Lovely feel at home apartment
Lovely feel at home apartment

We arrived in Tucson after a long, late night flight and were exhausted. We opened the door to this lovely gem and breathed a sigh of relief, we felt at home. The location is very convenient, and even though it is so close to the lively district it is very quiet. There are some staples in the cupboard, we were thrilled to be able to make a cup of coffee and tea and even have honey in it before leaving the next morning. The bed is comfortable, the lighting very good. Our only problem was that there were no regular chairs. All chairs are high "bar type". That gets uncomfortable if working on a laptop or that type of activity for any length of time. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Tucson who wants to be near U of A or the downtown area. We thoroughly enjoyed it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband is a Univ. of AZ Wildcat alum and a huge sports fan. We made plans with Univ. of WA friends last year (after the Wildcats lost to the Huskies) to travel to Tucson to watch the rematch. As the game date drew closer, we discovered this "rematch" fell during UofA's "Family Weekend" and all hotels near the campus were booked up months in advance. My husband can be tough to please and is leery of vacation rentals. He prefers to stay at Hilton or Marriott hotels where he knows what to expect. Although he had his doubts, this place won him over! The home is conveniently located close to campus. If you plan to visit the campus - this place is PERFECT! We were able to walk to campus (10 min walk), to the football stadium (20 min walk) and even caught the "Red vs. Blue" basketball game at McHale Center. There is a wonderful shopping district near campus, great restaurants (highly recommend Gentle Ben's Brewing Co.) and happening places for "night life" all about a 10 minute walk away. There are also some additional dining options & an awesome cafe/organic foods market just a block away. The rental is tucked back in an older neighborhood and could be a little bit tricky to find after dark, but we were lucky and found it quickly. I felt very safe/secure, as the rental has an exterior locking gated entrance through the yard which leads to the home. Also, the home has those wonderful "security screen doors" that are popular in AZ. The home was clean, nicely furnished and had updated bathrooms & kitchen. The beds were quite comfortable. The home has a patio in the fenced yard with beautiful outdoor furniture and a gas barbeque grill. We had plenty of room and didn't feel we were tripping over one another. There is a TV in each of the 2 bedrooms, and one in the family room, with the cable listings provided. The home has secure wireless, with the access code provided. Surprisingly, the home's location was quiet and peaceful, even with the close proximity to businesses. I really can't think of any "down" side to this rental. The owner took great care to make sure everything you'd need is provided. I wish we would've had more time to enjoy this lively little find. We will definitely stay here again the next time we travel to Tucson! In case you're curious, the Wildcats beat the Huskies 52 -17. Our UW friends are eagerly awaiting the next "rematch" in hopes their Huskies can try to beat the Cats!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My family and I stayed here for Christmas 2011 and had the vacation of a lifetime. The home was cozy and the perfect layout. The owner, Susan, was easy to communicate with and even decorated the home with beautiful Christmas decorations. The location of the apartment is perfect for walking to 4th Ave and University. I hope to come back very soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

This was our first trip to Tuscon and we had a wonderful time staying at this apartment. It was a great location, it was very clean, and the amenities were perfect for us. Also, Susan provided excellent customer service both before and during our stay. We have two very young children and there was more than enough space for our whole family. Not only would we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Tucson, but this would be the only place we would stay if we came back to visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children.

My husband and I come to Tucson a couple of times a year, to visit our daughter and her family, and have stayed in a few vacation rentals in the area. This apartment is our favorite by far and will be our first choice from now on. The apartment is very nice; very clean and well-maintained, with all the comforts and conveniences, stylish and homey at the same time. The location is nice, in a quiet area of historic homes, feels safe, and is within convenient walking distance of the 4th Avenue restaurants and shops, downtown Tucson, the University of Arizona and Main Gate Square. The Reid Park complex (public golf course, pool, zoo, walking path, etc.) is just a short drive away, as are stores providing common necessities, such as Target and Safeway. Truly, for an extended stay in Tucson, I just don't think you could find a nicer vacation rental!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This place was our 'home base' in Tucson while visiting friends, and we enjoyed ourselves. It is very convenient, has all the amenities of home, and we were able to relax here. There is also a nice patio outside (and garden), and it felt like home. We would like to come back again someday. While visiting, we went hiking in 2 remote canyons to view wildlife, visited San Xavier del Bac, and also the Tohono Chul Botanic Gardens. All were excellent!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

this was a very cute and perfect place to stay. It was very clean and looks just like the pictures online. it was nicely decorated and up to date. It was great that the master bedroom has a seperate entrance. We loved sitting outside on the patio to enjoy the evenings. The owner had left supplies such as laundry detergent and cooking supplies which was nice not to have to purchase. it is right next to the university with a short walk to shops and food. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I recently stayed at this 2 bedroom property when in Tucson for a UA alumni golf tournament. All's I can say the pictures absolutely do this place justice! It is a beautiful, spacious villa for the same price (or even cheaper) than a hotel room. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is fully-equipped and plenty of linens are provided....not to mention the owner is so very accomodating and friendly. On all my future visits to Tucson I will either stay in this villa or the owners other 1 bedroom villa, there are no better places to stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

this property was exactly as described; delightful and charming. we came to Tucson for almost a week, and this was a great home base; easy to access Tucson from any direction. we appreciated having a kitchen, laundry facilities, comfy beds (2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms) and a quiet place to relax - all for less than the cost of one motel room. the owner gave us great directions from airport, plus the neighborhood is fun and funky - we felt safe to walk to nearby shops & restaurants. the nearby streetcar is a bonus (1 block walk; for $1 you can ride to UofA). if you go over to UofA campus, they have great (and free!) museums, plus the university district is a fun place to visit. owner also left local info pages and there are tourist brochures and area restaurant menus, plus books & games in the property. lovely patio for morning coffee. would absolutely stay here again and again and again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
