This is a family friendly unit as Sunset Cottages is a private, cozy, peaceful, modern complex with only 19 units. Stay with your family at our personal family owned, home-like beach retreat... Ultra-convenient beach condo on the Gulf side with a short walkway that is only steps to the beach... right next to the units. No driving and parking to get to the beach... You are there!
PROFESSIONAL UPGRADES & ACCOMMODATIONS ... The small newer complex was built new in 2000. The complex is very family friendly and is located on the quieter end of Okaloosa Island. Golfing, water parks, jet-ski, charter fishing, shopping, and lots of fresh seafood are only minutes away. The quiet pool and sun deck area are located in the center of the complex with a new outdoor grill area right next to it.
CONVENIENCE... Our main balcony overlooks the pool. There is also a second separate balcony off the master bedroom for privacy and coffee in the morning. The units are surrounded by nice tropical landscaping. Walk down the quiet beach walkway that is right next to the units and go for a swim in the Gulf of Mexico. Come back and then cool off in the pool afterward. Stress relief and family fun is what this place is all about! Relax, you have come to the right place. Now get ready for fun.
UPSCALE DECOR & AMENITIES... Our condo can sleep six people. One private master bedroom with a king-size bed, separate private balcony, and separate private door to bathroom. One pullout queen sofa in the living room and two bunkbeds located off the hallway and out of the way, great for the kids and private for the parents! The condo has a full-size kitchen... dishes, cookware, utensils, toaster, microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher, all linens, and towels. New a/c unit was installed June 2012.
EVERYTHING YOUR FAMILY NEEDS... There is one full bath with two entrances, Wi-Fi, cable TV (two) one in living room and the other in master bedroom, DVD in living room, A/V jacks for play station, AM/FM/CD stereo, and lots of clean Florida beach breezes! The other balcony off the main room overlooks the pool. This is a great family value. You will LOVE the homelike accommodations, price, and all the convenience.

Could not have been better. Immaculate unit. Very close to beach and attractions while maintaining that quiet, out of the way feel. Definitely would stay there again!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.

This was our first experience using VRBO and we were pleasantly surprised as to how easy it was to work with Teri & David. Thank you for sharing your condo with us. The pictures were so accurate, we felt as though we had been there before. The unit was clean and had everything to make our vacation a memorable one. We would recommend this unit to family and friends without hesitation. It is located within an easy short drive to whatever you might want to do. The condo was exactly as it was described and appeared in the pictures, and was exceptionally clean. The owners called us on the first day to make sure everything was going well - much appreciated. We could highly recommend this property, and the Fort Walton Beach area. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was very nice, very clean and very close to the beach. I would put in my top 5 places I have been. We had a wonderful time because we did not want to be right on the beach, but have easy access to the beach and the pool was wonderful too, as our daughter and husband and our 3 grandsons were at another Condo just down the road so we did not have to travel far to see them also.We stayed for 4 nights. I would highly reccomend this Condo to my friends and other family members.The owners were very helpful and courteous in answering all our questions. Although we did not go to many attractions, we did go to the Gulfarium which was nice to see. The pictures came out beautifully. We also ate at the resturant by the pier. Sorry, forgot the name but the food was great.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

First, owners were great in their communication. Second, the property was a great option for the price and turned out to be perfect for our family. We had three young children, so having a pool right outside our door and the beach only a few minute walk away, it made things really easy for us to enjoy all Ft. Walton had to offer. Our kids also enjoyed a few of the games in the room, and although we did not have any time to watch, there were several DVDs available to watch as well. The decor is great and well done. Our kids enjoyed the bunks and my wife and I enjoyed the large bed since most of the kids end up with us in it. I'd recommend for any small family looking for an affordable location, close to the beach, without having to pay the 'beachfront' cost. Washer and Dryer were brand new and great to have. Deposit was returned less than a week after we left, which is much appreciated. We will look to reserve again in the future.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The condo was nicer than described and much closer to the beach than we imagined. My family of 4 had a great time on our beach vacation and the beach was a very easy walk and there were no streets to cross. There is ample space for a family of 6. We had everything we needed to dine in and there were several restaraunts in the immediate area. The owners were very helpful during the rental transaction and they made us feel welcome during our stay. I would recommend this to any family with small children or teenagers.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The condo was great and what we expected from the description. The owners are awesome and were readily available to fix one minor hiccup. It is definately a great place to stay while in Fort Walton. Everything was nice and clean. The location was close to the beach and my kids enjoyed the pool. We will gladly stay again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, age 55+.

The owners Terri & David were very helpful and easy to deal with. The condo had a well eqiupped kitchen and comfortable beds! Loved the tile floors- so easy for sand clean up. Close to Destin and the Pier. We enjoyed Helen Back's pizza! I would recommend staying here and plan to return in the future. I think this place was great. All I every ask of a condo on VRBO is that it matches the description and that the owner is easy to work with and cares. All of this is true. The condo has a great layout and was VERY clean when we arrived. Kitchen was functional, deck over pool was great for enjoying our morning coffee and reading our iPad. The complex pool was clean and well maintained. Owner was great before, during (called to make sure arrival was ok), and after. I would highly recommend this to others who want to be close to beach, but want to save a few $ in a clean, well maintained place.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
