This is a great place to stay and we really enjoyed our visit. Arrived to a beautiful and stunning 1 BR cottage that reminds me of Italy. Walk thru the front door and instantly relieved with stunning views of the coast range and beautiful sunsets. I have vacationed here twice and used as a work rental. After the day, I felt rejuvenated after a shower in the very large tiled Tuscan style bathroom. Full kitchen with soap stone counter tops. cup of tea and looking thru the windows in the evenings. The owners Kimberly and Ralph Cox exude professionalism with a mind on privacy. They were friendly and accommodating if I needed anything. Orange grove where I picked and ate juicy oranges each morning. California King comfortable Bed (better than home) (Too many good things to say and not enough space) I have traveled extensively throughout my career and this is the place to be. Thank you for the friendly and comfortable atmosphere during a stressful work week. New Friends P.S. I'm coming back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Beautiful landscaped surrounding property, with the best tangelos which we ate several dozen while there. Superbly decorated guest house. Kim and Ralph are excellent hosts. We hope to return sometime.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We arrived on a dark rainy night to a beautiful, cozy cottage and woke up to a glorious morning with great coffee, a gorgeous patio and spectacular views. We found the accommodations to be luxurious and welcoming. We are particular travelers and found "our" cottage to have every amenity of a five star hotel. We loved our visit and made new friends with Kimberly and Ralph.They were definately an added treat to our stay. We look forward to our next visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

It was perfection as soon as we laid eyes on it, but now that it served as our home base for our wedding weekend, it holds an even more special place in my heart. The setting is spectacular, the hospitality is unmatched... we even invited Ralph and Kimberly to join us for the wedding! We expect to stay here many more times in the future and will recommend it to all our friends. Well, the first thing you will want to do is pack up and move in! We have stayed in a few VRBO properties and this is without a doubt the most unique and special. Ralph and Kimberly are a delight and so solititous about your privacy. The cottage is amazing....beautifully furnished, maintained and equipped. The gardens are lovely, the view from the rockers on the veranda serene, fresh oranges to pick for your breakfast, rabbits and squirrels running around. There is nothing else we would have wanted I can tell you that. Conveniently located for all activities and sightseeing or just enjoying the peace and quiet.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I just returned from a fabulous southern California wine country getaway in Fallbrook. The cottage is exquisitely furnished with high end appliances and fixtures. The landscaping is gorgeous and the oranges from their orchard were the best we've ever had. I would definitely recommend an extended stay. The gracious owners live in a separate house on the property, but are incredibly respectful of your privacy and are readily available to answer any questions you might have.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband, two year old son and I stayed here for a week long vacation...it was a dream. Fresh oranges and tangelos at your front door everyday. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We were warmly welcomed and any questions we had while we were there were answered before we asked them. As far as distance to attractions in the area...it took us about 30-45 minutes to get from the cottage to The San Diego Zoo and Sea World (the drive is very pretty). The owners are amazing and so helpful. If we are ever back in the San Diego area, we hope we can stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I chose this as a getaway from the Nothwest rain and cold and found it to be ideal for our needs. The host couple are commited to making things perfect for their guests. They are warm friendly people who who are good about respecting privacy. The cottage is beautifully designed and appointed with everything two people need. The view and landscaping really feels like country. The availability of fresh oranges and tangeloes off the trees was an added feature. We had great walks and found good wilderness hiking 30 minutes away. There are many golf courses within a half hour and most have reasonable fees. The nearby town of Fallbrook is not a touristy place but we found this refreshing as it is a real functioning town with plenty of good resturants, gym, and local stores without the "big box" places. The people are friendly and anxious to please visitors. The climate is nice with warmer dryer days than the sea level coastal towns and also less fog. We intend to return next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: When we purchased this beautiful property it offered a modest ranch house sitting on 2.5 acres of young avocado and citrus trees with views of the neighboring hills dotted with large estates, farms and ranches. With the purchase and inspiration of a turn of the century windmill we transformed the property into a charming theme ranch complete with barn, guest house, landscaped rock walls and gardens. We have lived in Fallbrook since 1989 and love to share the beauty of the Fallbrook tuscany style hills and small agricultural towns of North San Diego! Many visitors to San Diego are surprised that San Diego offers such a peaceful beautiful landscape and exceptional southern California country living! We were!!
