We loved this place. A gorgeous home with an amazing view. We would go there again if there could be one little tweak. The bunkbeds have plastic mattress covers. While this may be good for bedwetting toddlers, it was a real challenge for the four men who stayed in that room. They said the sheets stuck to their skin and the beds were noisy whenever they rolled over. Two of them indicated that it hindered there ability to sleep. Please consider putting real mattress covers over the plastic ones. With that one change, we'll probably come back next year. It is truly a wonderful property!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great home with a PHENOMINAL view! The house was well stocked and very comfortable. We rented the house for a family gathering and enjoyed hiking at DeSoto State Park and viewing the many waterfalls in the area. The upscale stove with an indoor grill was a great experience as we perfer to cook our meals. The outdoor fireplace was our favorite as it allowed for protection from the wind and great outdoor experiences. I would HIGHLY recommend this home and will book again for future gatherings!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family had such a great time visiting. This was a perfect place to stay. The pictures do not do it justice. The owner was great to work with as well. The only thing you need to bring to this house is yourselves. We highly recommend staying here. It's close to everything. Desoto Falls is a must see.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Mentone Dream was the perfect mountain house for our big group...absolutely beautiful!! Great location for just getting away, or hiking and exploring Desoto State Park and the little town of Mentone. Mentone Dream is an awesome vacation rental. Excellent layout, incredible view from the back porch. Very well done inside. Really was a great fit for our extended family for my son's wedding. My only complaint is the air conditioning. Seems a little undersized, but it was 102 degrees outside. Overall, I still give it 5 stars and would highly recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property was exactly as advertised: a Mentone Dream. My family and I vacationed for a few days in June and the weather was great, not to hot/not to cold. The house was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was so large and equipped with everything we needed. The area attractions made for an enjoyable time. We rock climbed, kayaked, swam, fished, golfed, went sight seeing and so much more. We plan on returning.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is the perfect home for a family gathering. The home offered everything we had expected and then some, absolutely Beautiful and Very Clean. The view is truly beautiful with each afternoon offering amazing sunsets. From the moment we arived to the time we left the home was filled with much love and laughter simply because of the comfort and oh so many places to see in the area. We had hoped for snow and had none, instead we took in the caverns and waterfalls. Again Awesome views! My extended family hadn't been together for Christmas in 5 years and never on New Years. This was the perfect place to spend the perfect Holiday's together. I do plan on returning one day in the near future.................Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Mentone Dream was exactly as described and MORE. I rented this house for my extended family's Christmas dinner. It was in a centralized location for all of us. Some came for just the day. Some stayed all weekend. The house is beautiful. The view from the back porch is to die for. Lots of room for catching up with family.Recommended for: Girls getaway

Property exactly as described; great location off of Scenic Hwy 98. Top of the line GE Monogram appliances, which you will need because there are not many dining options in Mentone. Our vacation in Alabama and Tennessee was fabulous and the Mentone Dream was an excellent place to retreat to for more fun and relaxation. The home itself is beautiful and most immaculate. The mountain view which is visible from several rooms in the home is quite picturesque. Our family and friends really enjoyed whitewater rafting in the Ocoee River and the Incline Railway in Chattanooga. We spent one day just relaxing on the deck at the Mentone Dream and playing board games. I plan to return and have a girls getaway next time. Thanks Vicki for everything and being so prompt in regards to my questions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This property really is a dream place to vacation. The home and the view are both spectacular. I enjoyed having my coffee each morning on the back deck before we went out for the day. The location allowed me to have that small town mountain feel while also only being a hop a way from many attractions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was such a lovely place to stay. Everything in this home is first class. First, the view is spectacular. A panoramic unobstructed view of the valley and hills in the distance. There was an awesome fire pit in the back where we roasted marshmallows, potatoes and hotdogs. The beds are super comfy with the most luxurious bedsheets and thick puffy comforters on top. There are 3 huge plasma TV's in the house with every single movie channel on the satellite activated. When we arrived, the house was immaculately clean and had that brand new home smell. We felt like we were the 1st ones to stay there, even though others had been before us. The master bedroom is stunning. Heavy four poster bed with wrought iron top. Master bathroom is huge with this amazing waterfall shower head mounted in the ceiling. The tub is super deep. Our son (7 years old) really enjoyed taking deep water bubble baths. Our daughter loved the room with the bunk beds. There is this alcove window where she sat and played with her model horses for hours. I really liked the den upstairs with another huge flat screen TV. We watched many scary movies with the volume way up, the door shut and did not disturb anyone else in the house. Our kids also really liked the huge bean bag chairs when reading or watching TV. Since there is not much in the way of eating out in Mentone (Though the Wildflower Cafe is a must visit, especially when they have live music)....we used the heck out of the kitchen with all top of the line stainless appliances. The range top is gas fired with a grill in the center for steaks, etc. It really is a dreamy place, beautifully appointed and far exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay again. My family, from many different states, met here for a late holiday gathering. It was a wonderful treat; the house is beautiful, as is the view during both day and night. My grandmother said she felt like royalty! The photos just don't do it justice. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. The folks at Mentone Market were very helpful and had a nice selection of necessary items that prevented the drive to Ft. Payne. Desoto Falls is a must-see, even in the cold weather. We will definitely consider returning!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

From the time you drive up the mountains and arrive at the private gated entrance you feel like you are in a dream. This is not your ordinary mountain cabin but a gleaming updated masterpiece that would fit in the most upscale of communities. As we parked in the main level 2 car garage and entered through the front door it became immediately evident that this would be an incredible vacation. Words cannot describe the views from every room and especially as we sat on the back deck with a fire warming us all! As we prepared all of our meals in the completely stocked kitchen with all upgraded stainless steel appliances we were trying to figure out a way we could move in for good! My four children loved the huge playroom upstairs equipped with a 50+ inch flat screen TV on the wall, fold out leather sofa, and bunk beds! The other two bedrooms upstairs (one with a private bath and the other with four bunk beds) were immaculately decorated! It was amazing to us how big this house was as it was right on the mountain. The main level master bedroom was incredible with a queen bed, another flat screen TV, and one of the most amazing bathrooms we have seen! The dual shower heads were perfect after a long day skiing on the slopes or visiting Desoto Falls which were both less than 1 mile form the house. Our family took a day trip to Chattanooga and visited the Aquarium, took in a 3D IMAX movie, ate a great lunch, and entered the caverns to visit Ruby Falls. What a great trip! 5 stars do not do this house justice but it is the highest I can give it. I would recommend this to anyone planning a trip to the mountains. Why go anywhere out west when you can have an incredible place to stay with skiing, horseback riding, hiking, great restaurants and attractions right around the corner??!! This beautiful home has every comfort that one could wish for, including a magnificent view of the sunset from the covered porch that overlooks the valley below. There are not words to describe the incredible beauty we enjoyed. The pictures are great on this site, but the do not even come close to what your eyes behold when you arrive at the property. We were so blessed to be there and we enjoyed it so much, we have already asked for another weekend and possibly a second visit.
