Enjoy the serenity and solitude of this well-appointed vacation home. Nestled in a wooded lot a block away from a beautiful, private Lake Michigan beach, it's the perfect get-away. The beach is one of the largest, most scenic and most accessible in the area. You can walk or drive and park right at the beach, no stairs. The property is surrounded by woods and gardens with secluded deck and hot tub, in a private gated community.
Three bedroom, plus sleeper sofa, two full baths, it sleeps eight people. Master suite on the first floor has a queen size bed, perfect for the senior members of the family. Large bedroom on second floor is set up for kids and families with a trundle and queen size bed in one room. The third bedroom has a queen.
The interior is tastefully appointed with two wood-burning fireplaces, new appliances - including washer and dryer, and central air conditioning.
The house is in a quiet, beach association neighborhood. There are tennis courts and a park for viewing the sunset. Several world-class golf courses are within minutes of Glenn Haven Shores.
Near the country town of Glenn, it’s just 10 minutes from the shopping, dining and culture in Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven. An easy two hour drive from the Chicago Loop, and less than three hours from Metro Detroit. Only 45 minutes from Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo.

Why the Owner Chose Saugatuck
We fell in love with the lakefront from South Haven to Saugatuck when we were residents of Kalamazoo many years ago. In the interim we moved to Chicago, and as much as we loved the city, we missed the peace, quiet and beauty of this area. We hoped to build a vacation home and searched for many years for the perfect location. We found Glenn Haven Shores to have the best beach in the area and bought a lot in the early 90s. We were lucky enough to be able to move here permanently and bought this vacation house in 2002 and a residence in Douglas.
The Unique Benefits at this House
It's all about the big, beautiful beach. It's shared with the other members of our association, but there's always plenty of room to spread out. In the off season and during the week, there's a pretty good chance you will have the beach to yourself. It's also very accessible to seniors and small children in that you can drive down and park right at the beach. Most beaches in this area are only accessible with hundreds of stairs. A problem if you forget something once you get down there!
You can also build a campfire on the beach and roast marshmallows with the family. This is the unique benefit of the private beach.
The other thing we enjoy is how quiet and dark it is. On a clear night you can sit in the hot tub and see stars forever.

We moved from the city of Chicago in 2002 and have loved every minute of living in this area. We spent a few days after Thanksgiving at the Beachwood. A great winter getaway. Cold wind blowing outside, fireplace inside, the best! Love the hottub! Especially impressed with all the amenities.

Beautiful in the fall! This is a great location....close to everything, yet not too close. We enjoyed biking on the Kal-Haven trail, and long walks with our dogs! Close enough to great restaurants and shopping. (Salt of the Earth and Saugutuck). The setting of the home is so beautiful.....trees everywhere, and we saw deer and wild turkeys. The private beach is gorgeous. The accommodations were comfortable, with 2 wood burning fireplaces. Very peaceful.....just what we needed! Thank you Mary!

I stayed for the long Columbus Day weekend and truly had a wonderful experience! The weather was in the 80's each day, which is a bonus in October! The house is perfectly situated for privacy in the woods, with a great hot tub on back deck, and a short walk to the association access to the beach. (Or if you prefer, you can drive and park your car at the access) There are several picnic tables for you to use and miles of beach to walk in either direction---and no crowds! I brought my dog and the beach and association are very dog friendly. Plenty of local antique stores, shopping, farm stands nearby. Saugatuck and South Haven minutes away---both with great restaurants, wine tasting and shopping. House has all amenities necessary for cooking and relaxing. No soap or shampoo or hair dryer, so bring your own toiletries. Plenty of house towels--bring your own beach towels. No television reception, but owner supplies plenty of movies to choose from. Bring your own for added selections! With two bedrooms and one bath up, and master suite with bath on first floor, this house is easy for two families to share. Both family room and dining room have fireplaces. The back deck has plenty of chairs, gas grill and fire pit. A great price and great location----I'll be back!

The home is lovely and the grounds beautiful. Fireplace, hot tube and private beach made our stay so special....an incredible way to relax! I would suggest this property to anyone from those looking for a romantic spot to folks looking for a fun vacation with the kids...absolutely perfect.

A group of gal friends and I rented this house for the weekend in February. Our stay was excellent! We settled in to watch tv while we chatted and knitted in front of the fire, relaxed in the hot tub outside (and got dusted by snowflakes!), and really loved being able to prepare our own meals in the full kitchen. The proprietors were very friendly - we had some trouble with the tv our first night (the speakers seemed as though they may have been blown out by other renters and the dvd player was wonky) but the next morning someone came to the house and replaced the dvd player and checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Renting from them was easy, and they were very helpful and accommodating. We definitely recommend this place as a great vacation home!
