OCEAN, SUNSETS, OCEAN, SUNSETS, OCEAN...that is all you will see looking from your two private verandas. Our townhouse is exclusive in that it is a two floor unit. Our unit is one of a few that offers a completely private second floor where you will find a spacious master bedroom with a full private bath and fully screened veranda. You will also find a full private bath in the guest bedroom.
***There will be no guests walking by your bedroom windows or your veranda. You can leave the windows and veranda wide open to enjoy the magnificent Caribbean trade wind breezes***
Wake up to the sound of exotic birds, ocean waves, or a pod of dolphins passing by as you enjoy your morning coffee on the veranda before you greet your guests or children for the day. The views are like no other.
The first floor of our townhouse has a half bath, a kitchen and dining room which will seat 6, perfect for entertaining friends and family. Our fully stocked kitchen will make dining in, a pleasurable experience. We also have a dining table for four on the veranda where you can enjoy a private candle lit dinner for two or a refreshing drink during sunset. Even if you decide to stay in for the evening, you can gaze out at the beautiful Caribbean waters right from your living room.
We also have a small office work area on the first floor where you can set up your laptop. You will also find a Bonaire resource compiled with local maps, restaurant locations, important phone numbers and many other suggestions to make your stay easier and more enjoyable. As our guests, we want you to feel at home and come back to 'our home away from home'. Please let us know how much you enjoyed your stay and if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable.
Our townhouse is tastefully appointed and spacious. We offer plenty of closet space and plenty of gear hooks for your scuba equipment. You will not have to carry wet gear to your condo at the Sand Dollar, if you choose not to. One of the many dive shops in Bonaire is located on the premises with a private gear storage room..
We are fortunate to be located on the famous Bari reef, known for its diversity of fish species. Enjoy nonstop shore diving any time of the day(or evening) all within your reach. Relax in the sun with a book or enjoy a snorkel. I promise it will be the most exciting snorkel you have ever experienced.

We returned last week from Bonaire and can't wait to go back. The condo was as advertised and the staff was very helpful, especially the first morning. I forgot to buy sugar for my wife's coffee on our grocery run when we got off of the plane...My kids loved their twin beds and the towel critters that Rosa made for them each day. You can tell that they are updating as they go and we didn't really want for anything. We will definitely consider renting this unit again. The Fish ID week coincided with our visit and was fantastic. I highly recommend that the Sand Dollar and Bonaire Dive and Adventure have Scott and Patty back again. We learned a ton about the local fish on Bari Reef and were able to go on a dive with them pointing out the different species including an octopus. We rented a truck to go to the National Park, but you could stay here all week and never need a car. Thanks for the wonderful week!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

This property is set in the very heart of caribbean diving excellence! Whether you dive Bonaire's many and varied dive sites or just stay put and dive Bari reef, you know you have a comfortable and welcoming place to stay and relax. I would recommend this property to all my friends. I know for our dive plans next year, Bonaire and this property is tops on our list.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

This is a very good apartment with a splendid view of the sea and Kline Bonaire. The owners systematically take care of it and make improvements. We spent a week and we will certainly return and use the same accommodation. A dive shop is just around the corner, there are a couple of shops within a walking distance and just a 10-minute drive to the center of Kralendijk. What is more, it was our first visit and the owners sent us an extensive email full of very useful information. Internet addicts need to be patient, because internet is a bit slow and unstable. Great vacation, very pleasant apartment, kind & communicative owners. Highly recommended. We love to Scuba dive in January and we feel Bonaire has the best diving in the Caribbean. Over 32 years we have been to over 20 locations. Bonaire is also far enough south to be warm enough in the coldest part of winter. The condo has a great view of the ocean from the screened lanai which with the wide opening doors becomes a part of the living space. The condo is complete and quite roomy and bright. Each bedroom has its own full bath and there is a half bath on the lower (living) level. We found it quiet and private for a large complex, being up one level helps the view and keeps you out of view of the people walking by although we did not find a lot of people around. The reef out front is great and the access and exit are easy. Boat diving, always on time, is also available from the dive shop on site which has a gear storage area. Donna was helpfull and we enjoyed every restaurant she recommended. Shore diving is great from many locations although they are not all easy.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About: Dennis and Donna O'Shaughnessy. We live in upstate New York (Brrrrr). Bonaire is where Dennis and I enjoyed our very first vacation together. I fell in love immediately. Bonaire is where I was certified to dive and I haven't stopped since. Dennis has been diving for over 30 years and has dove all over our planet! We belong to a scuba diving club and come back to Bonaire again and again! We are anxiously awaiting retirement so that we can spend our winters in Bonaire. Dennis is a private business owner for 35 years, and I am a public employee for going on 34 years. We purchased our unit in the Spring of 2010. We both love to decorate so will be very busy putting our 'touch' on our home away from home.
Why Kralendijk:
We actually didn't set out to buy a rental but a vacation 'home' for the winters. We loved the Sand Dollar, having previously co-owned a unit with dear friends. The grounds are large and very private. We were especially interested in owning a unit that had private verandas and baths in each bedroom. We never feel like we are in a 'hotel or rental' when we are in our unit. The staffs at Sand Dollar are always friendly and helpful. You will often see the manager walking around to be sure everything is up to par. I will never forget our first visit to Sand Dollar. Many will bring refreshments to the ocean-side patio to enjoy the sunset and share your dive of the day. I was amazed how friendly everyone was and immediately felt like I had known some of these people for a long time. We were invited on dives with others and even out to dinner! I don't think you will ever lack for a dive buddy at the Sand Dollar. Just show up!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Most Bonaire vacationers will rent a truck so as to enjoy all the island dive sites and amenities. You can park right outside of our unit. However, if you chose not to, you have everything you need right here...shore diving, an amazing reef; a dive shop on each side of the Sand Dollar that offers boat dives, air and nitrox fills, dive supplies, rentals, training and of course, storage for your dive gear. They also offer kayak rentals. In our back yard there is a deli, ice cream parlor, small grocery, and bank with ATM.. There are tennis courts, a pool, lounge chairs, a private beach and barbecue grills; along with two open air bar and restaurants (one has tables within five feet of the ocean). We offer Wi-Fi and digital TV in our unit. You can arrange a cell phone through the office. Beach towels are provided each day, as well as fresh linens and maid service.
