Pelican's Perch Chateau is HIlton Heads gem and we just reduced April from $5400 to $5000 base rate - this is a home to revel in. Designed & set up to meet your every desire, it has it all.. With 7 bedrooms, 10 baths (8 full) it sleeps 22 with a library that can be used as an 8th sleeping room ($500 fee). We will also convert the double twin room to a King bed for a $150 fee. Ellevated 19' above sea level, the better to catch the ocean breezes & improving security & the view. Conveniently, the pool & screened patio are at the 2nd floor level, so from the kitchen or family room you can watch the kids in the pool. Views are woodland views. Outdoor kitchen & seating area with heater, poolside full bath with steam shower. The path out the back door puts you 1 short block (5 homes) from the beach access, & I provide a large wheeled cart with cooler (ice maker), boogie boards, and assorted beach paraphernalia etc. Newly created Backyard Beach is a large area of new white sand amidst palm trees in the backyard, with chaise, chairs, fully enclosed yard/lockable gates. Fully stocked game room, ping pong, pool etc.
An Exquisite Executive Home with Game Room: Gourmet kitchen with a 6 burner Viking (V) gas stove, V refrigerator, 2 V dishwashers, Vconvection oven, 2 V wine coolers (one is in home theatre), Kitchenaid microwave, second sink, spices provided. The kitchen is very large with pull out shelves, plenty of storage. Don't want to be stuck inside while everyone else is out at the pool? 3 steps down from the kitchen is a covered outdoor kitchen (poolside) with a Jenn Air gas grill with burner, a refrigerator, & a sink. The outdoor room & pool are oriented so that they get sunshine most of the day, but if the night turns chilly there is a propane heater.
All rooms have ceiling fans, lovely baths,large closets. There are 5 cooling systems in the house to help individualize your comfort. There is a cozy library, an awesome home theatre and a gorgeous yard.

Meeting Your Every Desire: The formal dining room (seats 12+), the kitchen eating area & the bar seating are augmented by the outdoor kitchen's island, so whether you are having a formal dinner or looking for a place to share a snack, you have plenty of seating.
We've worked to fulfill your every desire: from wine frigs to ice maker, high speed free wireless internet, wireless printer, enhanced router, flat screen TVs in every bedroom, (DVDs in 5 bedrooms, cablebox in Master & Theatre), DVR in family room, 65/67' flat screens in Home Theatre (Blue Ray DVD) & Family room, high end cable, state-of-art appliances & electronics, stereo at pool & throughout house (with an IPOD doc into the system), video & book library, rain shower, steam shower, restaurant guide, pool & beach toys & places to read & relax in every room (not to mention the library). Owner provides an 'Oops I Forgot My ______' drawer full of items you may have forgotten to pack. This is what the perfect vacation home should be.
Outdoor Living Room/Kitchen/Beach at Home: Want to sit out at night but avoid the mosquitoes & no-see-ums? This home has a completely covered pool with screened atrium above & screen all around. It is a large pool 13 by 22 feet with a built in spa, toys for kids & the pool is heatable for an additional fee. Light mist falling but kids still want to swim? The pool is covered by a screened atrium roof 20? feet high. There is a seating area in this covered lanai as well as a roofed outdoor kitchen... a bit of bad weather is not a big deal in this home. The backyard has a new 'Beach at Home' - a large sand area enhanced by flowering plants
State of the art Home Theatre with 65 inch flat screen TV, surround sound , media loungers, frig, sink etc. There is a library with a gas fireplace for that getaway place to read your favorite book or borrow one of mine, complete with a gaming table in the upstairs foyer. Can't overstate the accommodations. It was perfect for 4 adults and 8 kids and even could have handled a set of grandparents. Nicest place we've ever stayed based on amenities, space, condition of house, and location to beach. Would love to use this floor plan for our house back in Alabama. The open floor plan that other reviews complain about was actually helpful for us to be able to see what kids were doing downstairs and to communicate between floors. The elevator was also a nice touch moving in and moving out. VERY well equipped (don't know what we would have done without the beach buggy and extra dishwasher) and the owner has certainly thought of everything. Thanks for a wonderful vacation that hopefully becomes an annual event!