Il Poggetto is a delightful little villa suitable for those who wish to spend relaxing holidays surrounded by the green countryside of Umbria. The villa is of recent construction and respects the classical canons of the farmhouses in the area with open faced stone, ceilings with wooden beams and open faced tiles and floors in terracotta produced in the area. The house is furnished with taste and refined simplicity without forgetting modern comfort. As can be guessed from the name (poggetto = hillock), it is situated on top of a little hill, facing Todi, in a strategic position for those who wish to make tourist and gastronomic excursions in Umbria or in nearby Tuscany. Within easy reach are the historical centres of Todi, Orvieto, Perugia, Assisi, Foligno, Spoleto and also the famous art cities of Siena and Florence.
Interior
The property consists of two floors. The main entrance on the ground floor leads into the living area composed of sitting room, dining room, kitchen and WC. On this floor are also four double bedrooms, two with ensuite bathroom with shower, one with ensuite bathroom with hydromassage tub and one with queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. All the ground floor rooms have French windows giving access to the outside. An internal staircase leads to the first floor with anteroom used as a study, two double rooms, one with queen size bed and both with ensuite bathroom with shower.
Park
The garden extends over a hectare of terraced land with a lawn and embellished by beds of roses and flowering bushes, with old oak trees creating a frame around the garden. The front of the villa is adorned with a colonnade with climbing wisteria and a porch furnished with table, chairs and a built-in barbecue, ideal for outdoor dining. Steps lead down to the swimming pool area with a splendid view over Todi.
Swimming Pool
Open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October, the pool is situated in a panoramic position below the house. It is only a few metres from the house and can be reached by stone steps or by a little road that winds around the house for those who wish to avoid the steps. The pool is of irregular shape, measures 12 x 6 m and has a constant depth of 1.40 m. It is internally faced with PVC and is illuminated at night. Roman steps lead down into the water. The border is in travertine. The solarium area, furnished with sun loungers, deckchairs, little tables and umbrella, has a stone floor. The pool has an outdoor shower with cold water.
