My husband and I just wanted to let you know that we have had a wonderful time at Stoneharbor Cottage for the last two weeks). We have been coming to St John for about 10 years now, staying at a different place each year, and can say truthfully that we think this was the finest property we have ever rented. We specifically appreciated the absolute cleanliness of the home, the quality of the furnishings, bedding, linen, etc., the high speed internet connection, the library of books and movies, the awesome clean, clear and warm (80 degrees) pool, the quality beach chairs, the well stocked kitchen, etc. We could go on but suffice it to say that this place has it all done right and was perfect for us. The large screened in porch allowed us to keep the double doors to the living room open at all times, rain or shine, making us feel like we were living outdoors without the hassle of worrying about bugs or rain blowing in. This is a very functional and well designed home. As many others have said, it's location is perfect with just a` short walk down to the bar, restaurant, grocery store and other stores at Cocoloba. we have stayed at places much higher up on the hills of Coral Bay with fantastic picture postcard views of the harbor down below. But this time we really enjoyed being "closer to the action" with closer view of all the boats in the harbor along with the sites and sounds of all the activity going on below us including the live music coming from Aqua Bistro on most nights. Thank you making your home a perfect place to for us to enjoy and call "home" for two weeks.

This was a perfect vacation cottage; clean, comfortable and close to market, restaurants and short distance off main road. We snorkeled at Saltpond, Lameshur, and Haulover Bays which were a short and interesting drive away. We could walk to Aqua Bistro and Lily' s Market which was very convenient. The screened porch was our favorite spot for coffee and breakfast. Coral Bay is the best side of the island, away from the crowds in Cruz Bay. We would love to return with the grandkids. This is truly paradise!

We recently returned from Paradise, Coral Bay, St John. I was last there in 1996 and it was a first for my wife. We decided to celebrate out 13th anniversary by renting in Coral Bay. After spending much time searching for a place we decided on Stone Harbor and we are glad we did. The view of Coral Bay was spectacular. The house was open and in inviting. We spent many a night walking to Aqua Bistro and eating there or bringing food back to Stone Harbor to eat on the porch. The mahi mahi and tuna are delicious. We found Stone Harbor to be beautiful and clean not to mention in a great and convenient location to the market and restaurants. The beaches on the north shore were closed the first few days we were there, as they were rough after Hurricane Sandy had just passed by. So we explored the east and south side and found Salt Pond and Little Lameshur which were very secluded and had great snorkeling The pool was nice for a quick dip and we enjoyed hanging out on the deck. We rented a jeep for the week which is a must and explored the island seeing many a donkey and goat wandering on the road This is what makes this island so charming. We have been to many islands in the Caribbean but none compare to St John. We will be back and hopefully will stay at Stone Harbor. .

We had planned to have another couple with us for this trip, but at the last minute they couldn't come. We were kind of glad it turned out that way after we saw the layout. It would have been a little uncomfortable having another couple here. The loft has no privacy, and no place for the couple staying there to change or store their things. We loved having the space to ourselves, and having 2 bathrooms was great when coming back from the beach at the end of the day. Other great things about this place: location - right above Lily's Market, hearings live music from Aqua Bistro at night, views, of course! - well equipped kitchen - supplied beach chairs and coolers - great pool with noodles! - did I mention the views? and the location? We loved this place, and will definitely stay here again if we're by ourselves.

This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we had a wonderful time. The house was great (clean and well-maintained). We especially enjoyed the screened in porch. It was nice to be able to do some laundry and we enjoyed the beach chairs and the coolers. We never got around to using the pool, but the pool man came when we were there and it was clean. The view was fantastic. We rented a jeep - expensive but worth it- and checked out several different beaches. Francis Bay was easily accessible, yet not very crowded. Skinny Legs was probably our favorite place to eat. We enjoyed the Reef Bay Hike which we booked thru The Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park. The guest books at the house had good ideas for activities. We enjoyed it so much that we would like to go back

