We spent 8 days at this condo and enjoyed every minute of it. It is located south of the busy Kailua area but close to grocery stores, restaurants and many great beaches and snorkeling areas. The condo was great for our family of 5 and was well equipped with everything needed to have an enjoyable stay. The waves crashing on the rocks all night was natures sound machine. We all slept like stones, waking to to the sunrise coming up over the hills to the east. The local coffee, fruit and seafood are like nothing we can get in Michigan! Favorite trip was to the Captain Cook Memorial trail to the south for hiking and snorkeling. Highly recommended. Nice to head back to the condo every evening to wind down with the sunset. We will be coming back here! The condo was nice and clean, pictures on the web were accurate and the location could not have been better. Neighbors were quiet and friendly. Pool and tennis courts were in top condition and not crowded. Mahalo!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This listing was accurate and even more beautiful and luxurious in it's view, and location. Clean and well maintained swimming pool and BBQ area. 2 couples shared this condo for 8 days and had plenty of space and privacy. Large lanai with dining set and loungers to watch the whales and sunsets. We ate in all, but a few meals because we had the best location to dine in. Every morning we took a morning coffee stroll in the neighbourhood . Good snorkeling beach 10 minute walk and kayak rentals nearby. Yes, I would return and recommend to family and friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The unit was exactly as described and a perfect fit for the 4 of us. My 87 year old parents appreciated the ground floor. The place is fully equipped and top condition. The linens were outstanding. The location and views wonderful. Highly recommended. The only item in need of repair are the screen and sliding glass doors as they were difficult to operate and did not track well.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: the salt takes its toll, a little lube should take care of it

Beautiful condo with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Condo is in excellent condition and is clean and roomy. About 6 miles from downtown Kailua Kona, but very close to a complete shopping mall with grocery store, drug store and restaurants. I often stay at this complex and this is one of the nicer condos I have stayed in.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

It has been about a month since we left your Kona condo and I wanted to tell you that we loved it. The location was fantastic, the ammenities were perfect, the property was great and the condo was better than we hoped for. It was like home but much better. We liked it so much that our usual place in Maui was a let down. We can't wait to come back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This was our second stay at this condo, and we were happy to discover upon arrival that the owners have been actively updating and improving the place. It is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and super roomy for the two of us. Cute wall decorations, very appropriately tropical themed. The master bed is just so comfortable. Oh, and there's a new full-sized washer and dryer set. The condo has a variety of water toys, beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and tennis equipment. We took some floaties with us and walked the quarter mile north to Kahaluu Beach several times. There's also a flat screen with Netflix streaming and DVD player (and a few DVDs, which looked like good titles to me), and books for those days after you've accidentally gotten too sunburned. The lanai (patio) is really large with outdoor furniture for 6. It is newly tiled out there and looks great. Since we went in August, the gated complex was nearly empty, which was a definite plus. The tennis courts had just been refinished within the previous few weeks too, so we played a few games for fun. The assigned parking spot is near the door which made it easy to unload groceries and stuff. We saved quite a bit of money by making the majority of our meals in the kitchen instead of eating out. Sam Choy's up the hill is a lovely place for a romantic dinner, and it's close enough that we walked up there to get the metabolism going before chowing down. Overall, we recommend this rental, for couples or families with kids. If you want to really relax on the Big Island, and stay at a "home away from home", this is an excellent choice.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review.

After a long day of traveling you want everything to go smoothly your first night; this unit delivers. Easy to find, the gate and lock were a snap, thoroughly clean, and lots of extras. Just show up with a steak and a six-pack, fire up the grill and enjoy the sunset. Our family loved the view from the lanai and the constant reassuring sound of the surf breaking against the rocks. Our days consisted of waking up and enjoying a cup of world renowned kona coffee and a light breakfast, all the while watching the spinner dolphins play in the water, then heading to the beach. After the beach we had sunset dinner at the unit followed by an evening swim in the pool. We went out to dinner once the entire time we were in Kona and wished we had stayed at the unit. The unit was stocked with everything you need for the beach, chairs, cooler, umbrella (a must) floaties, etc, more than you could possibly carry. The unit is comfortably accommodated. "Comfortably accommodated” is code word for: the furnishings were not ultra modern, but they were well made and relatively comfortable, and most importantly I was not worried the entire time about what my two-year might ruin. Lots of rounded edges as well. The twin beds felt new, and the king bed was okay, not great. We loved the Netflix enabled blu-ray player. If you don’t understand that last sentence you don’t care, if you do, you understand what a nice perk it is. One caution, the last night we were there, the unit above us was occupied by a couple that woke-up at three in the morning and stomped around for hours. I don’t know if they were just loud and inconsiderate or if there is a sound proofing issue between the upstairs unit. Maybe a little bit of both. Funny though, we had next door neighbors the entire time and never heard them. Maybe that’s because they didn’t run a blender at five in the morning. I think a simple, “Mahalo for not make smoothies at five in the morning” would probably have fixed this issue, but since we were leaving we didn’t care enough to say something. And on the bright side, it was a great sunrise and the dolphins were early that morning.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We live in Northern California, a working couple who own their own business. We love to scuba dive, snorkel, water ski, swim, go boating, almost all the water sports! This Hawaiian condo is our second home.
Why the Owner Chose Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club:
We have vacationed in Hawaii many times and really enjoy all the Big Island has to offer, from the varied climate zones of the rainforests in Hilo to the dry Kona coast. There is always something to do and the weather is always wonderful. The Keauhou Surf and Racket Club is such a beautiful complex that we were excited to be able to purchase a unit there. It is private and quiet, conveniently located, and, I repeat, beautiful.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Whale watching in the winter. There is a small beach at the north end of the complex with sea turtles and tide pools. Spectacular sunsets.
