Original art. Reclaimed materials. Local products. The beautiful flat, Olio e Aceto, offers a unique experience for guests who want to fully experience wine country culture. Inspired by the agricultural bounty of the valley and utilizing reclaimed products throughout, this 550 square foot one bedroom apartment has a fabulously comfortable queen sized bed, a lovely living room with views of downtown McMinnville, and a bathroom with a restored claw foot tub. The spacious kitchen has been designed especially for foodies and those who love to cook when they travel. It has everything you'll need to fully experience our local food, including a dining area in the kitchen and table for six. A large skylight floods this flat with natural light, and floor to ceiling windows provide a view of life on the street below.
The historic 1885 flat underwent a green renovation in 2010 and features bamboo floors throughout; recycled paperstone counters in the kitchen; marmoleum floors in the bathroom; low VOC paint; and hand crafted furnishings from a local artist. The flat also features many local products, such as soaps from Bumble Bee Hill Farm, coffee roasted just downstairs by Cornerstone Coffee Roasters, and of course our complimentary Third Street Flats Pinot Noir and Sea Salt Caramels from Honest Chocolates waiting for you upon your arrival.
Like all our flats, Olio e Aceto features original works, ranging from ceramics to mixed media, from local artists including Bradley Speer and Mitch Horning. Guests will also enjoy the honor bar hosted by Abbie & Oliver's Artisan Cheese, room service by the acclaimed local restaurant La Rambla, and an in-flat book exchange compliments of Third Street Books. And don't forget to check out all the other perks that come with a stay at Third Street Flats.
Located in the heart of McMinnville’s Historic Downtown, Olio e Aceto is just steps from the best dining, sipping and shopping the Yamhill Valley has to offer! Google Third Street Flats for more information about all four of our flats, as well as our online calendar of availability and secure online booking engine.

What a lovely place! My husband and I were charmed by the loft-like "Olio e Aceto" Flat (#2) with its exposed brick and other design touches, high ceilings, and huge windows (which we mostly kept well shaded since the area was in the midst of a heat wave during our stay -- the stand-alone A/C unit and ceiling fans were extremely efficient at keeping us cool). The bed and sofa were very comfortable, and the large kitchen picnic-style table with benches was great for enjoying our indulgent brunch the last morning (as well as serving as a lazy travelers' catch-all for all our maps, wine boxes, and guidebooks). The location was perfect for our short stay in the area -- downtown in easy walking distance of several winery tasting rooms and restaurants, and a short drive to any of the other wineries in the Willamette Valley area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

About the owner: My name is Erin Stephenson and my husband Travis and are avid travelers who have loved experiencing Europe by staying in apartments. From Poland to Portugal and many places in between, we have rented apartments on a nightly basis and LOVED the independence, and the feeling that we were a part of the community, rather than a mere observer. We decided that we wanted to bring this style of accommodations to downtown McMinnville, and allow tourists in our own community enjoy travel the way we do, through a mixture of independence and hospitality.
Why the Owner Chose McMinnville:
We decided to start Third Street Flats to help give tourist a truly local experience--to allow them to live life in Downtown McMinnville like a local, experiencing the best that the Willamette Valley has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The benefits of staying with Third Street Flats are endless, but it's best described at the perfect mixture of location, style and comfort, in a format (both green and local) that guests can feel good about.
