Thank you so much for allowing us the use of your beautiful home in Helen. The home and everything about the location exceeded our expectations. Our mothers enjoyed it and even commented that it was the most beautiful and relaxing birthday trip we'd ever taken them on. We will definitely be back. Thanks again. We had great fun at our stay at Sautee Serenity. I especially appreciated the owner's personal touches such as leaving ambient music on for us when we arrived as well as her beautiful artwork in every room. This is a home which would be wonderful for a couple or a family. In our case, we brought our three children who really delighted with the fire pit as well as the 5 deer we saw on different occasions on the property including a baby doe who stared at us for quite awhile from the safety of the woods with great curiosity!!! It was also quite interesting driving the back roads and exploring the little community all around the cabin. Thanks for letting us experience your beautiful home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks, Liz, for such a glowing review and I'm so glad you were welcomed by the wildlife. Did the hummingbirds visit you?

We stayed for Memorial Day Weekend. From the minute you are driving up the driveway to the minute you enter the home, you know this is a special place. What we loved is we felt that we were in a bird aviary on a mountain top as there were birds singin all over the mountain. We have stayed in other cabins in the past but most had a rustic feel to them, this is a new home with exceptional decorations and furniture. We took many walks and it was so peaceful and quiet. The view off of the deck is striking as you see no signs of houses, just views of mountains as far as the eye can see. At night and in the mornings we did not have the AC on as it was cool, we opened the windows and just listened to the birds. Our stay exceeded our expectations and we expect to be back, if anyone plans on staying here you will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for the review, Bruce. Come see the fall colors from the house if you can.

What a wonderful view. We had a blast. Helen is just down the road and so are the wineries. There is a cute village just below the house. The home has everything you could want for a getaway. Close to everything but yet secluded for relaxation. The view in the spring was gorgeous but I can't wait to see it in the fall. Mary Ellen was just great to work with and was a great person to rent from. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is vacationing in the area. Stay in this home, you will be amazed!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks, Anna. Look forward to you gals returning again. M.E.

Upon entering the gate we traveled through the woods and discovered a home all by itself on a hill top, with nothing around but nature and views. The location is superb being only a few minutes to all of Georgia's wonders and of course Helen. We saw 3 deers from the house during our stay ! We can't wait to visit again, forgeting about everyday headaches and drift away in relaxation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks Ross, I am so happy you enjoyed what I love most about this special place.

My families stay at Sautee Serenity was a very pleasant stay. None of us were hugely in touch with nature until after staying here. It really helped all of us be closer to nature. The description of the property layout is extremely accurate and we all had a magnificent time. My mother had a great time spending her Birthday here especially being with her family in a very nice, secluded cabin.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: I'm so happy your family could come together and enjoy my house.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: The owner of this house grew up hiking in the Georgia mountains with her parents who taught her a love of nature's gifts. So she wanted to create a place where nature is center stage. As a licensed professional landscape architect and artist, she has used her skills in planning this house's location and design. She also has a home in Naples Florida which is a walk to the beach so between the two places she's really enjoying the best of life. She's very excited to offer what she has so enjoyed to others in this newly finished home.
Why the Owner Chose Helen:
I have owned this property for 25 years and grown to know and love all it's features over that time. The area is perfect. Sautee is so close to Helen and has grown to become a center of history, the arts, and culture in recent years. I feel the presence of history in the land here. The spirit and evidence of the Cherokee Indians are all around us here as well as those of the early settlers. This is a place where time does not whizz by and I feel connected to what is eternal. What more can I say than that.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
When I am here for a few days something unwinds in me. My senses become more aware. My eye's and ears become sensitized to the subtle beauties and music of nature. Also I begin to feel a connection to the land in a deep way that fills me with peace.
