'I need this…old train to breakdown....' says singer-songwriter Jack Johnson. Well, the train has broken down. Welcome to the side of the road. This tranquil spot is 45 minutes from the Samui Airport. You can relax, listen to a little music, and watch the water move back and forth from the deck of our Asian inspired, antique-furnished, tropical love shack.
Walk 30 steps down to the water and see the serene view that sets this land apart. This end of Samui is for meditators and chill-out black belts. You won't find loud music or drunken holidayers. But you might find serenity after breakfast, peace on your way to lunch, and contentment right around sunset.
We are a small, little beachfront bungalow on nearly one acre of land (2.5 rai), facing south with sunset views and plenty of shady trees. There is Wi-Fi, DVDs, a telephone, refrigerator and a great bed.
We are happily located right next door to Kamalaya, a five star, Asian award-winning holistic spa. If you are in the mood for one of the very best treatments on this side of the world, put your flip-flops on, walk down the beach, and visit our neighbor.
There is plenty to do on Samui. Everything you'd find on any other tourist island. But if you want something else; if you want a relaxing, quiet time, at a place where you can recharge your batteries and get the best of what this part of the world has to offer, then come to our bungalow. And enjoy Thailand.

My husband and I stayed at this property early March 2013 for a week and greatly enjoyed our stay. The photos and description of the property are very accurate, and we enjoyed our time in this secluded and quiet part of Koh Samui. We were kindly greeted by the property manager Dolly who is easily accessible to help guests with any questions/needs during their stay. The house was perfect for us as a couple, clean and tastefully decorated. The bed is extremely comfortable, the AC works really well, as does the Wi-Fi. The property is surrounded by lush nature, and the beach is just a few footsteps away. The water is shallow and rocky, but one can choose walks on the beach, meditating, relaxing, and there are areas for possible swimming. The property is quiet, private and very relaxing. It is perfect for those who are independent travellers and well suited to a self-catering atmosphere. Booking the property was also a pleasure, as Steven is quick to reply, very friendly and attentive to address any questions.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We arrived early in March for a 3 night stay. Sometimes pictures look good but the actual appearance doesn't live up to it. This property was exactly as it appears. It was perfectly sized for the 2 of us. The antique bed was really something. Polished concrete floors make good sense for this climate. It is out of the way but that's the point. We rented a scooter a short distance away at Fisherman's and that made all the difference. Getting around was really easy. The beach down below almost feels like a private beach. The water is shallow, particularly at low tide, but we still managed a couple of swims. If you're the type of person that only does all inclusive holidays and likes to insulate yourself from truly experiencing the culture of the country you visit then this isn't for you. If you like some privacy, sitting in the peaceful tranquility and watching the sunset from your deck overlooking the water and like some rustic charm then I would absolutely recommend this property. We are actually trying to re book it for our last 3 nights in Thailand so I think that represents how we feel, about it. Enjoy!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

The "Love Shack" is exactly as described and more. If you are looking for a peaceful place to recharge your batteries, this is it. Far enough away from the madding crowd, yet just a 3 minute walk down those beautiful stone steps to the beach and Kamalaya. I stayed by myself for a month and always felt safe. The property is gated, and the manager just a phone call away. As for the nitty-gritty, the house was very clean, and cleaned weekly during my stay. The air-conditioning top notch, the wifi better than home. There were plenty of fresh towels and extra bedding, and I was able to get my laundry done for a very reasonable price. There are taxi services for sightseeing or trips into town. The beach is somewhat swimmable at high tide, it is very shallow and safe. The reef goes out for about 100 yards at low tide, but the view cannot be beat at any time. A word to the wise: remember you are in the tropics, so be prepared for the fauna that will be around you! And believe me, I had my share of memorable run ins with the local wildlife... Anyway, words can't even begin to describe this little slice of paradise; you just have to experience it for yourself. And I for one am thrilled to see it back on the VRBO market!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We was staying in this wonderful quite place for 3 weeks and didn't have any regrets. It's a good place for relaxing and meditation. House is small but very nice, because of its privacy. Southern part of island is not crowded, the beach in this area is not for swimming as its very shallow, but so beautiful views and rocks. Very good manager Dolly made our stay even more special! Thank you Steven!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We had originally only booked one week at the "love shack" but we got so caught up in enjoying ourselves and relaxing that we decided to cancel the rest of our Thailand plans and stay another week! The bungalow is perfect and very comfortable for two people. It is all that Steven says it is and more. He was very prompt at returning emails, answering questions and working around our schedule. And did I mention that we had our very own beach? Awesome. If you like crowds on beaches, noise and night life this is not the place for you, but If you want to chill out to the sounds of the sea and nothing else, this is the place! We spent our days reading, walking the beaches, and walking into town for dinners. One day we rented a truck to tour around the island which was fun to do, but after all the chaos of being in Chaweng and Lamai we were ready to return to our little piece of paradise. We loved this place! You will too!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My wife and I built this house in 2005. We have subsequently been to Thailand many times and have gotten to know the area well. Our land is one of the most special places on Koh Samui. The tranquility and peacefulness of the area is hypnotic. We are in a very private gated community, 45 minutes south of the airport. No overhead planes or tourist traffic. We are situated between 2 five star resorts, Shasa and Kamalaya.
Why the Owner Chose Koh Samui:
We chose this property for it unique blend of beauty and privacy. The near acre of land the house sits on gives you a sense of serenity not found on the other parts of the island. You will not see your neighbors at all.
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
Beautiful shallow floating beach. South facing front porch and sunsets across Bang Kao bay.