We stayed at the house last week, April 14-20. It exceeded our expectations. It is only about 10 years old and is in excellent shape. The loft bed upstairs was perfectly suitable for two adults, and we spent the first couple nights there with perfectly comfortable cool breezes and beautiful view out the window to the harbor. The ladder is a little tricky if you have to get up in the middle of the night, but all part of the adventure. The pool was completely private with beautiful views and great at night or as a break from the beach. There is some shade in the afternoon, so one can soak and not get roasted. The screened in porch was great for eating our meals, grilling, and enjoying the harbor. Even the shower has a nice view of the harbor. The house was tastefully decorated and the stonework was beautiful, in keeping with the island traditions of inserting shells and coral between the large stones. The location was perfect, with easy access to a market and restaurants by foot. We really enjoyed Coral Bay and found it much more relaxed than the Cruz Bay side of the island, where we have stayed before. Salt Pond Bay was our new favorite beach (sea turtles) and enjoyed the Rams Head trail. We rented our car in St. Thomas and took the car barge over. This worked out great. There is a greater selection of vehicles in St. Thomas and the rates are better. Even with the car barge, you are ahead in price. It also allowed us to load up with some groceries before heading over to St. John where everything is more pricey. The house can easily accommodate four adults or a small family. The bedroom downstairs has air conditioning and a king size bed, but is not connected to the upstairs. This might not be ideal for a family with small children. Miss Lucy's was great for both Sunday brunch and dinner. It is right on the water, the food is great, and it is a relaxed unpretentious atmosphere.

We had a wonderful experience at Stone Harbor. Great views off screen porch. ( Think morning coffee and Happy Hour). The amenities were above and beyond what we have had in other rentals. Pool was great. The near-by restaurants were excellent (Shipwrecked, Miss Lucy's, and The Tourist Trap). The beaches and snorkleing on this end of the island are best.

We stayed at Stone Harbor Cottage in May 2011 for my daughter’s destination wedding. I had never been to the Caribbean before and had no idea what to expect. We got off the plane in St. Thomas and I wanted to go home. Dirty, too busy and hot... Then we got into a van / cab and headed to the ferry... When we got to the ferry and boarded I saw Paradise!!! Our St. John!!!! That's when I got excited and stopped thinking my daughter had lost her mind not getting married at HOME ... We docked and met our house guide... We rented a jeep, I think a must, just so you can be on your own schedule and come and go as you please... We followed her to Stone Harbor Cottage and were just blown away. I'm a clean freak and very picky. The cottage was spotless and very neat. The master suite downstairs was the best ever!!! We had a king size bed for my 6'5" husband. We slept so sound each and every night. Also being away from all the 30 year olds partying in Cruz Bay this was our safe haven.... If we wanted to go to the busy side we went there. If not we stayed in our own pool, on our side of the island... We snorkeled a different place each day saw many wonderful sea life and the little shopping market along with the bar at the bottom of our driveway was too good to be true after a day of swimming or hiking!!! We became the locals I met all the shop owners when my husband was "napping"... Oh yah and we still had a wedding to attend on Jost Van Dyke at the end of our vacation... I only went into town when we had a wedding dinner or pre get-together to attend, besides that, we did not want to leave Beautiful Coral Bay... Each morning we sat in the Screened in living area and had coffee. We brought all of our food that could be frozen and cooked at the cottage unless we went to skinny legs or a bar in town for a meal...The view is breath taking. You are very close to the ocean there is always a breeze. I was never disappointed about anything during my first visit to St. John...We are planning to vacation in January this year and Stone Harbor Cottage in St. John will always be Our Winter Vacation home!!! Love Love Loved it!!!

My wife and I stayed here and absolutley fell in love with the place. The home is beautifully located and maintained. We would start our day with an early swim, breakfast on the deck, a walk and back to the pool. Most afternoons were spent snorkeling on one of the many close but yet remote beaches . We also enjoyed the local and people, shops, and dining in the small community of Coral Bay. I nearly failed to mention the sunrise and sunsets over the bay and of course another evening swim. We can't wait to get back!

Stone Harbor is a wonderful place, we had such a great time there! Just came back - and we miss it already. It has amazing panoramic views of the bay and surrounding hills from the terraces and every window. Though close to the store and the restaurant, its setup on the hill and surrounding trees and plants make it feel secluded. We so much appreciated the upper terrace, fully protected with screens - you can have a sunset dinner outside and enjoy the views not thinking about all the bugs (which are plentiful on St John!) We cooked every day, and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a cabinet full of spices. The house and the pool were very clean and well maintained, there were plenty of beach towels, and they even had coolers and beach chairs. Lily's Market a two minute walk away was a unique advantage. It had all we needed, and allowed us to live without a car. We could also walk to several restaurants in Coral Bay. There is no beach within walking distance, though we were right on the water. We took the bus and taxis to various beaches and hikes, and enjoyed our stay tremendously!
