I have stayed in many condo's but this one was my Fav! As soon as we walked in as a family, we were blown away by the views! No A/C needed the breezes filled the apt at all times. The whole front wall facing the beach is open air concept, very nicely decorated. Everyone was nice and we felt safe as well. My daughters, 26, 14, and 11 all enjoyed the beach - the waves are great for boogie boarding, wouldn't recommend little children unless parents are in the water with them. The public beach of Luquillo is much more calmer and is only a 2 min drive and has souvenier shops, local food and restaurants, and pina coladas on the beach. We went snorkeling in Fajardo, hiiked to the Mina Falls at El Yunque Rain Forest and our most favorite adventure we did on the last day was a ferry ride to the Island of Culebra for $4.24 round trip p/p. Flamenco Beach is rated the 2nd most beautiful beach in the World according to Discovery Channel and it truly was a Gem! Get your snorkeling gear at Wallmart because we seen more there in the reefs than we did on the Fun Cat! I would recommend coming here again, it is a good location to do and see alot (except no night life here, have to travel to San Juan).Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My husband & I stay at this condo with our 2 adult kids (boy 24, girl 20) and it was the perfect amount of space for us. The kids had the room with the 2 queen beds, their own bathroom and a big closet. Very spacious room for them to share. And then we took the master bedroom which had it's own bathroom and big walk in closet. Plenty of drawer space in the furniture in both bedrooms as well. Between the bedrooms is the living area, balcony and kitchen, although you can walk out onto the balcony from the master bedroom. Very tastefully decorated, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals (we mostly just cooked breakfast at the condo). Having a washer & dryer in the kitchen was a really nice addition!! We never turned the air conditioners on when we were there since the ocean breezes made the unit very comfortable. And you can't beat the sunrises on the balcony - just beautiful!! Cable TV was great in the evenings when we wanted to just relax and hang out together. We had trouble with the remote or box (not sure which was the problem) for the cable mid-week, but Ernest came right away and got everything fixed for us. Ernest also gave us some great suggestions and tips on the activites we were planning to do while in PR. I really really liked how there was security right on site at Playa Azul. We felt very safe there and really all around Luquillo we felt safe. The owner of this Condo was so pleasant to work with. She always responded to any emails I sent her very quickly. Luquillo is a great location while staying on PR. All the activities that we wanted to do were so close by. Our highlights for the week were: El Yunque Rain Forest, hike to La Mina Falls and then swim there, Montserrate Beach (very nice), Old San Juan, La Parrilla restaurant in Kiosk row, boogie boarding on the beach right in front of Playa Azul. When we were there, the waves were pretty high, but they didn't seem so strong that they pulled you under, our kids loved it, but if I had small children I would have been a little nervous and wouldn't let them go out too far. It is also a great beach if you want to take a long walk. And we just loved hang'in out at the condo. Pool area was just OK, water was colder than the ocean and there was no hot tub. But it was clean and well maintained. We just like the beach better. If or when we go back to PR, we would for sure stay here again!! You should book it ~ enjoy!!Did you find this review helpful? We had such a great time in Puerto Rico! The condo was perfect! The view from the balcony was spectacular! Most of my time spent at the condo was spent on the balcony-relaxing with coffee, reading a book, eating meals, playing games. It was beautiful. The rest of the condo was nice as well. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable as was the living area. The kitchen was small, but fit our needs fine. The proximity to the beach was great! The location was perfect-central to the places we wanted to go...El Yunque, Fajardo for excursions, Ceiba for the airport, even Old San Juan wasn't too far. In addition, Enoc Rivera of Playa Azul Realty was wonderful! Very accomodating. It would have been nice to have more than one set of keys though. Since a key is needed to get in and out of the property to go to the beach, it was sometimes inconvenient if not everyone wanted to come and go at the same time. Minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things though. I would definitely recommend this condo!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We recently came back from Puerto Rico from our family vacation and had the pleasure of staying at the Playa Azul Condos. We could have not asked for a better location: The condo is excelent, clean, with a well stocked kitchen, and the washer/dryer were a great addition. The condominium has 24/7 parking monitoring as well as security in the building. The beach just outside the condo is wonderful, one side has waves, but the right side of the cove is like a lagoon, perfect for those who want to learn how to snorkle. Overall, I will definetely stay at this location next time. Thank you for opening your home to us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We highly recommend this condo! Every home comfort is provided. The beds are very, very comfy. The breeze and salt air make sleeping a joy. Having a dishwasher as well as a washer and dryer in the unit surely added to the well supplied kitchen. We made reservations for next year before leaving our vacation this year! The view of the beautiful beach is spectacular and we enjoyed many hours of relaxing and reading books provided as well. Come on down. All is provided for a splendid vacation....Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The very best thing about this condo is the view. I don't think it's possible to find a better view than what you'll get from this balcony. This is a 10-star view. The second-best thing about this condo is the location. It is in a secure gated compound right across from a beautiful beach with soft sand, wild waves, and all the palm trees you need to feel like you're in a tropical paradise. You can walk to the grocery story, the pharmacy, several restaurants, and even McDonalds, if that is what you need in the morning. A short drive of less than 5m will take you to the kioskos at restaurant row, and a very calm swimming beach. Ten more minutes, and you'll be at El Yunque. Another half hour, and you're in San Juan. Head the other direction and you can be catching the ferry at Fajardo for a day trip to the islands. It's the perfect base for day trips all over the eastern side of the island. This is a five-star location. The condo itself is clean and well-furnished, with handy shutters to let the ocean breeze blow through the rooms and air conditioning in the bedrooms when the breeze fails. The internet worked well and we appreciated the beach chairs and other items available for our use! While not the very most luxurious VRBO rental we've ever had, there were a few oddities that keep this from being a five-star location. For example, there was no light in the living room -- the ceiling light was out, and there were no table or floor lamps. Also, I've never had a VRBO rental before where you had to buy your own toilet paper and trash bags. Most VRBO rentals we've had were very well-stocked with cleaning supplies, basic food items (salt, spices, tea, coffee, etc.), and more kitchen gadgets than you could shake a stick at. We may be a bit biased since my sisters and I all love to cook, but overall we'd have to give the kitchen a 2.5 out of 5 and the condo itself a 4 out of 5. Lest that last statement sound too discouraging, let me say that overall we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay there again, with or without small children!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a magnificent, beautiful, clean, bright, glorious place! We are so grateful to the owner for opening up her home and sharing it with us. The view was spellbinding and the fresh salty sea air was intoxicating, refreshing and rejuvenating. The condo is so very beautiful and we LOVED being able to completely open up the doors and windows, that was wonderful!!!! When we were home and conditions were appropriate, which was just about all the time--except when really strong winds were sweeping in for a brief time--we opened the doors and windows wide open! We slept in the smaller bedroom because we could open the door and the windows and sleep under a sheet and just fall asleep to the ocean and the exquisite breezes flowing through the bedroom and condo. It was truly wonderful! We ate at Pasta Y Pueblo three times, the food was so amazing! I highly recommend this off the beaten path family owned, luxurious shack restaurant! The condo owner is so helpful and was always available to communicate with me by phone or email as we were making our plans. Also, the folks at Playa Azul Realty, who facilitate the rental, were incredibly helpful too. We are in love with Puerto Rico and look forward to another visit soon! We never did get to see the bioluminescent bay and we would love to check that out! That is one of the "must sees" everyone talks about, so it gives us an excellent excuse to come back very soon (not that we need an excuse to come back to paradise). We swam in the Playa Azul the whole time, right next to the condo, and jumped in the waves until they got too intense a day or two before we left for home, so we moved a little bit to the right of all the wave action and the waters were much calmer. So, we swam in the ocean directly outside of the condo the whole time. It was truly glorious. I am so grateful to the owner who opened her beautiful, bright, clean, spacious, and breezy home to us! I urge anyone considering this condo to go for it! The views are breathtaking, the breezes are rejuvenating, being in the ocean and the showers passing above are cleansing, the clouds are uplifting, and the vacation perfect, thanks to this condo and its location. For my husband and I, we were truly grateful to have made all of our travel plans entirely on our own and to have made such an excellent choice our first time to Puerto Rico. I urge you to consider this location, it was the perfect quiet getaway that we dreamed about for years!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We have rented several apartments at Playa Azul for several years. We have yet to have stayed at one as beautiful as this one. Every year we vacation with several family members, we have even rented the penthouse at this location. Nothing compares to our stay at this apartment. We hope we can rent it every year. My wife and I just spent the past week in this apartment with our 6 and 9 year old kids.We never turned on the the TV or the stove. The view from the apartment is directly over Luquillo beach -absolutely beautiful! The sound from the ocean is unreal, and the breeze at night just perfect. We visited El Yunque, Culebra/Flameco beach by ferry, Fajardo -Icacos by boat! and went snorkeling off Las Lobas. We visited El Conquistador / Palams del mar and Old San Juan. My son and I ate at a different local Panaderia/bakery each morning -he gets up at 6:30 -every day! and took pastries home to the girls! the location is great. We also ate at the Loquillo beach shack's - la parilla and El jeffe burger. We even drove into Old San Juan for dinner twice - it was very easy. I never felt too far out from any place we visited -and we did this all in a week - on our first visit. We will be back. And this location is Ideal for a family with young kids!!!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.
