  We had a tremendous visit to Vancouver and this property was the perfect home away from home. We traveled with our 2 young children and our nanny for one month. We work from home so having a spacious home with a lot of light was a definite asset for us, and this property delivered. The house is impeccably kept with an amazing kitchen (any appliance or cooking utensil you can think of), our kids loved sharing the room with the twin bed, and our bedroom on the main floor had a wonderful view of the garden to wake up to each morning. The owners were tremendously kind and helpful, always quick to answer any questions we had. Susan even hooked us up with someone who sells locally made organic soups! The property itself is in an ideal location. We had meetings downtown and one quick bus had us there in 15 minutes. The science center was easily accessed by bus as well and our kids had a great time going there often. Close to the house are many parks and playgrounds, and walking to the beach took no time at all. The neighborhood is beautiful, with a small community garden in the roundabout on the street. Our son even made friends with a neighbor boy. I can not say enough wonderful things about this property, and I highly recommend it for a short or a long stay. It truly felt to us like our home for the short period of time that we were there. It will be my first choice of rental when we return to Vancouver.

• Hard to beat!

  We are regular users of VRBO and vaction rentals in general. Over the years we have booked and stayed in dozens. This property is amongst the best, definitely in the top three.The other two are in Paris. Susan and Sandy understand the market and present a property that exceeds expectations in every way. The house is spacious, spotlessly clean,well decorated and so comfortable. The location is five star with restaurants shopping in both directions, and an easy bus ride to the city. We, on a couple of occassions walked along the beach and waterfront into town. Being rugby tragics we walked outbound to a local rugby club which was located by the beach, to watch the match of the day. Whilst in Vancouver we visted the Aquarium and participated in the Beluga Whale experience, not cheap but so worth it. We highly recommend this Kitsilano property and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  This home is ideal for out of town guests and entertaining small groups. Beautifully decorated, with a warm and homey family atmosphere. The home feels very Victorian and classic, but with modern touches--and a beautiful rustic back garden. We got married that weekend and held a small reception in this lovely home for friends and out of town relatives. It will always have a special place in our hearts. The owners were extremely accommodating to our needs. I could also see this home being ideal for a small group travelling travelling for a conference or other event that would like a home away from home. It's perfect. Thank you owners!

  We have just returned from staying at this house for two weeks. It is a lovely house in an attractive neighbourhood close to the beach and convenient for shops and restaurants. It is extremely well equipped and clean with very comfortable accomodation for a family of 6 adults and a toddler. We were visiting Vancouver for our son's wedding and the location was ideal for attending the reception at UBC as well as visiting many tourist attractions during our stay. Susan and her husband could not have been more helpful and We would definitely recommend this property for a stay.

  Owner response: It was great to be able to host this lovely family while they were here for a family wedding. The weather was sunny and warm, just right for the get together they had after the wedding in the backyard, with the garden in bloom. We're very glad they chose our property while in Vancouver!

  Eight of us in the family stayed in this very nice house for 4 nights, including a senior and my 7 year old son. No one in the family ever rented a house before for vacation, but we were glad that we found this nice house in a great location in Kitsilano (nice charming neighborhood, mixture of old and new houses). It was comfortable and clean and it has just about everything you need in your house, kitchen with utensils, microwave, including a washer and dryer, and wireless internet for our laptops. It beats staying at an expensive hotel. The location is very close to most of the main attractions in Vancouver, including Capilano Suspension Bridge (a must; do the Cliffwalk first, AAA member discounts) and Granville Island. The Kitsilano Beach is a nice 20 minutes walk away, with kids playground, and outdoor swimming pool by the ocean. We rented 2 cars and had no problems finding parking in front of the house. It is located in a quiet residential area with lots of trees (so green), and 3 blocks away is a Safeway and other shops. (Bank of America customers can use their ATM cards at Scotiabank to get Canadian dollars, with a 1% transaction fee). Susan and her husband, who live downstairs, were very nice hosts (they even provided fresh cut flowers for the dining room). The couple of unexpected issues that came up, they took care of them in a timely manner. I definitely recommend this place!

Our location makes it easy to get to most places in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, everything you need can be in walking distance! We have lots of room and the backyard is available for outdoor eating, or just for kids to run around in. Vancouver is a great place to visit any time of the year, we hope to see these guests back some time soon!

  My family and I stayed 4 nights. We had 6 adults and 3 small children and had no problem getting everyone well situated. This house is very clean, with lots of open space, so it works very well for a group our size. The beds were very comfortable, lots of closet space, and the kitchen is well outfitted with all the utensils and modern appliances you might expect. The outside areas are also appealing........the owner is a landscaper and has constructed a beautifully planted, and very private rear yard area, complete with small fountain and BBQ grill. The residential neighborhood is quiet and safe. The owner is on-site and accessible if necessary. We would definitely go back......

The garden is available to guests, for outdoor dining in the warm seasons, or for children to play in. Playgrounds and the beach are in easy walking distance. Vancouver is green for a great part of the year, so our garden can be enjoyed in most seasons!

  Beautifully kept house and garden area. No need to buy anything except for food. Close to shopping and other ammenities. Will definietly consider staying again and would highy recommend it to others. Than you so much.

  We have visited Vancouver several times before and were pleased to find this lovely house in the neighborhood of Kitsilano that we love. There are many fun things to do within walking distance plus there is easy access to other areas of the city including the beautiful campus of the University of British Columbia where our son is a student. The ambiance is a comfortable mix of an older traditional home with a cozy fireplace and antiques yet with an updated feel. The layout worked well for two couples and a teenager as there is a master bedroom and bath on the ground floor and an upper floor with two bedrooms and another bath. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board and the kitchen is complete with everything one might need to cook. A beautiful dining room is steps away to sit down and enjoy your meal. We even had a spring barbecue on the patio. Everyone liked the light, airy interiors and especially enjoyed watching birds building a nest in the huge tree just outside the windows. The owners were friendly and very helpful. In short we think this house is a great place to stay! We all recommend it heartily and would certainly stay there again.

The location is perfect for families visiting relatives in Vancouver, especially if they have a student at the University of British Columbia, or one of the other colleges in the area. For summer time visitors, the beach is only a short walk away, from which the majestic North Shore mountains can be appreciated. There's also lots to do for children in the area, with playgrounds and the outdoor pool at Kits beach easily accessible. For anyone coming to Vancouver Kitsilano is a great place to stay!

  We just had an excellent week at this lovely place. The location was absolutely perfect for us, and it is extremely convenient to lots of sights and great restaurants. It was a great set up for a family stay. The suite is beautiful. It has lots of details typical of the older houses in the neighborhood, but has also been well updated (well done bathrooms, kitchen, a new washer and dryer, etc.) so you really get the best of both worlds. It has nice high ceilings, excellent light (especially at the table in the kitchen which has a great view over the backyard), and plenty of room. I really can't say enough good things about this place. We would absolutely recommend it, and we would absolutely stay there again.

  Owner response: We're so happy this lovely family had an enjoyable holiday with us. Our property is perfect for families with lots to do in the area, especially in the warmer months. The backyard is available for children to play in and we also have a patio area with a full size bar-b-que for outdoor dining. We hope they come back sometime in the summer months, to enjoy the garden and the proximity to the beach, Kits pool and much more!
