Year Purchased: 1990
About the owner: In 1989 our family came to Flathead Lake for our first reunion. The impact of this event was so profound that six months later our father bought property on the lake and built The Last Best Place. Our father’s dream was to have a place where his family would want to come together every year near Bigfork, Montana, U.S.A.
Why the Owner Chose Bigfork: Our family has been blessed to have this opportunity come true. In 1997 our father sustained a stroke, which limited his ability to enjoy The Last Best Place. It brought to our attention the importance of barrier free design and accessing the beautiful outdoors. Our family wants to make a difference to the lives of others with disabilities that visitthe Flathead Lake area by accommodating their needs.
The Unique Benefits at this House: “It is our vision and mission to make this place available to other families, particularly those who may have a physical impairment, and to provide an opportunity to share the magic our family experiences each and every year.” The Idler Family
