  The moment I drove down the dirt road I knew I had found the perfect vacation spot. The houses were very secluded (with the mild annoyance of a neighboring house being constructed). Chickens were running around wild and what a wonderful breeze thru the palms. Great friendly manager as well. I loved the decor; vintage and comfortable, beautiful fabrics and colors. Like old Hawaii. My family was there to be together and I was happy to not have the distraction of computers, phones and big television sets. I love the warmth of this home - it has character and charm and a killer view to boot. Perfect location. We will come back.

  This cottage completely exceeded our expectations. We liked it when we saw it online, and when we got there it instantly felt like home. It was incredibly spacious, very clean and fully furnished with everything we could possibly need for the week we were there. The back yard was a lot bigger than we expected, and allowed everyone space to spread out and do whatever they wanted. The views from the cottage were gorgeous, and with the private, sandy beach so close we felt like we were in our own secluded part of Oahu. The location was great, too, taking only a short drive to get to Sharks Cove, Laie Point, Sunset Beach and Waimea Beach, as well as plenty of places to buy food. Also, the property manager was great to work with, which made the whole experience that much more pleasant. If you want to vacation in Oahu and feel like you live there, this cottage is perfect. I would go back to it over and over again.

  My family spent 10 wonderful days in the large Cottage at Malaekahana. The description was accurate, photos did not do the retreat justice, property was clean except for tropical ants which were easily dealt with (bathroom/kitchen). The property manager greeted us shortly after arrival and also sent information on local amenities prior to our trip. I am from Oahu and travel back home regularly to vacation with my family. I love the fact that this vacation property is located on the country side of Oahu. We had the beach in our backyard which the kids could body surf, boogie board or surf without driving anywhere. We could eat at the nearby Turtle Bay, local food favorites, cook or BBQ as the unit comes completely stocked with utensils. The grocery store is down the road and even a local movie theatre. We drove to Waikiki to trinket shop which is an hour away. The large cottage had 3 bedrooms with multiple beds for large family like mine. The living room and master bedroom face the ocean which we kept open to enjoy the sound, breeze and views. I would recommend this only to people who truly want to experience paradise in Oahu.
