Beautiful custom cabin (built in 2007) at 8,500 ft. in the Eastern Sierra Nevada vacation area of North Fork Bishop Creek. An easy drive, 17 miles west and above the town of Bishop lies Aspendell, a small community in the Inyo National Forest off of Highway 168. Within an 8 mile radius you will find beautiful alpine lakes; South Lake, North Lake, Intake Two, Lake Sabrina and Bishop Creek for great views and excellent trout fishing (late April-November 15th). Boat rentals are available at Lake Sabrina and South Lake during the late spring, summer and fall. You can access trail heads that lead to the John Muir Wilderness Trail. Rock climb the Buttermilks. Take day hikes to numerous back country lakes or overnight backpack trips. The town of Bishop features restaurants, shopping, antiquing, golf, Indian casino and the Owens River. Mule Days over Memorial weekend since 1969, where mules compete in 181 events featuring over 700 mules, their trainers, riders and packers. 30,000 fans converge on the Tri-County Fairgrounds to watch events, visit exhibits and fun for the entire family. One hour south of Bishop to Lone Pine, hike Mt. Whitney (the highest point in the continental US) or visit Death Valley (the lowest point in the US). Mammoth Lakes is one hour north of Bishop and features many fine restaurants, shops, entertainment and a world class ski resort with downhill mountain biking in the summer. Inyo and Mono Counties offer many places of interest including Mono Lake, Bodie Ghost Town, The Devil's Post Pile, access to the Kern River and access to Yosemite National Park from the Tioga Pass and much much more.
North Lodge has three levels. The first floor entry is the den with a futon and separate laundry/utility room. The second floor is the main level featuring the great room with picture windows of gorgeous mountain views, the master bedroom with adjoining full bath. Pamper yourself by soaking in the claw foot slipper tub. This level also has a gourmet kitchen to bring out the chef in you. Enjoy the evenings relaxing on the large deck listening to the sounds of birds and the nearby creek while grilling and enjoying a beverage and watching the sunset. The third level has two bedrooms, a full bath and an open loft that sleeps three. Each level has a separate thermostat control, ceiling fans in every room and lots of windows to enjoy the views of the great outdoors. The 1/4 acre lot has a large, flat parking area for several vehicles and RVs. Step out from the front door, walk across the street to North Fork Bishop Creek for fishing, hiking and serenity. Stroll through the quaint neighborhood of Aspendell to Cardinal Village that offers horseback riding, a general store and cafe.

Wow this house is great, better than 5 stars! We found it very comfortable, well appointed and wow are the views spectacular. When we weren't hiking one of the many close by back country trails or fishing the very productive creeks and lakes you could probably find us relaxing on the awsome deck. What a beautiful month in the mountians. Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Wow! Even better than the pictures show. This place is great and in a great location. Close by fishing, hiking, deer watching and deck relaxing! Great corner lot location with all that you will need for a wonderful stay - plenty of linens, beds, dishwasher, coffee maker, tons of games and puzzles for the kids (and adults). Great star gazing, family friendly and just all around awesome. You will love it!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Had a great time fishing, hiking and enjoying the scenery. The owners of this home have furnished it very comfortably and all the conveniences of home were available. A short walk to local streams and an abundance of nearby lakes make for a great fishing experience. Cardinal Village, just down the road, was a great resource for quick meals and sundries that you might need. The owners were very responsive and our stay was very enjoyable in this well maintained, clean home.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This cabin (large 3 story house) and it's surroundings are amazing. You have access to trees, high mountains, lakes, hiking and some of the hardest cycling to be found. I loved relaxing on the deck and listening to the stream a stones throw away. The kitchen is well stocked and roomy and made our stay perfect. I highly recommend a stay here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Very nice house, lot of space, super-well furnished and very comfortable. We had a great experience in the area, stayed for a month to enjoy fully what the surroundings offer. The hiking and the rockclimbing were high on the list, but the house is owned by hard core fishermen that decorated their walls accordingly. We highly recommend you stay there. Won't regret it.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About the owner: We have been married since 1978, have two sons, two daughters in law and four beautiful grandchildren. We fell in love with the Eastern Sierras over 25 years ago and have spent many vacations in the area. It has been our life long dream to own property in what has been described as the hidden jewel of the Eastern Sierras. We purchased the property in 2000, then built our dream house in 2007. We look forward to coming up here as often as we can.
Why the Owner Chose Bishop:
We chose Aspendell because of its beauty. Old growth pine trees surround the lot, the many aspen trees and of course the running creek across the street contribute to the beauty and serenity of the neighborhood. The temperature does not get over 80 degrees in the summer and the evenings are cool and comfortable. This areas is the most beautiful and peaceful place we have ever known.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Sit on the deck or view through the windows the many wildlife such as birds, deer, squirrels, chipmunks and the occasional fox strolling through the property. Gorgeous sunrise and sunsets. The stars are so bright you feel like you can reach up and touch them.
