Some friends of mine from church and I chose this home for a Memorial Day Weekend trip. It worked out perfectly. The home was spacious and comfortable....and quiet. We cooked most of our meals, and everything you'd need to cook and clean is included in the kitchen. We enjoyed a hike to Rabun Bald one day and also enjoyed spending some time in Dillard another evening. It was a perfect place to get away from Atlanta for a few days. Two of us brought our dogs, too, and that worked out well. They had plenty of room to run, and I don't believe we payed any deposit for the dogs.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

This home was great. We had 13 adults staying for a long weekend. The view was beautiful and the hike up the road to the top of the mountain was a good workout. The home met all of our needs. We played ping pong and pool at night. There was no fighting over who gets the remote because there was plenty of TV's for everyone. Football games were going on every floor. We managed to squeeze in 5 cars at the house. We would recomend this home to anyone. Thanks Rosemary for sharing your home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We initially choose this property because of the room for our entire family to be able to stay in 1 house but have since found so many more reasons now to come back and stay again. The owners have supplied everything that you could need when staying away from home. They were very helpful and had notes in every room for tv, a/c, fireplace, rec center, and local directions. We enjoyed a fire every night and huge meals with room for all to enjoy. There were 13 of us, ranging in age from 4-63, with plenty of elbow room and things to do. This may become a yearly visit for us. Thank you!Recommended for: Families with young children.

I had my 50th Birthday celebration here and the location was perfect. I invited a few ladies to the event and the cabin was very spacious and located near a local restaurant and shopping. I would recommend this location for anyone having a small group such as family, ladies retreat to use this space. The owner was so pleasant and friendly. Thank you again for allowing me to use your cabin for such a special occassion. I intend to rent it again next year for my mom's 86th Birthday Celebration.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

This home is beautifully decorated and very large! There was 14 of us and we had plenty of room! The views are gorgeous! You can see mountain ranges for miles! This house has it all! The owners are so pleasant and even called us to make sure we arrived safely and everything was ok to our satisfaction. That added an extra special touch! The community has so much to offer for kids! It has swiming, fishing, playgrounds, waterfalls and much more! We enjoyed the hummingbirds on the deck! The adults and kids had a great time! We hope to return again next year for our annual family escape in the mountains! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and allowing us to take back some fond memories! I would highly recommend this property to anyone!Recommended for: Families with young children.

We booked a long weekend at this property at the recommendation of a good friend, and boy was she right! It was the perfect escape from August heat into cool, mountain air, refreshing breezes, and a vast panorama of mountains and blue sky framed by greenery. The three covered porches in themselves make the trip worthwhile. Furnished with rocking chairs and swings, they are ideal for relaxing, reading, and just catching up with oneself. The interior is absolutely charming and full of personality, giving the impression that one could be visiting the home of friends rather than a vacation rental. All the amenities are there. As others have said, it is the most thoroughly equipped rental we have ever had -- anywhere. The owner is readily accessible and has a friendly, welcoming attitude, much as if you are indeed friends coming for a visit. There is plenty to do in the area, and we hope to return before too long with the grandkids, but on this trip, we were happy to stay right there, atop the mountain with nothing more to do than walk the dog and swing -- or rock. We couldn't recommend it more highly!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you so very much, we love having friends stay with us. Friends are forever!!

We have been visiting Sky Valley for 17 years. This is by far the best home we have rented. The view is so far above any other. The house, having 3 levels makes it ideal for our yearly family reunion. Rocking chairs and swings on the porch is wonderful for the older members of our family and the game room is great for the kids. The house is very clean and comfortable plus is furnished with all the amenities you could want.Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

My family has been vacationing in Sky Valley for years and thought nothing could compare to our family's old, now-sold mountain house, until we stayed at this property and were pleasantly surprised. The photos provided are true to the house and are beautiful, but nothing is quite like stepping inside and immediately taking in the beautiful mountain view, which can be seen from the living room, kitchen, master bedroom, as well as the second floor! Nothing quite beats sitting outside on the main floor's covered porch, however, in one of the many rocking chairs or the porch swing. One afternoon, after a heavy rain, we watched the mist rise up through the mountains and change colors, which translated to beautiful pictures. The property was very spacious, but with four people it still felt cozy and not too large. Everything in the house was spotless, and many extras were provided, such as toiletries, cooking spices, trash bags, etc, which made it very liveable and convenient since the closest store (the Sinclair "Mountain Junction" store) is a little down the mountain. We brought our fifteen pound dog along who seemed to enjoy everything, particularly Sky Valley's waterfall, just a drive away and across the resort! This mountain house can not be recommended enough! There are many activities nearby that one can enjoy, such as fishing at Andy's Trout Farm (and then returning to the mountain house to grill your own dinner!), shopping in Dillard's own antique stores, hiking the outlined trails inside the Sky Valley Resort, eating at Annette's Cafe and the Dillard House (both in Dillard), as well as visit Black Rock Mountain State Park and picnicking at the highest point of the highest state park in Georgia! Also, just outside of Clayton one can visit Tallulah Gorge State Park. One of the trips highlights was a river ride on horseback courtesy of the Dillard House Stables. Ask for Amanda. All in all, you can not ask for a better vacation spot than Sky Valley. And if you have decided on this beautiful place, you couldn't ask for a better house or stay than this!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
