" We were snowbirds who spent 2 months in this charming villa on Seabrook Island and found our experience to be very rewarding. We had taken the villa online and found the owner to be more than helpful. She provided us with a lot of information about both the island and surrounding community and made herself available to us if we incurred any problems. The pictures shown on the site are very accurate and we found the villa surprisingly spacious and extremely well equipped. It was truly a home away from home for us. It is a short bike ride to the beach and the island itself is like a nature preserve with marshes, wooded areas, and wildlife. We were able to explore Charleston and get real feel for the city as it is only about a 35 min drive. We will always carry the memories of our stay in the villa and feel we have made a new friend with the owner, Sue. We highly recommend a stay at 451 Double Eagle Trace!!"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I rented this villa while waiting to move into a house on the island. We had a such a pleasant 2 weeks there that we wondered why we'd bought the house! The villa is comfortably appointed, and the kitchen is well stocked. We loved the "Carolina" room at the back, which afforded beautiful views of the golf course, yet was private as well. We had morning coffee and dinners there, and also used this glassed-in porch as the office.. The villa's location was also a plus, as it is a pleasant bike ride to the beach or the clubhouse. The relatively new Lakehouse, with marvelous gym facilities, is only about 2 1/2 miles. The Golf Shore complex is an attractive and quiet one, and we would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.
Owner response: It is my true pleasure to rent our villa to such a couple who obviously appreciates the unique benefits of a cozy villa by the golf course!

We have stayed in many vacation rental homes and villas over the years and the best are those that the owners actually use because they are better equipped. This villa is one of the best equipped we have experienced. They have everything you will need in the kitchen and household. The wifi worked great and we had no trouble getting on the net. We loved the villa and will definitely be renting it again. We have been going to Seabrook Island for years with our family (which requires a large house) but this trip was just the wife and me. We have tried the other Charleston Islands, but we prefer the quieter lifestyle of Seabrook. Do eat at the restaurant on the beach by the pool. It was great fun.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Loved Sue's place. It is well taken care of and peaceful to the eye.You can tell that Sue and her family love it too. My favorite place is her glassed in back porch, a good place to drink green tea, read and meditate. The porch faces the golf course and her yard has cute little lizards running around in it. My family and I stayed there and we hope we can go back again soon. Liked her collection of books and games too.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Everything you are looking for in a vacation and more. Wildlife galore, bike riding, resturants, dolphin strand feeding is the best kept secret in America. One of maybe 3 or 4 places in the world to see this awesome sight right here at Seabrook Island. Ride to the beach on bikes or drive to the beach at low tide to North beach and enjoy. This villa is a clean well equipped, comfortable, wonderful facility to rest, catch the sun rays, see deer an arms length away what ever you need in a vacation is here. Homeowner is outstanding to work with.Very informative with the island and surrounding areas. We will be back! Seven days was not enough. Thanks for a great time Sue.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

This villa was very clean and comfortable. It was quite easy to feel right at home. The Florida room in the rear of the villa was particularly inviting with great views of the golf course...we enjoyed eating at the dining table in this room. The owner was quite helpful with restaurant suggestions and answered all my questions promptly. She treated us more like acquaintances than "renters". The island community of Seabrook is a fabulous place to relax and the amenities are unbeatable. The ability to get around using just bikes and no cars is a real plus for us. We would definitely stay in this villa again, and we will certainly continue to visit Seabrook once or twice a year as a favorite destination.Owner response: It is a joy to rent to such wonderful people who enjoy vacationing at a true 'get-away' location like Seabrook. It may not be for everyone, but if you like beautiful beaches, getting a little exercise biking around an island with few inclines, and watching the dolphins feed as the sun set, it doesn't get better. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences!

Thank you again for allowing us to stay at your Seabrook home. We had a WONDERFUL time. The boys are asking to vacation there instead of Myrtle Beach or any other destination. Your home was conveniently located to the Club House, which is where we spent much of our time. Our boys enjoyed the bike riding throughout the island and most of all -- the deer. We saw many, many deer in full velvet as well as an albino fawn right outside your home. Your knowledge of local restaurants and events was appreciated. We dined at Red's Ice House, King Street Grill, The Station and Pelican Nest. We had great food at all of these locations. Also, thanks again for making our stay comfortable and for checking up on us concerning the A/C situation. The accomodations were such that we hope to revisit in the future...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We spend 8 nights (Jul / Aug '11) in this very nicely decorated, clean, fully appointed and well equiped beach house / villa. The villa has 2 bedrooms (1 Queen + 2 Twins) and 2 full bathrooms and is perfect for a beachgetaway for a family of 4. We especially enjoyed sitting in the sunroom having breakfast or dinner or just relaxing on the sofa and enjoying the nice view. The villa is located in a quiet cul de sac with the backyard facing the golf course. We rented 4 bikes and it is about a 8-10 min (1.2 miles) relaxed bikeride to the beach (club house). We rented the villa on short notice but the renting process with the owner was very simple, easy and quick. Every thing was as described and the owner was very helpful answering all our questions and giving valuable recommendations for nearby activities, attractions and restaurants. We can highly recommend this Seabrook Island property. We had a wonderful time and are planning to go back soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at this very spacious villa. Even though it is only two bedrooms, the porch sitting area really makes this villa feel much bigger. It was well equipped and the owner was most accomodating and pleasureable to work with.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1978
About the owner: If you love the outdoors as I do, you too will fall in love with Seabrook. My family and I have been coming down to South Carolina for many years and with each visit, we find something new and exciting on the island itself or in nearby Charleston. We know you will enjoy your stay!
Why the Owner Chose Golf Shore Villas:
The 'low country' which is how Seabrook and surrounding areas are known by the locals, offers the best of the South, and provides so many choices for things to do, whether old or young. Huge moss covered Live Oak trees that line the road coming into Seabrook simply add to that wonderful southern charm!
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
This 'home away from home' is an easily accessible ground level unit with all rooms on one floor. The large screened sunroom porch has been enclosed for year-round additional living space, with it's own TV and gas stove. The near perfect year round weather permits maximum use of the many island amenities including golf, tennis, horse-back riding, swimming, and biking.
