We have a house that’s perfect for large family gatherings (sleeps 16!). This mountain home is custom built and furnished with quality furniture. It has a luxurious Great Room with pine-vaulted ceilings and stone gas fireplace, large Recreation Room, a 2-car garage with ping pong table, spacious kitchen, large flat driveway and large front and rear decks. This home is located in the low-snow-zone of Tahoe Donner for a quick start to the ski resorts on snowy winter mornings.
Less than 5 minutes to a local deli, 10 minutes to grocery stores, Tahoe Donner ski resort, Donner Lake and downtown Truckee, 20 minutes to ski resorts including Alpine Meadows, Squaw or Northstar, and easy access to Sugar Bowl and other popular resorts. Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Donner
Tahoe Donner has many family-friendly amenities, such as golf, horseback riding, swimming, skiing, tubing and sledding. It is closer to the Bay Area, Sacramento and Reno than most other Tahoe areas, with shorter driving distances from the airports in Sacramento and Reno, but is still part of the lovely Tahoe area. Our family has been gathering from all over the country in the Tahoe area since the mid-1990s, and we decided to buy a house together in Tahoe Donner to share family vacations (both winter and summer) every year.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our home is located in the low-snow area of Tahoe Donner, so winter access is easier even when the fresh snow is at its best! The driveway is also flat and plowed during the winter. We are willing to provide guest cards to access the Tahoe Donner amenities such as the swimming pool and fitness center as well as the Tahoe Donner beach on Donner Lake. Hiking trails are accessible at the bottom of the street, just a few houses away.

Perfect Location for Tough Mudders and Clan

We reserved this home for the Tough Mudder race in September of 2011 and it was absolutely perfect. The owner was extremely friendly throughout the process, which made our lives so much easier in the midst of our busy season. He responded promptly to emails and provided a helpful welcome kit with all the instructions that we needed to make it a hassle free weekend. We slept about 7 couples and 2 babies on Friday night, and 5 couples and 2 babies on Saturday night. Had everyone stayed Saturday after the race it may have felt a bit full, but it was absolutely perfect for 5 couples and we would definitely return. The new TV was a nice addition for the football game we watched that Saturday, and the home is loaded with games.

The house is very well kept and is equiped with everything. It is in a nice area. The house not only had all small appliances but also had all sorts of condiments, breakfast items etc. Would def go back again.

This property was ideal for our visit. Spacious and well appointed, it differs from most rentals which are usually poorly decorated with garage sale left overs. This house feels like home. The beds were all comfortable - tested by the five women on my team (and we're tough customers), the kitchen was well stocked with the necessary tools for cooking large and small meals. The thing that I liked most about this house was that you could have a ton of people here without it feeling crowded. The kitchen, dining room, living room area is an open space and since most people gravitate to this area, it accommodates nicely. If you're visiting with kids, there is a separate family room downstairs where they can play. Most importantly, the property was clean - really clean. The owners are very responsive and thoughtful to the needs of their guests. The neighborhood is upscale, quiet, and well maintained (streets plowed). The property is close to several area attractions. It's about 25 minutes to Northstar (door to door) and about the same to Lake Tahoe, although the scenery is so beautiful, it feels like five minutes. There are several good pizza places (Zano's) in Truckee (2 miles from the house), but we opted for The Drunken Monkey Sushi - oh so very good! Not only would I recommend this to friends and family, when the need arises for group lodging in Tahoe, I'll be back!
