Our wonderful beach 'home away from home' has been the place of wonderful memories for our family for the past 16 years. Being an artist and a person that loves happy colorful things, I have decorated our condo with lots of original art and artistic collectibles. Everyone that walks in the door loves how happy it makes them feel to spend time here. Our guests always call our view of the beach the 'million dollar view.' As you stand in the den, kitchen, or master bedroom, you have a full view of the ocean, sand, and the whole beach strand. You can even watch dolphins jumping out of the water and swimming by in the mornings on their way down the beach. The pelicans make daily trips up and down the beach catching their meals also. For a relaxing cup of coffee, sit on the screened porch and hear the waves breaking as you read the morning paper. You can eat at the table for 4 on the porch for lunch when you come in from the beach or pool. Its great to grab a book and snuggle up in the lounge chair and read without another soul around.
As you walk down the boardwalk to the beach, there is a wonderful gazebo with seats that you can sit under during the hot sun or go out to at night and listen to the waves while enjoying a glass of wine. Even a stroll on the beach at night is wonderful under the stars!!!!
If you have children, as we have had all of these years, you will see that it is a very kid friendly area. The staff is always around on golf carts to help you in any way, and the children love choosing which pool they want when there are 4 of them!!!!
As to the older citizens that still love the beach, the shopping carts for unloading at the base of the elevators are a wonderful amenity!!!! Our condo is also situated so that if anyone is unable to go to the beach, the beach actually will come to them. They can stay in the condo all day but still enjoy the view and sounds.
If you are interested in a wonderful day trip to Cape Lookout, we can arrange reservations for you through Lookout Cruises on their huge catamarand. It is a fun experience for all ages with lunch served and a covered area for those that do not want to sit in the sun.
The NC Aquarium is one of the best treats on the beach for adults and children. They offer leisure browsing of all of the tanks and displays along with nature hiking and sea turtle excursions during peak times of the year.
There are also many great restaurants in the area and there is a notebook in the condo with menus and directions to many of our favorite ones.
Anything that we can do to make this your favorite vacation place, we are ready to help!!!

This turned out to be a very nice choice for our family. One of the reasons I chose this was that we consisted of 3 adult couples and besides the king in the master bedroom, the other two rooms had queens which was better than a twin bed configuration. Also, being on the first floor made it easily accessible to the older ones in our family. Just a wonderful view to enjoy as well and close proximity to others in Atlantic Beach. The condo was just as described but the view of the ocean was even more awesome than we expected. The beach was fabulous and very convenient to the condo. The condo was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. We hope to stay there again in the future. The owner was extremely helpful, very prompt in corresponding with us and returned our deposit very quickly.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

My husband and I stayed here for a week with our 4 children and my sister. This condo was the perfect size. The 2 girls shared the queen bed in the second room and we also set up the pack and play (which was very convenient!) in that room for the baby. My son slept on the pull-out couch and my sister got the 3rd bedroom with the half bath which was nice for her because she kind of had her own area to escape the craziness of 4 kids when she needed to. The view from the patio is amazing, and you can open the windo at night (if it's not too hot) and listen to the waves while you sleep. It was so peacful, I never sleep as well as I did here! There is a grocery store, movie theater, restaurants and shops just a mile away, and the running path along the road was so nice for my morning runs (just watch out for the biting flies!) It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer and a full kitchen to make us feel right at home too. The pool was very close to our condo and my kids loved this so much! We spent many hours there, and they practically turned into fish with all the swimming practice it gave them. Walks on the beach were so nice in the evenings. We brought the stroller down, and it wasn't too dificult to get down there. Coming from Utah we didn't have any beach toys or accessories so it was nice to find some buckets, 4 chairs and an umbrella there. We ended up buying 2 boogie boards and left them there so we hope the next person can use them! Our only complaint about the condo is that it was very old fashioned feeling with a very old vacume, mixer, and no wireless internet. I was ok with this, but my husband wanted to work and his laptop didn't plug into the modem so we ended up buying a wireless router at Best Buy so we could get on the internet. We will cary that with us whenever we travel from now on. Also, there is little to no cell service in the condo. It's fine as soon as you get out onto the road, though. I was ok with this, it made me feel even more like I was getting away from it all, but it is kind of hard if you're used to being conected all the time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.
Owner response: We have now updated all of the above issues. We now have wireless router, new mixer, and 2 vaccuums. We have had the entire condo painted with new beautiful color and the whole entire condo looks new!!!!!! We have never had anyone refer to any of it as old fashioned with all of the funky colors and artwork. I try to respond to all ides and hope this helps to update us.

