Location: Taos, New Mexico, USA (8 miles from Taos Town & 10 miles from Taos Ski Valley)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)
Keywords: Home (& Guest House #1098)
A lovely, spacious, Non-Smoking, Historic Home... Parts of the home date back 140 years, but the entire complex has been lovingly and elegantly restored and enlarged to create a wonderful vacation retreat. Adjacent to the main house is a spacious Guest House (VRBO #1098), which can be rented with the main house or separately. The houses share an outdoor hot tub set in a lovely garden.
The complex is set on several acres of open land and has views in all directions. The Main House is rambling as the old Taos adobes always are, as they were added onto room by room. Furnishings are a unique mix of antiques and newer pieces charmingly combined for a wonderful effect.
Three large bedrooms and 3 baths. The master bath is so spacious that it contains a treadmill and there is also a basketball court and hoop in the garden area. Courtyards in the front and back of the house are great in the summer and there are portals (porches) all around. Double carport adjacent to the Main House.
Very conveniently located midway between Taos Town (eight miles) and Taos Ski Valley (ten miles), near the Village of Arroyo Seco.

The warmth of your home enfolded us as soon as we walked in the door - just plain wonderful. Jill found the soporific nature of your white couch perfect for an afternoon nap. We're very pleased we were able to meet you, although briefly. Thank you so much for letting us share your home. If ever you are in the St.Louis area, please let us share some time with you. Our very best - Ben & Jill

Dear India, We cannot thank you enough for letting us stay at your amazing house. We have fallen in love with it and Taos. Terri told us you like scotch so we hope you enjoy this as a small token of our appreciation of your hospitality. We wish we could have met you on this trip but hope to in the future when we return to your home (especially after hearing Terri talk about how wonderful you are)! Thanks again for everything!

We came for my daughter's wedding in Questa which turned out beautifully in the wonderful mountain setting. Adding to the lovely experience was our stay in your delightful home. My other daughters, my son-in-law and my grandchildren (8 of us in all) were able to stay together in your spacious accommodations so comfortably and happily. We will all highly recommend the Hatch House. Thank you so much.

We can't imagine a better place to celebrate the New Year. This place is so homey - seeing Ian, Quinn and the others height marks as they grew up on the doorway of the kitchen entranced our three children. The Hot Tub, fireplace and Holiday lights helped us keep warm through the blizzard and -4 degree temperatures! The views are amazing - we've rented homes in this area before, but yours is far and away our favorite. Many thanks for all your thoughtful touches. We hope to be back next year!

My sister and I were on a cross country adventure - our destination being Pebble Beach for the 2010 US Open when we came across this rental on VRBO. We booked the house a couple days to explore the area before we moved on but found we didn't want to leave. So we cancelled the golf trip and stayed for another week! This place is that amazing. From the minute we pulled into the driveway and saw the beautifully landscaped lawns, the views and gardens we knew we weren't leaving anytime soon. Entering the house we could tell that this place was put together so lovingly and with such excellent taste. The art, the furniture, the unique little tchotchkes and personal touches make this place a home away from home. Oh and the beds! So comfortable!!! And the bedrooms are all very light, roomy and airy. I really hated to leave. India was so easy to deal with and is really a cool lady. I will definitely be back. I hope you find this review helpful and book this house for a wonderful vacation, you will not be disappointed.

This is a beautiful old house. We stayed 7 days and loved every minute. This is a real home where real people have lived which shows in the decor. The appliances are old and sometimes quirky (the microwave is haunted I think :) ), but this adds to the charm. The place is very large, with two living areas. The kids used the den, and the adults used the living room and kitchen. We are ready to go back next year!
