Irwin, we enjoyed our stay in this cabin. We love the decorations, the clean linens, and well maintained cabin. All amenities in place, the Christmas decorations were a plus and the fireplace an extra! Will definitely stay with DIG Properties again and again. My family thanks you very much for your hospitality and your kindness. I believe this is the beginning of our Thanksgiving tradition. We will be in touch for next years holiday.

My husband and I stayed at the Dancing Bears cabin and we loved it!!! It was great. Easy to get to, not too far away from everything but very private. It was very clean, well decorated and again we just loved staying there. We will certainly stay there again!!!!

Owner response: Thank you to the renter that wrote this nice review. Our cabins won the award for the best maintained and managed for the last two years. We work very hard to keep our properties the best in the Smokys, offering some of the lowest nightly rates in the area. We have hundreds of comment cards from renters and there isn’t one negative comment. Our renter’s total satisfaction is very important to us. We constantly work to maintain our outstanding reputation. We go the “extra mile” to make every stay the most memorable ever.
If by anyway you thought that I was bashing you personally or your cabin that is totally not the case. I am sorry if that how you took the comment or if any other future customers took it that way. I did not appreciate your comment basically calling me a liar there was dirt debris in the bottom of the hot tub it was not that big of a deal so i cleaned it out like I said. I simply shared what had happened to me with the hot tub experience to make the cleaning people or yourself extra tedious when cleaning the hot tub. Now for this instance may have just been a fluke with the way the hot tub was I do not know. I still enjoyed my stay here is was a wonderful cabin and a perfect getaway. I would not have changed anything differently except the hot tub ordeal. And I also found it rude that I made a comment about one problem that I encountered on my stay with the hot tub and it turned out to be all about the free t-shirt. The t-shirt has no precedence compared to the issue I faced with the hot tub, the reason I stated it was free was because here on the VRBO add it states free t-shirt. By no means at all would a 5$ t-shirt make me write a bad review for you guys. I just wanted to clear up one last time that this is a beautiful cabin as you can see from all the reviews on here and if you choose to stay hear you will also see all of the positive reviews in the guest book. This review was intended to make the cleaning of the hot tub more in depth. As I said before this time could have just been a fluke sense your response was that you have never had any problems with your hot tub before, but there is no reason why I would make something like this up certainly not for being up set for a 5$ T-shirt. I also noticed that my review said "fair" as the rating this was a mistake on my part I did not mean to rate this cabin as "fair" because it far surpasses fair.

Owner response: Guess that we are receiving an apology from this renter for giving us a 2 star rating. He changed his rating to 4 stars. We’ve had two hot tub experts come and examine our hot tubs and they both assured us that there was nothing wrong with the hot tub and that there is no way for dirt or debris to get in since they are covered when our cabins are vacant. Further, we have a double filtration system on our hot tubs (one for the entire cabin and one dedicated solely to the hot tub). Anyway, we’re accepting this renter’s apologies and offer him a free night on his next rental. If they would’ve phoned us during his stay, we would have given them the free night than.
I will start by saying that I thought the cabin was beautiful and very well decorated. It was close to all major activities. I was displeased that the add on here said we were to receive a free t-shirt, well this was not the case when you go to the shop to pick it up you are informed that you must make a purchase in order to receive your t-shirt. After I got home I noticed an infection rising up on my stomach, it got worse and worse so i went to the doctor. The doctor informed me that it was a staph infection, and I asked him how I could have got this and he asked if I had been in any hot tubs lately. When I first arrived at the cabin I myself had to clean out the hot tub because there was debris at the bottom. I did not think much of it because the cabin was so well kept up, I figured that the cabin owner would have more respect for the occupants as to take care in cleaning the hot tub. I am very displeased with this and be aware before getting in the hot tub if you decide to stay here.

