want to experience our delightful town and surrounding areas. I hope you enjoy it too!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
I love to get up in the morning and go to the Alley Cat for a great cup of coffee and then Reilly and I take a walk on the local 'bike path' where there is no motorized traffic. The loft is 1/2 block from Main Street where you will find restaurants, galleries, cinema, theatre, banks, a fabulous Co-op market, bakery and deli. There is a furniture store, cafes, department store, antique shops, thrift stores, a book store, a candy store, hair salons, too many businesses to mention. It is a complete little town. On many nights there is live music, especially on the weekends. We have bars, compounding pharmacy, stationers, gift shops. Check the Plumas Arts calendar for events like artist's openings, live music and theatre. Quincy is home to the HIgh Sierra Music Festival in late June, the Plumas Sierra County Fair (with a not-to-be-missed Parade) in August, and Sparkle, the first Friday in December. A light parade, carolers, tree lighting and merchants hosting open houses, some with live models in the windows. Our Halloween in-town Safe Trick or Treat is a wonder with hundreds of costumed children (and their parents!) going from business to business. Charming.
