This is my second visit to this property I am so very pleased with the cabin and the treatment that I receive on each visit ---- this time I did not get to see the snow but everything else was just wonderful from the personel treatment I received to the outstanding quality of the home and the great veiw afforded to us.... Once there Nick was like a tour guide to everything that we needed to know to have the great vacation that we were looking forward to ---- If I had any questions they were answered almost at once. I would recommend this property to all of my friends for either a short vacation or for a week or two stay. If there is anything I missed at all it might be I could not find any tissues but hey I did not have anything to cry about Hope to be able to come back soon and yes, this is most defentely a 5 Star rated property -- Oh, one other thing the pictures that you see in their ad are just what you get when you arrive -- everything is very real and most accurate----Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you again Linda....You are a truely valued customer and we appreciate your kind words. We will be looking forward to you visiting us again some day soon.

the movement we booked reservation, it was a very easy process. Having Nick greet us, was very helpful, he showed me all the eminty, like how to use everything. The house was very cosy, clean, and very spacious. Great location, beautiful cabin with all the modern conviences. Anything I needed, Nick was just a phone call away. I would definety come back, would recomment this rental to my family and dear friends. " What a view, when sitting in the big jacuzzi. Dealing with the owner was great."Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much Debra. I am so happy you and your family enjoyed your stay and will be hoping that you return soon...Brian

The views are indeed spectacular but unfortunately the rest of the home just does not justify the rate. Upon arriving we were met and told the jaccuzzi was turned on for us and would be hot in a few hours - we checked in at 2:30 and at 6pm it was not even 78 degrees and then shut off and on with no rhyme or reason throught the trip. We had sepcifically asked about interenet access and were provided with the incorrect password - 3 calls to try to get the network name and 45 min on the phone with the owner's service provider before finally discovering that his modem just doesn't work. TV is not very user friendly and the bedrooms have old TVs with VHS only and just local cable channels - when we called owner again about the TV and modem issue he actually yelled at us and blamed our children for being too loud to hear the directions (funny because even his own tech guy came during our "vacation" and said the device is simply broken - didn't know kid's laughter could break a modem) so much for family friendliness. Beds are horrible and we were totally grossed out to find our extra bedding just wadded in the closet with huge stains. First night I slept with a towel over my pillow because there were no pillowcases. When anyone flushes a toilet is sounds like a hurricane has hit. You don't want to be downstairs as the noise from toilets and even the lightest tiptoeing is insane! Woke up first morning after a sleepless night and all we wanted was a cup of coffee. Started the coffee pot and came back 10 min later to find that didn't work either. The place has got beautiful views and could really be nice just totally lacking the basic care to keep things working properly and hugely lacking as far as guest service is concerned - In my opinion for the money it would be ridiculous to choose this property over others. To be yelled at and insulted as well as spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to get someone elses equipment to work and clean bedding is just no my idea of a "getaway".Owner response: It is difficult to respond properly to a review such as this when it just does'nt make any since. Standard procedure for check in is, my property manager meets and greets you at the house upon your arrival and shows the you in detail how to use everything in the house from the jacuzzi, fireplaces, tv, internet, dvd, net flix, to all the appliances in the kitchen and the house heating system. All one has to do is pay attention and listen or ask any questions if they didn't understand. My manager is a dependable, honest, intelligent, patient person and would stay for an hour or two explaining how to operate anything in the cabin if needed. I am luck to have such a caring person to represent my rental and to greet my guest. I am so sorry that this customer feels this way. What happened here is a technology melt down on behalf of this customer. Upon Check in the customer showed no interest in listening to what my manager was trying to explain them. As a result of this they had equipment failure. They opened the jacuzzi lid and started pushing buttons and de-progamed it. The trouble shooting on the internet was detremined that they were entering the correct password wrong so many times the security on the modim locks it out in fear of someone hacking into it. The tv use is pretty simple. The coffee maker works fine. There are 18 pillows with cases on all of the beds that I provide for our guest and more are avaialabe upon request. This customer had only 14 people on the agreement. It was apparent to my manager that they had exceeded the number of people that they agreed on and then complain that there is not enough pillows or bedding. As far as the toilets, the house is 10 years old with all the modern conveniences, proper codes, plumbing and insolation applied. The toilets are low flo energy saving Kohler premier toilets, very expensive and very efficient. This customers complaints are unfounded. All of their probelms were fabricated or caused by them. None of my history show any of these problems ocurring. Most of their complaints were on things I don't even offer such as garage, premier channels in bedrooms, HDTV, alarm...ect. There was never any yelling at all by myself or my manager and on several occasions we offered to go back and show them everything again and they declined. We reprogramed the internet the next morning and they said all was fine. I have never had any complaints like these ever, and we did all we could do to satisfy them.

An absolute pleasure staying at this cabin! I was shocked when we arrived, the pictures do not do it justice! Has absolutely amazing views and was very well kept and roomy. The owner was easy to work with and very friendly. I am hoping to take more trips up and will be definitely looking forward to staying at the cabin again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The views from this house are indeed spectacular. The house is very well maintained and we enjoyed it immensely, even though we didn't come close to using all the room it offered. Brian and Diane were excellent owners and everything was first rate.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

The good stuff: The house was perfect for the 14 members in my family. The lay out of home was so we didnt feel like we were all on top of eachother. The views are awesome and you truly feel on top of the world when you are out on that balcony. Not so good: Really there is not much negative to say about this cabin. It could use a bit more bug spray as we killed several spiders in kitchen and living room through out weekend. The kids really didnt have a place to play outside but for an adult It was perfect.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We absolutely loved the place. After a long day on the mountain we were able to come home to a massage chair and a jacuzzi with the most beautiful view on the mountain!!! Our kids were very entertained as well; there were plenty of hills on the sides of the cabin for them to sled down and have snowball fights (they liked playing by the side of the house better than at the inner tube place)! The pool table was also a huge hit with everyone; perfect way to spend family time together and unwind from a long day of fun! We will definitely be staying here every time we come back to Big Bear, and we would (and do) recommend this cabin to all of our friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Love the view! Love the house! It was perfect for our family and friends to enjoy the holidays and the skiing. The privacy is awesome, we felt like we were the only ones there. My wife loved the massage chair after a day of snow boarding. Lots of snow around the house for the kids to play in. The perfect kitchen family room combination, it was great for entertainment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/6

About the owner: My wife and I live on Catalina Island where we raised our three kids. As the children got a little older we took them to the snow in Big Bear. We always enjoyed the mountains and the kids loved the snow. I guess growing up at the beach made the contrast to the mountains an unavoidable yearning to own a cabin there. So in 1998 we purchased this home and our family has enjoyed ever since. We truly hope your family and friends will enjoy it as much as we do.