Owner response: This review totally shocks and baffles me. There is a coupon in each cabin for a free T-shirt. It clearly states that a purchase is required to get the free T-shirt. The renters knew before going to the T-Shirt shop that they were expected to purchase another item of any value. The renters fail to mention that we also were running a special prmotion where for a three night rental they receive the fourth night free. They did receive the fourth night free. As for the hot tub issue, after every single rental, the hot tub is emptyed, totally pulled apart, filters cleaned, tub scoured, refilled, shocked and chemicals added. After every cleaning, I personally check each cabin including the hot tub to make sure everyhting is up to our high standards. There is a double water filtration system on the hot tub. One is for the entire cabin and the second is on the spiget that fills the tub. Being up in the country on a well, we are doubly careful to make sure the water is of the best quality possible. We contacted our family physician and he told us that in the majority of cases dealing with a Staph infection, the bacteria in water do not cause disease. However, damage to the skin or other injury may allow the bacteria to overcome the natural protective mechanisms of the body, leading to infection. With the continuing dispensing of chlorine in the hot tub and the temperature of the water, he doubts very highly that using the hot tub caused a staph infection. I question why the renter didn’t contact me when he found out he had a staph infection. If it was caused due to our negligence, we would have given him compensation for the value of a night. I have absolutely no idea what “debris” he is talking about. The hot tubs are covered at all times and locked with a clasp so noithing can get into them. If the renter had to clean debris from the bottom (which I higly doubt), he should have contacted the office and we would have recleaned the tub. We have a maintence person that is on call 24/7. In the six years that we are renting cabins, this is the first time we’ve had someone say they had a problem with a hot tub. I personally think this person was more upset about the issue of a free T-shirt.
We loved this cabin!
We loved this cabin!
The cabin is so beautiful! It is genuine log throughout and decorated so beautifully. It was so nice walking in and taking in that log cabin smell. It was even better than we expected. The flat screen TV in the bedroom swivels, so you can relax in the huge jacuzzi tub and watch your favorite show on television. We were in the hot tub every night! And the grill and little eating nook on the back porch is so cute and convienient. The owners really care about their properties and it shows in all the little extras. The porch has a citronella candle ready for you, the cabin is immaculately clean, and they even left a package of Peeps for us since it was around Easter time (Thanks!). The location is great. It is so quiet and peaceful. I loved going out in the mornings, putting my feet in the hot tub, and listening to the crickets chirp. They gave us a great price for our little get-away and we hope to be back!

Super great stay
Super great stay
Just wanted to say the cabin was fabulous! Secluded but close enough to town if you needed to go shopping and enjoy the sights. Very rustic yet modern at the same time. The price was very reasonable and would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from it all. My wife and I felt safe and relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed air hockey. The LSU-Bama game was great on the large flat screen. We also really liked the gas log fireplace. I hope to stay here again and working with Irwin made everything a breeze. No hidden fee's or surprises. He did what he said he would. Enjoy your stay and make sure to eat at The Old Mill restaurant if you decide to dine out. There is also a fully stocked kitchen and gas grill on the back porch.

Nice Cabin, but don't expect free T-shirt or Free Night if not satisfied
Nice Cabin, but don't expect free T-shirt or Free Night if not satisfied
Let me first say that cabin is very nice! But there was a few problems with our visit. We arrived around 4 of 5pm.Cabin was alot futher out than we expected or was told. When we arrived there was a car in the driveway, which was a little weird! So we backed out of the driveway and went to end of deadend street and called the cabin manager. He informed that we were at the right cabin and he would call owner. So after sitting in the street in the middle of nowhere and 3 phone calls later, we were told to go to cabin and get keys from people that had already been in cabin for at least an hour. They had given the same lockbox code for both cabins and they had came into the wrong cabin. Lockbox codes should not be the same, for safety reasons. This must have happened before, because we read in comment book in cabin that other people had done the same thing! We felt a little weird about going into cabin that people had already been there for a while. About an hour later cabin manager showed up to make sure everything was ok. There was a problem with lock on door and they stayed there about an hour working on door and by that time it was night and there was bugs coming in from outside with door open. Had to spend quite a while killing mosquitos after that! The next day we went to get what we thought that the website said we were entitled to a free t-shirt, not! We were informed it was buy one get one free.Needless to say we were a little unhappy about that situation also. When called owner when we got home and he didn't seem to concerned about it. He offered us $25 off our next visit, unlike what the website said "Your satisfaction is GUARENTEED or we'll give you a free night on your next stay of three nights or more." It was our 25th wedding Anniversay. Too bad there was some problems.Probably would have went somewhere else if cabin wouldn't have been paid for an it wasn't so late! But we made the best of it!

