Clair de Lune (French for “Moonlight”) has been a popular villa rental in the Terres Basses community of St. Martin for years – and it just got better! Through the fall of 2012 the villa underwent several projects to renew the look and feel of this Caribbean retreat – all of which you can read about in the following villa tour. As you pass through the private gate and wind down the driveway towards Clair de Lune you easily notice that this villa has one of the healthiest and most vibrant gardens of any private property in the area. The driveway ends in a roundabout for easy drive-around access. There’s plenty of parking as well – but on your first visit to the villa we suggest you pull around to the double door front entrance so you can take in the incredible view straight through the living room and over the pool to the Caribbean Sea as you step into Paradise. A large lap pool centers the upper deck at Clair de Lune while the lower deck offers a whirlpool with centre table (so you can sip drinks or play a card game while you’re in the pool of course). The lower deck has been completely refinished and is the ideal area to pull up one of 8 brand new chaises lounges for some afternoon tanning. From this vantage point you can take in the view over the manicured garden (with new night-time lighting) to the Caribbean Sea. Or, if you prefer some shade, the pool-side gazebo is a perfect spot to enjoy meals with friends or to sit and read the latest mystery novel. Clair de Lune is conveniently located within a 2 minute drive of Plum Bay Beach, 3 minutes to Long Bay Beach, and 5 minutes to Baie Rouge Beach. And if you’re looking for restaurants, casinos and action at night Marigot and Maho are less than 15 minutes away.
