My wife and I spent the last two weeks of June in Blue Heaven at the Nail Bay Resort. Everything about it exceeded our expectations. It was well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and has amazing views. The owners and resort staff were great to work with, and made the planning and all other aspects of the trip effortless. We spent most of our time snorkeling, reading on the beach, and just enjoying the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The resort's beaches are among the best on the island. Mountain Trunk was our favorite because of its location, the fantastic snorkeling, and the fact that it was often deserted except for us! Everywhere else on the island is easy to get to from Nail Bay. Don't miss the incredible view of North Sound from Hog Heaven restaurant, or the amazing boulders at the Baths and Spring Bay. We had fun cooking local fish at the condo, and had excellent dinners at the resort's Sugarcane restaurant, and the new Coco Maya in Spanish Town. What a great time!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The Nail Bay resort is nothing short of amazing. The views were breathtaking, the service was impeccable and the sun bronzed us nicely :) I came with my boyfriend and two friends to Virgin Gorda to visit a couple friends who live on the island. After all the research, (and I do a lot when I travel), we chose to stay at Nail Bay. When we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. It was clean, open, had great views and it was very affordable (we are all young 24/25 year olds without big bank accounts so believe me, if we can do it, anyone can). Everyone at the resort was more than accommodating. Latha even coordinated us a Taxi on a whim when she hadn't heard from us and we missed the 6:00 ferry into Virgin Gorda from the Port we were at. They even booked a car for us to rent at a price cheaper than all the rentals I had looked into myself. I highly recommend seeing The Baths, Leverick Bay, Mineshaft, snorkeling, and renting a boat if possible. You can do a little dinghy for $90/day in Leverick Bay. For food, there is an awesome bakery across from Napa on your way to the Rock Cafe where I also enjoyed some delicious pizza. The bakery is the cheapest place you will find food ($3.50 subs that are too big for your tummy). Everything on the island was beautiful from the boats and colors to the views under and out of the water. We all felt so at home and so relaxed in our little piece of paradise. I can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We recently had one of our best vacations ever on Virgin Gorda at Nail Bay. What a beautiful place! We stayed in Blue View (one of the hillside apartments) which was lovely, roomy and very clean. We loved the king size canopy bed with Pottery Barn bedding--super comfy! There was a nicely equipped kitchenette that we used only for coffee since we kept finding delightful restaurants to try. The view is like stepping into a postcard or calendar page--and this was just from our deck! We even saw two rainbows (on separate occasions) over scenic islands in the distance. The grounds were lush and beautiful and very secluded. We enjoyed walking on the sandy, quiet beaches and on paths along the ocean. We went to colorful and charming Leverick for shopping and and the incredible Friday evening beach BBQ, dancing and Jumbie show (not to be missed). Bitter End was a gem-very picturesque and an amazing Sunday brunch plus watching all the superyachts in North Sound. Everyone was friendly, wherever we went. The ferries were fun because we got to meet local people. It was always a pleasure to return to Nail Bay where we swim in the pool or sit in the hot tub with a glass of wine from the poolside bar. The Nail Bay staff (Kasha, Latha, Laverne) made us never want to leave and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you, Barb Bender, for your notes and helpful tips--we understand why you picked this little piece of paradise! We'll be back......Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is our second stay in Sail Watch in as many years, and to say we love it is quite the understatement. This apartment is in immaculate condition--very clean, a dangerously comfortable bed, a full- service kitchen and grill on the deck, and a housecleaning staff that brings it all back to new every single day. The view from Sail Watch is breathtaking - while the sunsets are amazing from the deck, we had an especially great view this time around - a rare sighting of a school of dolphins jumping out of the water and swimming across the shoreline. The staff of Nail Bay is nothing short of amazing in ensuring that your stay at on Virgin Gorda is unforgettably great. From making sure you take the right ferry to organizing a rental car, and other events like a snorkel tour. We loved playing tennis on Nail Bay's tennis court as well! What a trip to remember.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We love the Caribbean and in particular Virgin Gorda. It is the Caribbean that we always dreamed of. The weather and the water are perfect. The people are warm and friendly. There are no mega cruise ships, casinos or shopping malls. There is MUCH to do in our little piece of paradise, it's just done at a much more relaxed pace. Prepare to slow down, take off your wristwatch, take a deep breath.....and EXHALE. Enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose Nail Bay:
We had been cruising and sailing in the Caribbean for years and our goal has been to buy a boat or property to eventually retire in the area. We were driving on Virgin Gorda one day coming over the hill and around the curve to Savannah Bay with it's endless powder sugar beach, coral reef and turquoise water. We were driving into a postcard. We stopped the car at the overlook and said, 'This is it'. We were home.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We enjoy interacting with the local community. We attend St. Mary's Anglican church and participate in the local Rotary club. The grocery stores on island offer a bountiful supply of goods but we often try native foods and produce. It is a privilege and joy to be invited into someone's home for a meal. There are also many Caribbean festivals to partake of throughout the year. They are colorful and filled with the music and foods of the region. We pick one beach that we snorkel at several times a week at different times of the day to see the changing colors and fish. We love taking the free ferry to Bitter End, Biras and Saba Rock to for different dining and entertainment experiences.
