The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, toaster, coffee maker, blender, pots, pans, dishes, utensils... There is an electric grill for outdoor use. The cafe table is ideal for writing in your journal over a second cup of coffee, or for that private dinner for two. Start your day over breakfast, outdoors on our covered veranda, with the scent of basil and a view of Pelican Island.
Intimate and Private: After a day on the water or relaxing on the beach, enjoy a cold drink while watching the sun set over the mountains of Tiburón Island before walking to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Wind up the day with brandy and conversation on the veranda under a clear night sky filled with stars, or moonlight dancing on the water.
Come for a romantic weekend or a week (seventh night is free) and a little “Kino-therapy!”
We respect your wish to spend a healthy visit enjoying the clean air of the Sonoran coast, so we maintain a “No-Smoking Facility” (both in the rooms and on the grounds). To ensure a healthy environment, Pets are Not Allowed.

Two sit-on kayaks (one single, one double) are available (without charge) for your use in the gentle waters outside your door. More adventurous visitors can rent new expedition-style kayaks (less than a block away) to explore the nearby estuary or the tidal pools north of town.
BR B Activities: /B BR Kino Bay is located on the picturesque shores of the Sea of Cortez, and is blessed with one of the most beautiful, and uncrowded, beaches in all of Mexico. Begin your morning with a long walk on this sandy seven mile arc with a view of several islands offshore and excellent shelling areas nearby.
Area Activities: Swim or Kayak in the warm Sea of Cortez, or relax on our broad veranda and watch a Pod of Dolphins swim by. Sometimes you’ll see dozens, even hundreds, of Birds Diving on schools of small fish. The Sea of Cortez is one of the world’s most remarkable natural environments.
Take a Panga Ride to nearby Isla Pelicano to see hundreds of birds nesting among the rocks. Seals and sea lions are often found sunning themselves at the island. Then visit the wreck of a shrimp boat on a nearby beach before pausing for lunch at the oyster shacks in the estuary.
Visit the Seri Museum for an insight into the ways of these ancient peoples. Bargain with a street vendor and take home a handmade basket as a memento of your visit.
Stop at the Casa del Mar Museum to learn about the Sea of Cortez and the ecology of the Sonoran desert. Check out the local campus of Prescott Collete and their on-the-water courses. Go Whale Watching in February and March, or Deep-Sea Fishing year-round.

Quiet Romantic Getaway
Quiet Romantic Getaway
If you are looking for a quiet getaway in a beautifully decorated and maintained casita with tropical landscaping this is the place for you! This casita is just the right size for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed the large balcony with its comfortable lounge chairs and sea views very much. The casita comes with a electric bbq and we found ourselves sipping cocktails on the balcony at sunset while fresh fish from the local fish market grilled. We saw pelicans and terns fishing, a large pod of dolphins and late one afternoon we heard seals and sure enough there were two of them fishing right in front of the casita. The casita also comes with 2 really nice kayaks, beach chairs and umbrellas. The owners were traveling during our stay and their representative, Elaine, was very helpful and friendly while at the same time never intruding on our privacy. We will be back again and again!

WONDERFUL FIRST TIME VACATION EXPERIENCE
WONDERFUL FIRST TIME VACATION EXPERIENCE
I want to thank Elaine for making our first family vacation so comfortable for my family and myself. We had such a wonderful and relaxed time on the beach and I could honestly say we felt like as if we were home away from home. My five year old daughter kept telling me "Mom I think Elaine is really nice" I would recommend anyone to come and stay at Casa Tortuga because of the hospitality and the cleaniness of the home, thank you Elaine for making us feel right at home especially when it was really windy on one of the days that we were there, there was a lot of movies to choose from and we went to old Kino and bought a freshly made pizza (that was delicious) and called it a night (there's nothing like a movie night especially with a ocean view) We had a GREAT time! Thank you Carolyn, Arely

Kino Bay Getaway
Kino Bay Getaway
We loved our stay at Perry and Carolyn's beautifully restored home right on the beach at Kino Bay. Theirs has been a labor of love to transform a run down, uninspired old beach house to a beautiful home, perfect in its setting, for guests and themselves. They are very nice folks, tuned in to their environment and respecting it.

What a delightful place to stay and right on the beach too! We could not have been more pleased with our accomodations and the setting was amazing. Beautiful sunsets and the weather was perfect. Our hosts, Carol and Perry helped us to find great places to eat and even invited us to one of the functions at their club. They introduced us to the Seri Indians that are their friends and we traded and bought some wonderful souvenirs. We are looking forward to another visit and hopefully sooner than later.

Wonderful Beach Spot
Wonderful Beach Spot
Casa Torguga was everything we wanted in a Mexico get-away: right on a beautiful beach; affordable; charming and comfortable apartment; lovely outside patio facing the beach and bay; and incredibly welcoming and helpful hosts: Carolyn and Perry. We're already planning to go back next year. Carolyn and Perry were particularly helpful getting us oriented as we'd never driven to Mexico before, nor made our way around Kino Bay. We have already highly recommended this place to two different friends (one of whom is there as we write!). Looking forward to our next visit!

A Dream Realized
A Dream Realized
We needed to relax and it couldn't have been better. The week after Easter found us alone on miles of beach. Fresh seafood every night in the welcoming village. Comforttable room, all our kitchen needs (if we were to need them) and a postcard view. This is the meaning of "get away."

We enjoyed greatly our stay in the Tortuga studio. The studio was beautifully decorated with comfortable and beautiful amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed for the small meals we prepared, and Owners provided our studio with the other necessities. The best part of the room though was that we were lulled to sleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing right outside our window. The accommodations provided a great opportunity to relax right on the beach but centrally located to restaurants and markets. Owners were there to greet us in the morning with all of the beach equipment we could ask for including chairs, floats, and even kayaks. The large patio downstairs with all of its wonderful furniture provided us with a great place to hide from the sun for a while and eat our meals. Everything about our accommodations made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and certainly well-entertained. Owners provided us with a warm welcome as well as anything we needed or could ask for. They offered us anything we needed and were willing to give directions and recommendations whenever we asked. They were very welcoming but also respected our privacy. I can't wait to go back!

About the owner: We retired to Kino, bought and renovated this old house for ourselves, and added a couple of guest apartments for family and friends. Well, guess what? Family and friends don't come all the time, so se started renting. And now renters often end up as friends and like family. We refer to ourselves as the accidental innkeepers!
Why the Owner Chose Bahia Kino (Kino Bay):
On my. Let me count the 'whys'! Well, it's on the most beautiful beach! It's quiet, and peaceful. During an early morning beach walk, you might meet one or two other people – but not always! We always wanted to live by the sea but never dreamed it would be possible. Now we wake up every day and feel grateful for our good fortune. Also, it's not too far to drive back to the U.S. to see family — or for them to come see us.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Sunsets, great seafood, our organic garden, Kino folks, Mexican culture...it's tough to beat!