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We recently returned from a family reunion (20 people) held at Pelican's Perch. What a wonderful house! Even with so many people, the house never felt in the least crowded. The 8 children in the group loved the pool, home theatre, backyard 'beach' and downstairs game room (as did the adults). The bedrooms were all spacious and comfortable, each with a private en suite bath. The kitchen had every imaginable gadget needed..with 20 people eating in for most meals, the 2 dishwashers were a blessing. ( We also grilled outside by the pool one evening.) Pelican is a quick walk to the beach; we all enjoyed time in swimming or just walking along the ocean every day. This home gets our highest recommendation; everyone in the family loved it. We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This exquisite home should definitely be the top choice when traveling to Hilton Head Island. My stay at this beautiful home could not have been a better choice for my first visit to the island. The location is great, only a block from the beach and a short bicycle ride or walk to town. The theater has all the amenities; comfortable chairs, surround sound, and even a mini fridge so you do not have to go far for refills. You can tell each room is decorated with a unique and personal touch. The kitchen is well equipped for all your dining needs. This vacation home is well maintained and all needs are quickly fulfilled. This house is not only your home away from home, but better!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This 5 * home is simply outstanding & truly exceptional and would certainly go beyond anyones expectations with respect to accommodations and equipment provided. My wifes family & I including her sister from Italy spent 10 days over Xmas period at this fabulous home. 18 of us stayed, & 22 dined nightly. All meals were prepared from scratch including home made pastas & sauces along with rare Italian cookie delicacies. Kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. Anything additional you may require, the owner Kathleen would provide and is very accommodating. The outdoor kitchen and pool area is a guys delight! Home is very spacious and provides for many areas for your own space, if so desired. Linens are great as is the CLEANLINESS and maintenance of the home. The children certainly enjoyed the "backyard beach". The actual beach is only a block away. I highly recommend this home for a truly memorable experience.Did you find this review helpful? This house has it all! About the only thing this house does not have is a bowling alley. The grounds were immaculate. The owner even decorated the inside and outside for Christmas. Too many amenities to mention. The only negative aspect of the layout was the greatroom being open to the second floor. Any noise in the greatroom was amplified to the upstairs. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend.Owner response: We may not have a bowling alley, but we do offer a bocci ball set for your enjoyment! The key to noise control is to have late night parties in the expansive game room on the 1st floor or out on the 2nd floor lanai/poolroom/kitchen or to ask 3rd floor guests to close their bedroom doors (or stay up and join in the fun:) We have more options than any other house we know of in the area, including a personal beach in the backyard which is yet another party area. Come visit - you won't regret it.

We had a wonderful time at the rental on Pelican. The home was everything plus more. The kitchen was enormous and allowed several cooks to prepare food without getting in each others way. The pool was heated adequately and the steambath was a nice touch. The only negative thing I could say about the property was that was the second floor was open to the greatroom below. This arrangement created noise which woke some guests early as well as keepng them awake at night when trying to sleep. Too many amenities to mention. I would certainly stay here again and recommend the property to a friend.Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We purchased this property in late 2010 from a private family that built it in '06/'07 as a family vacation home with all of the amenities. When they found they didn't use it much they sold it so it is new to the rental market. We invested to turn it into the ideal rental, putting flat screen into every bedroom, adding Blue Ray, a huge family room TV, a game room Tv. Then we added a small pool table, air hockey and numerous other games. We upgraded and enlarged the dining room to seat 12, added multiple chaise and chairs on the elevated lanai and painted. After that, we enclosed the backyard, put in 200 tons of white sand and made a beach in the backyard for you to enjoy. This is a beautiful home fully equipped for your enjoyment.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
This house is big enough to have a large group of 22 sleep and yet has so many places for them to spread out into that you never feel crowded.
The owner has a 400 hour annual Maintenance and Repair Program on this house and is in ideal condition. It has a huge garage under the entire footprint of the house that can hold 7 cars. The yard if fully enclosed with lockable gates for your protection. The landscaping is gorgeous with hundreds of plants and scented flowering plants.
The house has a first class security system with one call button for fire, police or ambulance.
