Artsy and fun flat, with wood floors and big windows. Easy to navigate the city from with public transportation just steps down the street. Owner attentive and accessible. The kitchen in the flat makes breakfast and lunch (or any meal) easy for travelling with kids or living on a budget. Little patio porch nice for a glass of wine or fresh air at the end of the day. Very pleased and happy with this VRBO.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Jan is fantastic to work with. He was always very responsive, both before and during our trip. We were not able to stay in this particular apartment due to a last minute issue, however Jan was quick to find us a replacement flat in an amazing area, walking or biking distance to everything. Despite the hiccup, he put our minds at ease and the flat ended up being perfect for us. Jan picked us up at the airport (very early in the morning!), and brought us to the apartment, where we were greeted with a basket of goodies. That evening he brought us on a guided bike tour of the city, which was one of our favorite experiences of the trip! He gave us a local’s view of the city, showed us some beautiful buildings, and gave us some great ideas and tips for the rest of our stay. Although I can’t speak to this particular flat, I will say that if/when we visit Amsterdam again, we will surely reach out to Jan.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks, I still feel sorry for the fault I made, but I'm very pleased that it didnt not ruined your stay in Amsterdam! You are welcome next time you come around, sincerely, Jan Gráve.

Loved our stay. Owner could not have been more accommodating. The upstairs neighbor, Gerry, greeted us w/ a Christmas cake she had baked that morning. She was lovely & very helpful throughout our stay. Great location, easy access to public transportation. We would enjoy staying here again. Gerry, hope we didn't keep you up at night!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Joe, I not only missed your stay while I am in Chili, but I also missed the famous christmas cake of Gerry! You welcome the next time you visit Amsterdam, greetings, Jan.

This lovely comfortable suite is in the PERFECT location, within quick and easy walking distance to pretty much everything ... Central Station, shopping, sightseeing, etc etc. The Owner Jan was available should anything have been required and also very helpful and knowledgeable about pretty much anything you want to do or know about Amsterdam or the dutch culture! If another trip to Amsterdam is in the works, this is the FIRST place I will check for availability! Thank you, Jan and Adriana for being such wonderful hosts.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Janine and Dean, you're always welcome the next time visiting our city. We keep in touch, and hopefully one day I find the time to visit your place aswell.

Jan made my wife and I feel very welcome and he personally organized a walking tour and a country drive in his vehicle. The accommodation proved to be quite spacious and there were lots of books and reference materials. Breakfast and friendly chats made us feel at home and Jan is very knowledgeable about his country. We had a great time in Amsterdam - Thanks Jan.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Jan is a great host and a very helpful person. He went out of his way to accommodate us during our recent trip to Amsterdam. He picked us up at the airport in his large van, and gave us a nice tour of central Amsterdam. He calls himself an "Ambassador of Amsterdam" - and he truly means it. He runs this B&B because he is so passionate about welcoming people to his hometown - and not so much for money. It is really hard to find such good people in hospitality business where everyone is trying to make a quick buck from tourists. During our stay with him for 4 days, Jan always came across as a caring friend, and not as a businessman. I feel that now I have a new friend in Amsterdam :-)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Raj, you and your family are always welcome in Amsterdam and will find me as a friend, or, with your words as a ambassador of hospitallity.......

Great location- bascially on the edge of Centrum, a quick walk and you were in the midst of the city. We both love to walk, and so we thought the location was excellent and we walked everywhere from the front door to museums, the infamous Red Light district, boat tours etc. Jan is a very friendly and accomodating host. He picked us up from the airport and then gave us a tour in his van and also took us to a great heritage park- HIGHLY recommend that stop by the way!! Upon arrival, he then showed us a bit of the city as we walked to the fish market with him and his son -a nice introduction to the busy streets. Of course by Western Canadian standards, pretty much everything in Europe is `old' and the building itself blends right in with `old Europe' style- we felt like locals, and really loved it. Great host; decent facility; friendly; clean; spacious- we would certainly recommend this unit. We couldn't get the TV to work, but I'm not much of a tech guy either :) Should we ever go back to Amsterdam, we will check in again for availability. Thanks for the memories Jan! Owner response: Thanks for this nice review, we also enjoy your stay at our place. We keep on trying to make our geust feel welcome and still try to improve. But that is only possible with remarks and comments from our geust, so we can learn become even better. We have just started a new bike rental facillity, bikes for tours and rides in and around the city, with seats for kids. Greetings, Jan, Adriana and Johan.

