Two Bedroom Apartment with Parking and Elevator in Lourmarin
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This apartment is modern with all the modcons for comfortable living. It is spacious, airy, light and convenient for a relaxing vacation. The basement parking and elevator makes it unique in the village as parking is very scarce in the villages of Provence. The apartment overlooks the famous Lourmarin Friday market and is 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village with all its restaurants, shops, boutiques and art galleries.
The 'terrasse' (balcony) is ideal for drinks or just relaxing and enjoying the views. Lourmarin is within minutes of Cucuron, Bonnieux and Vaugines where 'The Good Year' with Russell Crowe was filmed.
There are two comfortable bedrooms each with 2 single beds and built-in cupboards; one bathroom with shower, vanity basin and wc; one seperate wc and basin; one shower with basin and washing/dryer machine; open plan kitchen fully equipped with stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, sink, fridge, freezer and fully stocked with pots/pans, cutlery, crockery and glasses; open plan dining room and lounge with satelite TV, DVD player and Internet Connection (Optional at nominal charge); and spacious open balcony seating four people.
Lourmarin is the trendiest and most popular of all the villages of Provence with its array of restaurants and bars, trendy shops, bakeries, wine shops and art galleries. It is the most beautifull of the villages and is visited by all travellers to Provence and is within comfortable travelling distance of Avignon, St Remy, Chateauneuf de Pape, L'Isle-s-la-Sorgue and Aix-en-Provence. Marseilles and the quaint seaside village of Cassis on the Med is one hour away and the French Riviera with Cannes, St Tropez and Nice two hours comfortable driving as is Monte Carlo - all can be done in day trips.

We loved the apt and perfect for a home base for travel. The apt has all the needed items and then some. The pictures are as true as the experience. Grete was the perfect hostess. She did such a great job orientating us to the town and apt we did not have to contact her at all during our stay. On one day we had breakfast in Provence, lunch in Monte Carlo, dinner in Italy and back "home" in 12 hours. Vincent your apt and your communication with us was seamless. We hope to return and stay longer and will refer our friends. Please use us as a reference. We had the privilege to share this lovely apartment with another couple for 2 weeks and what a wonderful apartment it turned out to be. We have travelled to France for 10 years now and this is by far the best apartment we have ever found. The rooms are spacious with very large cupboards, the kitchen has all the appliances, cutlery, utensils, glasses and crockery that one needs to make food and enjoy it at the dining table which can seat 6 or even 8. This was very useful when other friends came for dinner. The outside terrace is lovely to sit and read and enjoy drinks overlooking the big open square. It also overlooks the Friday Market which is the best Market we have ever been to. The basement parking proved to be a blessing as the street parking gets taken up very quickly. The elevator was particularly welcome when we returned laden with packets and parcels and our arrival and departure with the luggage too !!! The extra shower and extra toilet made sharing with another couple so much more usable and convenient - all our previous places had one bathroom and mostly the toilet was in it aswell. The friendly lady who welcomed us named Greta was a pleasure to deal with. We will use this apartment again and can recommend this apartment without hesitation. The village of Lourmarin must just be the prettiest village in the whole of France !!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you very much for the lovely review. I just am so happy when people enjoy staying at our apartment as much as we do ourselves. The village of Lourmarin is very very special and this helps make the stay there so enjoyable. The markets on Fridays are such fun and are always a highlight - we try to arrange our trips to be able to spend 2 Fridays there. It would be a pleasure to welcome you and your friends back in the future.

This apartment was great. My husband & I are seniors and stairs are an issue. We had underground secure parking with an elevator to the apt. It sits on the main square but Lourmarin is a small town and noise was not an issue at all. The Friday market was lovely and upscale, great buys. The apt is well furnished with a great kitchen, laundry and two bathrooms with showers. Great for more than one couple. The owner and Grethe who looks after the apt were wonderful to deal with. Would certainly highly recommend to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This is a tribute to our dear friend Greta Bidou who takes care of our apartment. I am delighted that our guests enjoy our place so much and thanks to them we look forward to more people visiting our apartment. Thank you for taking the time to write the review.

On behave of my wife, we like to thank you for the great apartment you furnished for us 7/29-8/1/11. We loved the apartment. A modern apartment like you think you are in a big city. Balcony overlooking the square. We were not there for market day as that was our move in day. we got there 3PM from Cavallion's market. Greta waited for us and was very gracious. She spent time with us and even came back with the internet codes. Great recommendations to some dining in neighboing towns. There was one place we went to where you eat what they cook that day in a hamlet setting with vine and lavendor fields. They had these local apperitif that you cant get anywhere. They had this le plat serviced on a tray with 15 ot 18 little dishes of finger food(comme tapas). The kitchen was so well equiped we went to morning markets, buy food and cook dinner. The town of Coucoron was where Russel Crowe and Marion (A beautiful year) had the dinner date at the etang! Love the apartment. The market in Apt on Staurday was awesome. As good if not better than the ones in Il sur la Sorge and St Remy. Will probably be back in DecemberRecommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

The apartment is an absolute delight. Perfectly situated on the square (with the village market unfolding below the baclony on Fridays), and 30 seconds walk from all the street cafe's, the two little supermarkets, and the boulanger we've become addicted to. From the comfortable bedrooms (lots of spacious cupboards to unpack the suitcase), to the neat and clean bathrooms (biggest shower I've seen in France) the enjoyable living area, and perfectly equipped kitchen, the whole experience over-delivered against expectation. And, of course, having a garage for the car and an elevator for the heavy suitcases at the very reasonable rates, just add the final touches of perfection. With so many beautiful villages to choose from, it was only after more than a week of exploration that we realized Lourmarin was an inspired (and lucky) choice. Just the right size, with real Provencal atmosphere, incredible architecture, and breathtaking colours and textures. (And we haven't seen a tourist bus yet ..) We adore the apartment, we are absolutely in love with Lourmarin, and Provence is an unforgettable experience. We'll be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: I am very greatfull that D & A have taken the time to write a review because all the praise previously has been in the form of e-mails sent directly to me and as such never appear on VRBO. The village of Lourmarin is indeed VERY special and there really is no other village that even comes close to this remarkable little gem. We are of course very proud of our apartment and it is kept in pristine condition. We can honestly say that we have not had a single person who has not loved it !