Owner response: Firstly, these people got a free night. Their fourth night was free. They also received a complimentary bottle of Champaign for their anniversary as does all couples spending their honeymoon or anniversary with us. I, the owner came to the cabin to find out what had happened. Apparently, one of our greeters took another couple to the wrong cabin. As soon as we saw what happened, I immediately came to the cabin and made amends and got things straighten out. I also had our cleaning people come and re-clean the cabin at our expense. The whole incidence took about one-half hour. We just started using lock boxes. The codes are changed after every rental both for the lockbox and the electronic lock on the front door. The codes were changed, but someone obviously punched in the wrong number and accidently opened the lockbox. We provide all renters with free door to door directions from their home to the cabin they will be staying at. We are not at all “far out”. We’ve never had a complaint about our location as we are centrally located to all area attractions. Every renter gets a free Smoky Mountains or Pigeon Forge T-shirt. All they have to do is go to the T-shirt store and present the coupon which they found in the cabin. We do recommend that they purchase something from the T-shirt store. If these people wanted to vacate the premises and get a refund, we would have gladly given it to them. When we spoke with them, they did not indicate any problems. This is all new to us and a bunch of misstatements. Their story has been blown way out of proportion. If they want to retract their statement, we’ll give them a free weekend of their choosing..
Beutiful Cabin, Conveniet Location
Beutiful Cabin, Conveniet Location
Very nice and well kept cabin conviently located just outside Sevierville, TN. Semi-remote location puts you quietly in the foot hills of the Smoky Mountains, but just minutes away from Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and GSMNP. Close enough to all the action, but far enough away to enjoy quite evenings and mornings in mountains. The cabin is very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It was just perfect for our stay. We highly recommend it. We would stay there again without question.

About the owner: Debbie and I own, operate and manage our cabins. Our permanent residence is in Cape Coral, Florida. We also own a log cabin in Pigeon Forge where we spend many months each year. We have lived in Florida since August 1997 and have owned our log cabin in Tennessee since 2005. Prior to moving to Cape Coral, we lived in Fort Worth, Texas. We both owned and operated our own businesses. Debbie was an International Freight Forwarder for over 20 years. She started her business and grew it to be one of the largest such companies in her industry. She sold her business and retired in August 2006. I started my business two days after graduating High School in order to pay for my college education. I was a manufacturer and supplier of custom designed Lapel Pins, Embroidered Emblems and Lanyards to the Promotional Products Industry. I owned and operated this business from 1959 through March 2007 when I sold my business to retire. We are both very active in our community as volunteers for the city and other organizations. Additionally we are Florida State certified mediators for the Florida courts. I am currently working on obtaining my Tennessee General Contractor’s License. We are avid Honda Goldwing riders and invite our biker guest to ride with us.
Why the Owner Chose Pigeon Forge:
We chose to purchase our genuine log cabin in Pigeon Forge because we always loved visiting the area. We actually purchased the cabin we live in because it was one of the most beautiful log cabins in all of the Smoky’s. It is only seven years old and offers all the amenities. It is located on a great wooded lot with lots of room. We had it professionally decorated with the finest furnishings available. We bought it with the intention of renting it out. After staying in it a few times, we decided to use it ourselves and not rent it out. We turned our focus to building one bedroom-one bath "Honeymoon/couple cabins so others can enjoy the outstanding and beautiful area. In the Smoky’s everyone is someone. People have no airs and are themselves. We are now building a larger (three bedroom/three bath cabin across from the one we are living in and plan to put our two bedroom on a rental program.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
By staying at our cabin, each visitor tailor makes their own vacation. When we are up in Tennessee, we do nothing but “CHILL OUT”. We sit on our deck and watch the birds and wildlife. We watch the sunsets. If we get antsy, we go off the mountain for dinner, to go to some of the family orientated comedy, music or magic shows or other area attractions. We either drive or motorcycle through the Smoky Mountains, Cades Cove the Dragon. Cherohala Skyway, the Foothills Parkway or one of the hundreds of other great, scenic back roads. We also go to North Carolina and ride The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Scenic train from Dillsboro to Bryson City or if we feel like gaming, we go to Cherokee to the casino. There probably are more things to do in the Pigeon Forge area than anywhere else in the country. We now have a NEW five screen movie theater and the NEW Titanic Museum. We love riding our Honda GoldWing Trike on the many outstanding, scenic back roads. If you ride, we'll take you (no charge) on some great rides.