We could not say enough about Jan's great place and his helpfulness. We decided to show up to Amsterdam a few days earlier than we originally planned (without a place to stay) and Jan found us a friend's place until his apartment was available. The apartment was perfect for us... my husband and I and our 5 year old. Lots of room, toys, music and it was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. We rented biked and Jan lent us biking maps and took us on a biking tour. He gave us all kinds of information about the city. And Jordaan is a lovely, vibrant and safe neighborhood. There is a great park to run around a few blocks away. And great food and shopping everywhere. We even found an Organic Market a few blocks away. Thank you so much Jan and Adrianne for such a great first visit to Amsterdam. We will never forget it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We took our 3 year old son to stay at Jan and Adriana's apartment for 4 days. The apartment is in a very good location, in the beautiful Jordaan district, walking distance to Central station, and with a tram line ouside the door! The apartment and owners are very child-friendly, as they have a 2.5 year old son themselves. Jan and Adriana offered us different sleeping options for the child: the sofa bed or a fold-away single bed. Our double bed was so large that in fact our son could also have easily fitted in there with us.The apartment had everything we needed, a well-stocked kitchen, dining and living areas, a separate bedroom, and lots of toys. It was a very comfortable place to spend some time, cooking meals in the evenings, or just relaxing whilst waiting for the rain to stop! Conveniently, Jan and Adriana live downstairs, in case we ever needed anything. They lent us a larger pan one evening, and Jan would come upstairs sometimes to ask if his son could come and play. This was definitely the highlight of Amsterdam for our 3 year old! The apartment is up one steep flight of steps, but we could leave the pushchair folded at the bottom of the stairs. I would definitely stay there again as it's a lovely apartment and very child friendly.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Azadeh! Mine son is also lookingout for another visit, see you again, sincerely Jan & Adriana

My husband and I stayed 5 days here and loved it. Great space, easy to access the city, well stocked. (The owner also has a great cd collection). Right near the tram line which takes you everywhere. Quiet, private, nice market up the street one day a week with great food. Larger market in walking distance another day. Felt right at home. Would definitely go backRecommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: It felt like I knew you for years. I hope to see you one day back! Sincerely, Jan & Adriana.

About the owner: As owner of the B&B, I lived all mine life in this neighbourhood. We live aswell in the building, and are able to help you to find the secrets spots, special places in historical Amsterdam. I love to take the geust on a tour through the historical center of the city, meanwhile showing them the few wooden houses, and let them taste the variety of dutch food. Like haring, stroopwafels, cheese, kroket, jenever. In mine early years I was travelling the world and appreciate the help from local people when they show there place where they live. It gives me a good basic of knowlegde to welcome the geust to Amsterdam. Even with bad weather or lowcost restaurants, whatever you are searching, I find the place to visit to spend your time efficiently. we have a small boys these days, so we can provide toys, bed and other things for familys with young kids. Bike rental with a child seat is possible. I hope to welcome you at our apartment and gave you a memorable stay in Amsterdam!
Why the Owner Chose Amsterdam:
I bought the aparment from mine old man, who had it many years in his property. When I moved in the house it was al wornout, a ruine. It took me nearly ten years of hard work to get it in shape. Three years ago I met mine wife in south amerika and ask her to live with me in Amsterdam. It was for her, that I started in the first place the bedandbreakfast. It is really a bussines of both of us now, and we enjoy it very much to welcome geust and help them around in Amsterdam.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The social contacts, knowing your neighbours, the safe envirement and the many store's, park, restaurants, cafe's made me already live here for 20 years. I was born in the neighbourhood, so I know this part of Amsterdam thoroughly
