This home and location is lovely! My husband and I vacationed here in December, with goals of resting, spending time together, reading, and exercising. The calm and peaceful atmosphere was just what we were looking for—it was so nice to build a fire and relax as we looked out over the quiet lake. The house was perfect—much bigger than what the two of us needed, but extra space is always nice! Everything in the house is coordinated and beautifully decorated, yet it’s still functional and “liveable”—it just felt cozy and comfortable. We went into Brevard (20 minutes away) one day and enjoyed visiting all the local shops. While there, we had lunch at The Falls Landing (great sandwiches, burgers, and hand-cut fries!) and then stumbled upon an authentic soda shop (Rocky’s Soda Shop) and I had a fabulous ice cream brownie sundae and my husband had a frozen lemonade that he is still talking about. There’s also a huge toy store downtown with really friendly and helpful employees. The house has a gas grill and fully equipped kitchen, and the Ingles in Brevard has a surprisingly good selection of organic foods, so we stayed in a few nights to cook and grill out (there’s also a Redbox at the Ingles if you’re looking for movies). For dinner out one night, we went to the Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company (15 minutes away)—good beers on tap, but the food was only mediocre. Had planned to go to the Brown Trout, just a couple miles away, but they were closed that night (call ahead for hours/reservations if you’re visiting in the off season!). We brought our road bikes and found a 12-mile loop around the lake—some good hills, and the only traffic to speak of was on Highway 64. We also went for a run around the golf course and it was beautiful. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with—quick to respond to our questions and offer suggestions and tips about the area. Our vacation was wonderful and just what we needed—would definitely come back. Thank you for letting us use your cozy home for our time away—it exceeded our expectations and we met all of our vacation goals!

Our family of four, including two boys under the ages of five, spent four nights here, and it wasn't long enough. The home is exceptionally comfortable and the lakefront location is perfect. We spent the mornings on the canoe, afternoons fishing on the dock, and evenings relaxing in the backyard/patio. Jimmy came by to give us suggestions for activities and went above and beyond to guide us. Lake Toxaway now stands as the favorite part of our two-week stay in the western Carolina, and we'll be returning as soon as possible. Thanks.

We spent a week in this lovely and comfortable lake home. We rented a boat on two occasions and were able to pull right up to the dock and pick up some of the group. The lake was great for skiing, tubing and just boobing around to cool off in the heat. We cooked steaks on the grill and enjoyed dinner on the porch. The owners were very accommodating with all of our requests for helpful information in advance, and while we were there. Highly recommended property. I don't think the pictures due it justice. It is even prettier than depicted. Make sure you visit the Biltmore--well worth it!

House was awesome! Lake was incredible. Marina was a pleasure to work with and kids loved the tubes. G-Daddy loved pulling grandkids on tubes all day and then sunset fishing. I did not worry about my kids safety while tubing on lake because no jet ski and I believe at "high time" on the lake there were 6 boats max! Canoeing and kayak after breakfast is a must. House very clean, comfortable and a lovely view of Lake Toxaway. Owners were very prompt and helpful. House had everything from towels to games for the one rainy morning we had. Set up a badminton/volleyball net on the lush lawn and played while dinner was on the grill. Never really left the house except to get ice. So relaxing and peaceful. We will return to your slice of heaven...very soon!

This house was perfect for our family. Very nice inside and out and sits on a beautiful lake with a view of the mountains. Lots of other similar homes close by but trees provided privacy. The house has nice size sleeping space on the first two floors which comfortably works for 8 people. It also has a basement with a trundle bed with a full bath as well. The first floor had baths attached to each bedroom and the upstairs area had two bedrooms (one is a sun room but trees provided lots of shade). and a bath attached. It was very nicely furnished. Kitchen had everything we needed except a large frying pan. Other than the winding mountain roads, we loved the place. Went fishing, swimming, hiking, tubing...would have liked to have had a boat included because boat rentals are very expensive in the area. We visited Brevard and the Highlands, both interesting towns. It was wonderful to get up in the morning and enjoy coffee on the deck and , of course, the breeze off the lake was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it as a wonderful family vacation spot!

Only happy memories remain of our wonderful week at this charming home that was ours for one week in May. Five long time women friends traveled from California and North Carolina for a week of adventure, laughter and exploration of the area. I slept in a lovely room upstairs that we quickly named the "tree house" as one wall was all windows and had a window on either end. One had a view of the lake and the others were surrounded by big trees. The Queen bed was so comfy, and the fresh mountain air from the open windows was welcomed durinhg the night. I loved waking each morning to the sounds of the many birds that were ready to sing you awake. Everything was furnished so well, and was very homey and comfrotable. We had plenty of room to spread out (indoors & out), and had our quiet time when wanted or needed. Every amenity was provided that you could possibly want. The location was ideal, close to Asheville to visiit The Biltmore, The Grovepark Inn, shopping and more. We fixed most of our meals in, however, enjoyed a fabulous dinner one night at The Brown Trout, just down the road. We enjoyed the shrimp lobster bisque so much that we returned on another evening with a big pot and brought it back for our dinner at the Lake. View of lake could not have been better, and only a few steps from the property. While there take the opportunity to visit the many waterfalls that await you. They offer great walks and plenty of picture opportunites. Given the opportunity to return? Yes, I would!

I was fortunate enough to spend a week at this beautiful mountain house. The setting is gorgeous - especially in the early morning when the lake is like a mirror (I have pictures to prove that!) The house is well maintained, clean & very comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out & the amenities were as described. We ventured into the small towns nearby & also visited Biltmore, which I would visit again in a heartbeat. As for restaurants - the Brown Trout is a must & it's right down the road! Would I go back to 70 Innsbruck? No question - it's definitely a place to recharge one's batteries!!!

Stop right here!!! Look no further!! This is it!! If you love lakeside living surrounded by incredibly beautiful mountains, then this is the place for you. This home is immaculate, spotless, not to mention professionally and tastefully decorated; everything was well maintained. I would have no hesitations about reccommending this property to anyone. When you stay at this house you have to try the Brown Trout restaurant just a mile or two down the road....fabulous!! And, of course if you are interested in shopping, you cannot miss Highlands and Brevard; while in Highlands eat lunch at the Old Edwards Inn. Asheville is an hour away but well worth the ride. If your travel plans include Lake Toxaway, you must consider 70 Innsbrook; this is your mountain dream home!

About the owner: As a widow with three boys, I bought our home in 2000 as a place of healing and rest and it has truly been that! We have had wonderful times and have great memories here. We entertained my sons' high school and college friends, one son got engaged here and later married here. We have had extended family reunions here and we look forward to many more years of memory making!

Why the Owner Chose Lake Toxaway:
Equidistant from Atlanta and Charlotte, Lake Toxaway provides a respite from city living and allows us to reunite with family members and loved ones in a beautiful mountain setting. Lake Toxaway provides easy access to the amenities of Highlands, Cashiers and Brevard. No matter what we desire, we always find it when we are 'at the lake!'
