Only two and a half hours from New York City and less than two hours from Boston, this "special" home is located on Bishop Estate on Old Stockbridge Road, less than one mile walking distance from the heart of Lenox. It is extremely private yet close to everything and especially close to Tanlgewood where the Boston Symphony Orchestra summers and conducts concerts daily with many of the worlds finest musicians performing. Lenox boasts the Shakespeare Festival, The Edith Wharton Mansion, and cozy streets of outdoor eateries, old inns, gourmet dining and eclectic, clothing, antique shops, and wonderful art galleries.
Lenox is the "hub" of the Berkshires. Williamstown, nearby has the best theater festival, the wonderful Clark Museum and restaurants and quaint shops and galleries. Pittsfield has the movies and big regional shopping centers and a delightful museum which also shows fine art movies. Stockbridge, a few minutes south is the Historic Town depicted by Norman Rockwell in his art, which is displayed in the Norman Rockwell Museum. The scenery all around is rolling, green, and lush. Great Barrington, also nearby, is a very interesting, charming town with very fine restaurants and shopping and movies.
The house is fully air-conditioned, decorated in and elegantly casual easy to maintain country ambiance. The views are beautiful with a rolling 25 acre field and the mountains in the background. The rear of the house has a very large deck for outdoor enjoyment and parties. There is fine modern art throughout. It is fully outfitted, including, all linens, kitchen necessities, TVs, VCR, and fax. Everyone who has rented has always rented again and all have ultimately bought homes in the area. Security Deposit without Pets = $2500 PLUS last months rent.
Summer renter pays total in advance, $2500 at signing & the rest at
agreed upon dates before June 1. The rentals quoted are lower than comparable.