We're regular vacationers to the Atlantic Beach area and are thankful that we had the opportunity to stay at Dunescape 159 this year. Cathy was an absolute dear to work with and everything at the condo was exactly as it was portrayed in the listing. Such a great location, beautifully decorated and in close proximity to so many great restaurants and attractions. We will definitely consider coming to stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

Just spent Thanksgiving at the beach and oh my I loved every minute of it. Everything you need is right there. We walked on the beach every morning and every evening.. My husband who says he could care less about the beach relaxed more than he has in a long time...The view is awesome and the walk to the beach very short. I had my coffee on the beach every morning.. I would highly recomend this rental property. Lovely!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

we spent two wonderful weeks at this lovely condo. It was so comfortable and nicely decorated. We had breakfast and lunch on the screened patio every day. The view was so beautiful. We loved the foliage as well as the beach and would watch the abundant butterflies flying about. The pool was so clean and for October the water was not too cold. George enjoyed swimming both in the ocean and pool every day. Nights were peaceful after watching the sun go down. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. Hope to be back again.Recommended for: Age 55+.

Thank you so much for sharing your beach home with our family!! We really enjoyed our time in Atlantic Beach and really hated to leave. We felt we were living at the beach not just visiting. Being steps away from the beach was magical. We enjoyed walking the beach and shelling with our granddaughter!!! She also wanted to stay. Our son really enjoyed body surfing with dad and then returning to your wonderful home to relax in the evening.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a great place! I can't think of even one negative. Our family loves to fish, so we decided to take a trip to our favorite beach and pier to see what was biting. Sea Mullet galore! The condo is less than 5 minutes from the Sheraton pier, 10 minutes to the bait shop, and 5 minutes to the grocery store. When the fish weren't biting, we read on the screened porch or just sat in the gazebo which is right outside the building. The condo is very well appointed with lots of dishes, towels, beach chairs, sand toys for the grandkids, even margarita glasses (which we used!). The original art work makes you feel right at home right away (I like Cathy's the best). Probably the best part however is how easy Cathy is to work with. She quickly answered all my questions and was kind enough to accommodate our last minute change of plans and we were able to go a day early. We will definitely rent this condo again...soon! We've stayed at this condo with our two kids for six years and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Comfy beds with a million pillows, well-equipped kitchen, ocean view from the dining room table, and Cathy's lovely artwork throughout. Easy access to a beautiful wide south-facing beach with a gentle slope (not so steep as many east-facing beaches north of Cape Lookout, so it's safer for small kids). It's a great beach for sand sculpting, watching shore birds, occasional dolphins, and ghost crabs (night walks are wonderful). Just a half-mile walk to the fishing pier. Well-vegetated dunes are right below the two back porches (one off the bedroom, one off the living/dining room) and are full of flowering shrubs and vines in summer and fall that draw loads of fritillary and sulfur butterflies and cute green anole lizards with blue eyeshadow. The gazebo on the boardwalk directly behind this unit is another great place to relax and watch the ocean and dunes. Some of our other favorite attractions nearby (for nature and history lovers) are Fort Macon, NC Aquarium, and Hoop Pole Creek nature trail.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: Our family of 4 (now its bigger) grew up at Atlantic Beach, spending many summers and weekends throughout the years. As our children got older, we purchased our own condo and my parents sold theirs. We have continued to spend almost all summer at the beach, enjoying all that beach life afforded us. As our children got older, married, and had our grandchildren, we realized that we were no longer able to enjoy the condo all of time. We have decided to share our wonderful home and memories with new friends!!!
Why the Owner Chose Atlantic Beach:
My parents owned a condo for many years at Atlantic Beach and we were able to stay with them every summer and raise our children in a fun, safe environment. Our 'beach friends' became very dear to us and this became a natural way of life for us each summer. In the spring and fall, and even during the winter, we have enjoyed great weekends with warm water temps until November and beach walks year round due to the mild weather. We have even been known to have bathing suits on in January on the beach!!! The people are so friendly, the restaurants are wonderful with fresh seafood, it is such a kid friendly beach, and it is never crowded. People from other states have been overheard commenting on how they cannot believe how there is not much traffic and not a lot of people on the beautiful beaches!!!
