This was a wonderful get away for our family of four . . . spacious, quiet, tasteful, clean, and welcoming. Krista, the owner, and her concierge Debbie, were incredibly friendly and helpful with great suggestions of what to do around the Graegle area. Mill Pond was certainly a family favorite - great for our dog too! Krista is also so gracious about sharing her "toys" like bikes, floats, kayaks, etc. She really wants you to feel at home, and we certainly did. We would come back to this house again. It is ideal if you want to be close to town - it is a short walk down a hill through a wooded neighborhood (about 5 to 10 minutes.) It's about a 20 minute drive to Gold Lake, Sardine Lake etc, for excellent hiking. Golf is also nearby. We truly loved the Graeagle area . . . much quieter than Tahoe and incredibly beautiful with the crystal clear lakes and Sierra Buttes. It is a hikers paradise, but also great with kids who may not want to hike but romp through ponds, creeks, and rivers.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners.

Picture this: one of the most beautiful places on earth, where water, earth, and sky harmonize into one glorious jewel called Graeagle! Then pair that up to a beautiful home, cozy, inviting, lots of thick forested trees, warm and large deck...and there you have one great vacation! What a wonderful week my sister and I had with our kids and dog at this home in Graeagle. Working out the details with the owner Krista was amazing, you couldn't find a sweeter person! Our grandmother passed away five days before our trip, and we weren't sure we could make it to our planned vacation. When we told Krista, she totally worked with us and said not to worry, that we could work that all out, all she cared about was our family and the services for our grandmother. Well, turned out we were able to attend the funeral and make it up to Graeagle the next day. We couldn't have picked a better spot to begin our healing process, while at the same time, enjoying our vacation and making wonderful memories for years to come. We also met the concierge, Debbie. Wow, what a wealth of information she had on places for us to explore, not to mention her great love of Graeagle and her genuine friendliness and spirit! If you want a great place to stay in Graeagle, you cannot go wrong if you rent this great and inviting home! We will be back for sure! (2 Families/ Names blocked for privacy) stayed here and we had a wonderful time- Good family memories. One of them was taking the kayak down to the Mill Pond and having dinner on the patio. The house was very accommodating- It had all the amenities we needed (including the glasses for margarita's :) ). Thanks for sharing your house with us. We've created a great set of memories.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: In 2004 our family of 4 (One on the way...) drove into the beautiful town of Graeagle. We drove through this amazing town, had a yummy lunch in Blairsden, visited the local Graeagle Grocery Store for a soda, and stopped at Mill pond for a look (As it was snow covered at the time.) Needless to say it was love at first sight! We found ourselves hours later at a local Real Estate office scanning listings. We drove back to El Dorado Hills, near Sacramento, with nothing but Graeagle on our minds. Two days later my husband and I headed back for another look and found ourselves walking through our property @ 40 Paiute Trail. Even though a renovation was clearly in order, we loved its location and charm even with the pea green carpets that adorned our home. We placed our offer that day! Six years later and 3 children getting busier as years go by, we find it harder and harder to visit our lovely home. We hope you will come and enjoy it as much as our family has!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love the fact that we rarely get in our car. The kids ride bikes everywhere. We walk downtown daily, enjoying all that this charming town has to offer. Mill pond is a short walk away. No need for cars here.
