We stayed at this cabin as our first trip to Pigeon Forge. Upon entry it looked similar to the photos. However, we immediately noticed that the computer didn't work, The arcade advertised did not work, the air hockey table was very beat up and didn't work well. Then to add insult to injury the hot tub did not work, and after calls to the owner who assured us it would be fixed before we left we never got to use or enjoy it either. The cleaning staff did so well that there was a dead bug on the stairs and a roll of toilet paper shoved down in one of the pool table pockets. The bed upstairs was so uncomfortable my 13 and 14 yr old couldn't take it. The pullout couches were equally uncomfortable. The only ones who slept ok were my husband and I..Our bed was ok. The bathroom in the master is nice however, the jacuzzi tub is not there it is upstairs in a more public setting where we couldn't enjoy it. The kitchen was nice but the pans were warped and impossible to cook on. There was a great playground across the street that was convenient and fun. The view was amazing and we loved it. Overall it would have been better if all the things advertised would have worked. We got this cabin due to all it's amenities and when it rained the entire time we were in Pigeon Forge we had to leave the cabin daily because there was really nothing to do. The pool is also miles away ..it is at the bottom of the resort area and this cabin is at the top. My children were asking to come home by day 2 which is never a good thing. The owner seemed nice and pleasant to deal with but with nothing working I was just out a lot of money and had an unhappy family. I won't be back.Did you find this review helpful? We had a wonderful time! Everything was very nice, and had every amenity we wanted and more. Location can be beat! The playground was nice; it was a little big for my toddler, but he still liked playing with daddy on it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for the feedback! Yes, this is a great place for kids with the playground right across the street. Come on back and see us again when you can. We love returning tenants and even offer a 10% discount.

We love StarrCrest resort but not the prices of renting through the rental companies. We found this cabin and WOW...what a find! Although it says 1 bedroom, there is a very nice, seperate living area with a king bed upstairs. We travelled with 2 kids and it worked out perfect. Plenty of room for everyone. I think 2 couples could even share this cabin and still have privacy and plenty of living space. It was like new inside and out. We remembered our stroller, but were pleasantly surprised to find a stroller at the cabin also. And the proximity to the playground was PERFECT. They also provide an informational binder in the cabin that has all the local restuarants menus and information. We'll definitely be back to this cabin.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Jenny, We are glad you enjoyed the cabin. Definitely would be glad to see you return. We sure do offer some of the best rates at StarrCrest. No middleman to increase prices so the customer is ultimately the winner. Don't forget to take advatage of our 10% loyalty discount on your return! Thanks again.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful cabin during the Christmas holiday 2010. We were pleasantly surprised by everything. It was roomy yet very cozy. We had all the luxuries of a hotel and the comfort of home all in one. It was awesome to be at a resort where you have privacy, yet you aren't too far away. The view is spectacular. Hot tub on a cold evening is nothing short of amazing. Small snag....taken care of....IMMEDIATELY. Having 'grandma and grandpa' show up on Christmas afternoon was the icing on the cake. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we just might be staying at the Bear Necessities for the 2011 Christmas Season.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for the wonderful review Janie. We would be glad to have you stay at our cabin again this Holiday season. I love some of your pictures you guys took with the snow covered mountains. You can also take advantage of 10% guest loayalty discount. We do have a few upgrades since your last visit, like a PS3 with games, a new 3D TV with 4 pair of 3D glasses, and a new Yamaha sound bar.

I have to say this cabin was everything we expected and more. It was very clean and up to date. Tons of things for the kids to as well as many ways for the parents to relax. We enjoyed the game room and the convience of a full kitchen and laundry. The 3 D moviex and Ps3 were also amazing. I would definately rent again and pass the infomation onto anyone traveling in the area.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Dear Courtney, Thanks so much for the wonderful review. We are so happy you were able to enjoy our vacation cabin. Welcome to our Tennessee vacation family and we look forward to having you back for many return visits. Sincerley, Jeff & Judith

We have two small children and the proximity to the park was fantastic. The cabin was comfortable for a family of four with enough space for everyone. The loft bedroom was great for us adults to be able to enjoy ourselves after the kids went to bed. The location was wonderful due to the closeness of Dollywood and being right off the highway we were able to avoid the main drag and the traffic associated with that. We have stayed at various resorts over the years and highly recommend this one as it is well maintained and easily accessed. We have nothing bad to say about the cabin and hope to visit again soon!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for your wonderful review. We agree that Starr Crest Resort is one of Pigeon Forge's best kept secrets. Dollywood Vacation Rentals also rents out cabins in this resort for thier vacation getaway paqckages. They charge higher rental fees though. By renting through us private vacation owners you cut out the middleman and get an econmical price on a 5 star cabin. We are also glad to let you know that any returning customers of our vacation rental family will receive an extra 10% discount on future stays.

We had such a wonderful time at your cabin! It was the perfect spot for our girl's getaway. It was so cozy and had just what we needed. We had a lot of fun in the game room, so many different activities. The hot tub was so nice and the fireplaces upstairs and down made the perfect setting with the snow outside. Thanks for having us and I am sure we will return in the future!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: From left to right are my wife Judith, our daughter Sarah, and me (Jeff). This picture was taken in 2009 while sightseeing in the Great Smoky Mountains. We live in Cincinnati and try to make it to the Pigeon Forge area a couple of times a year. We loved the area so much we decided to by a vacation home in the area and rent it out so others can enjoy it as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Pigeon Forge:
We choose to buy in The StarrCrest Resort because of its' great mountain views and its' proximity to Pigeon Forge, shopping, Dollywood, and all the great restaurants and shows. StarrCrest also has some of the nicest amenities in the area like a swimming pool, and the children playground and picnic area are right across the street from the cabin.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
I enjoy just sitting back and relaxing at the cabin mostly, and an occasional round of golf. We also like to go up in the mountains and do some creeking and sight seeing at Cades Cove, and on a clear day go to Clingman's Dome. You can see for miles. My wife likes to hit the shops at Pigeon Forge, especially the Tanger Outlet malls, and also likes to see the shows.
