This villa was the first model home built in the Red Frog Resort community and its showcase swimming pool, large coral pool decks and thatched poolside hut (bahio) reflect tropical outdoor sensibilities to match the well appointed interior. Cool travertine tile flooring is underfoot in all areas and the open floor plan upstairs features a modern kitchen with tasteful granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and native hardwood cabinetry (also in both bathrooms). The entry level features an open floor plan: a great room with a huge beamed and vaulted ceiling, kitchen, hardwood dining table (with seating for 6, seating for 3 at the kitchen bar) and couch seating with entertainment system.
There is an expansive private loft above the great room with a king-size bed and sitting area with hide-a-bed sofa. The villa has two bedrooms (in addition to the loft): a master suite with queen-size bed and private bath and a secondary bedroom with two twin beds and adjoining bathroom. The home is designed to sleep 4-8 people.
The wrap around travertine tile deck skirts the entire villa and creates ample private sitting areas. This was a home that was built for entertaining and outdoor poolside dining options are a key feature. This vacation home is in the Los Altos neighborhood of the Resort which has the lowest density of homes with almost no through traffic while enjoying the Caribbean views right out the front door (the great room and front yard feature filtered Caribbean views). The villa is an easy five-minute cart ride (or 15 minute walk) to the popular Red Frog Beach with its beach club, activity center and Punta Lava Bar and Grill. The more secluded Turtle Beach is also within walking distance.
The incredible Bastimentos Sky Zipline Canopy tour is located within the resort and Kayukos Island Lounge and Restaurant features a mellow nightlife vibe and inexpensive meals. The lounge area is a great place to originate boat tours to Zapatilla Keys, Crawl Key, Dolphin Bay and other far-flung adventure spots. Transport within the resort is available from Resort Management with sufficient notice. Since the villa is located at the Red Frog Beach Resort, water sport activities (kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling) or nature based activities (hiking, beachcombing) are readily available on location.
No trip to the resort is complete without the 25-minute walk to Polo (North Beach), which features white sand beaches adjacent to one of the most scenic coral reefs in the archipelago. Great for protected swimming and snorkeling. More ambitious visitors can make the 3-hour round trip hike to Playa Larga in the Bastimentos National Marine Park. These trips can originate right out your front door. Both beaches are hawks bill and leather back turtle nesting grounds and can be seen during turtle nesting season with a guide. There are also volunteer opportunities.
Explore all that resort has to offer on foot or rent a golf cart (based on availability). We find that walking allows you to take in the natural beauty and see things you normally wouldn't in this amazing environment.

My wife and I and our boys aged 10 and 8 just spent an awesome week at Red Frog Beach! I looked at most of the villas both on line and in person and really think this is one of the best- if not THE best. Our boys had their own bedroom and bath which is right next door to the master which also has private bath. The upstairs loft is esentially a second master with catherdal cielings, great room, and flat screen tv. The down stairs great room/kitchen area is open and airy with large sliding doors that open to a 360 covered wrap around porch with views of the pool, jungle, and ocean! The house is very private as well. The pool is great and includes a vanishing edge and an outside shower that is just fantastic. Initally I was concerned that we were too far from the beach but that was NOT an issue. The view from the top of Red Frog at is amazing and must be seen for yourself! Rent a golf cart for just $35 a day and you zip down to the beach, marina, or activity center in just a few minutes. The boys thought the golf cart rides all over the property was great fun. The beach at Red Frog is truly beautiful and we did some nice surfing there. We are already planning our next trip back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

Why the Owner Chose Red Frog Beach:
We felt that our vacation home is in the best location in the Bocas del Toro region. The home is within walking distance of Red Frog Beach (one of the best beaches in this area) and you can take advantage of all the amenities of the resort. There is a bar and grill down by the beach, restaurant, zip line, an abundance of hiking, and 5 beaches on Isla Bastimentos. The house is only a ten minute boat ride away from the town of Bocas, so you can enjoy the nightlife in Bocas but come back to peace and tranquility.

Our villa is beautifully furnished and has all the modern conveniences including Wi-Fi and cable TV. There is an infinity edge pool with adjoining kiddie pool. Great for little ones! Our 3 and 5 year old love it.
