Villa Santa Lucia is a lovingly restored, 15th century country home for those looking for a touch of class and a place with a special feeling. The villa comes with a stunning view of the well-known Conca d’Oro (Golden Valley) and is within walking distance (1.5 km) of the charming village of Panzano in Chianti where you’ll find fashionable wine bars and special restaurants.
The villa sleeps 6 people and has two bedrooms with private bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a bathtub). It has a large living room with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. At the pool, you can enjoy breathtaking views, and the garden, with its antique roses, ancient vineyards and olive trees, is the place to savour Villa Santa Lucia’s relaxing atmosphere.
The villa is perfectly located for exploring nearby villages such as Volpaia , Radda, Castellina and Greve. It’s also an easy drive to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra.

The house is very pleasant, comfortably furnished, and full of light. It is laid out on five levels each separated by 3 to 5 steps. The view of the town and the valley is fantastic. Panzano is a fun town - we particularly recommend the Tuscan special dinner held above the butcher's shop. We came for a quiet relaxing week in the country but unfortunately the owner failed to tell us that there was a major construction project going on next door so instead the days were noisy and anything but relaxing. This house was everything we could have hoped for and more! The location in the adorable town of Panzano was wonderful, the bedrooms and living spaces were incredibly comfortable (the fireplace in the sitting room is amazing), and the views are out of this world. After traveling to various cities in Tuscany during the day, we found comfort every night upon returning to this special corner of Italy. Enough cannot be said about the kindness of the owner, Janine, and her family. They went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable and welcome. Janine, Roderick and Olivia, The last six days have been sensational, waking up to lavender scent and spectacular views over the surrounding country side. Your quaint villa exceeded our expectations and your warm hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. Each of your recommendations were Perfect and would have to say that Volpaia was one of our favourite spots, particularly Baruzzi and La Bottega. That takes nothing away from walking up to Panzano each morning for our daily espresso and croissant, not to mention the wonderful local characters. Thank you again for a wonderful week and would certainly recommend your beautiful villa to all our friends. Hello, Janine! We still remember our stay with you in July with great pleasure. I have a little airtight pot of lavender flowers from your garden and most days I open it briefly and have a ‘fix’ of the perfume. Just in case you have had so many visitors over the summer that you cannot remember us here is a photo taken at your lovely pool. Dear Janine, Once more many thanks for possibility to stay for these beautiful weeks in your magic House. Yesterday we arrived back home in Roudnice nad Labem – so is our small city near Praga called. We do miss sitting in your lovely Garden and listen Piano Cocertos ( I think that on your CD’s are one or two from production Czech Author Antonin Dvorak) and on 9 hear the bells( Panzano’s towerclock) over vineyards. About the owner: Many years ago I was driving through the rolling hills of Chianti, dotted with cypress trees and olive groves swaying in the breeze, with lovely hilltop villages offering their scent of jasmine and rosemary in the brilliant sunshine. “A place to be…” I thought. “A place to nourish my spirit and enjoy that beautiful sound of silence.” So I moved here permanently and opened an atelier in the old center of Panzano, and started decorating ceramics and designing wrought-iron furniture. I bought a barn within walking distance of Panzano and turned it into a comfortable, relaxing home in this little corner of paradise. It’s called Villa Santa Lucia. Its been recognized in interior design magazines for its lovely restoration and remains a dream come true for me. It’s also a dream I’m happy to share with you. Villa Santa Lucia is available for you to rent from 5 March 2011. It’s a place where your dreams of living in Italy can come true as well. We look forward to welcoming you! Janine
