Misi�n San Francisco de As�s was founded June 29, 1776, under the direction of Father Junipero Serra and is both the oldest original intact Mission in California and the oldest building in San Francisco.
Hands down, the best market in the city. Really fresh, local produce, meat cheese, wine, deli and prepared food take-out. 5 star service. You don't even have to love food to appreciate what they do here.
if you like food, or just like looking at stuff you cant get anywhere else...this is the place to check out. you dont have to be a foodie to appreciate what they do there.
The counter here is Karen's favorite place to go in the neighborhood to eat solo at the counter...or outside at one of the cafe tables with a friend..or two. Everything fresh, perfectly cooked. Tiny, but good list of wines by the glass. Friendly and impeccable service. No reservations and lines--go early on weekdays or at off hours.
Valencia Street, between 16th and 17th is the start of the blocks through 24th Street known as the 'Valencia Street Corridor' full of restaurants, coffee shops, off beat stores, bars and clubs, this is the epicenter of hip in San Francisco.
The F trolley stop, a block and a half from Mission Manor, takes you down Market Street with stops along the way like Union Square, the Nob Hill cable car turnaround, the Tourist Information booth, Westfield Mall, the Ferry Building, Alcatraz ferry piers, Pier 39 amusements, San Francisco Aquarium and Fishermen's Wharf.
